Authorities in Bermuda said Tuesday that they arrested four U.S. cruise ship passengers accused of drug possession.
Police said in a statement that the suspects had a “significant quantity of illegal drugs” including cannabis and carfentanil, which experts say is 100 times more potent than fentanyl and is used to tranquilize elephants.
“This seizure may have prevented a potential tragedy,” said acting Detective Superintendent Derricka Burns.
The suspects also were accused of possessing vape pens and suspected THC gummies.
Bermuda police said security officers aboard a Carnival cruise ship had detained the suspects.

A little boy in Newaygo County, Michigan, was pulled back from the brink of death on Saturday thanks to the quick action of a state trooper.
After a call came in about the four-year-old not breathing after he was found face down in water, Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper Casey Deater arrived at the scene on East 88th Street, WWMT reported on Tuesday.

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Prince of Darkness and one of heavy metal’s most iconic stars, has died. He was 76.

WASHINGTON — A federal judiciary panel — mainly made up of judges picked by Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden — voted not to extend Alina Habba as President Trump’sNew Jersey US attorney, effectively ending her three-month fight for confirmation.
Habba, who had served as the Garden State’s top prosecutor since March 24, had just 120 days to serve before her interim term expired at midnight July 22.
In the absence of Senate confirmation, the Garden State’s 17 federal judges could have voted to extend her tenure.
The Justice Department recently acknowledged that it is conducting a criminal investigation of both former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. The current CIA director, John Ratcliffe, made a criminal referral to the DOJ concerning Brennan. Many believe that referral involves perjury on Brennan’s part when testifying before Congress or during Special Counsel John Durham’s inquiry.
The precise criminal offenses concerning Comey are not clear at this point. But there was certainly plenty of malfeasance and misfeasance by both these agency heads starting with the inception of the Russia collusion fiasco.
