'TACO' is an awful political slogan, and
it could backfire for Democrats

Democrats are trying to make “TACO” — or “Trump always chickens out”— a new political slogan to get under the president’s skin. But it is not as clever a quip as they think it is, and it creates a perverse incentive for Trump to push the red buttons they don’t want him to push. (snip) it is straightforwardly wrongheaded as a political slogan. Why on Earth would Democrats dare Trump to follow through on his most extreme tariff threats? If this slogan were to really work, (snip)it would nudge him and his allies to cling more tightly to the most extreme versions of Trump’s bad economic policies.

The baseline 10% tariff gets the US $400 Billion a year. That's significant. Plus, we now have companies investing TRILLIONS in American business development that leads to new jobs and local, state, and federal tax revenue on actual EARNED income.
Only an insane person would think that Trump would maintain a 145% tariff against Chinese goods. Trump is a businessman and WANTS to do business BUT only under FAIR conditions. The 145% rate was a club to grab China's attention. Such a levy would destroy China and they know it. Trump laid out a message of, "You can play fair or you can suffer, YUGELY. Now let's talk about it.". Every trade deal is going Trump's way. The rest of the world really doesn't have a choice.
Plus, this is doing the rest of the world a favor by forcing them to become more efficient and competitive and drop stupid policies that they put in place and funded by tariffing the US. A good chunk of our $36 trillion debt is from us underwriting other countries. It's nuts and it HAS to stop. The tariff actions are forcing that to happen.
TACO is going to end up like the dem's ping pong paddles and pink outfits, a joke on a party that is completely clueless and ineffective.

Same as #5. I always considered it a demeaning word for Mexicans sort of like "beaner". Well, the Dems have always been racists while using it against anybody they disagreed with.

As others have pointed out it’s a stupid acronym to use because it has no relation to the person. When you say AWFL to describe white females you’re saying they’re awful people. What the heck does a taco have to do with Trump?

TACO also reminds people of Latinos which in turn reminds them of the illegal invasion of our country from south of our border. It’s especially stupid given what is going on in LA and NYC right now.

For once, PMSDNC is right. Anytime someone slams PDJT 2.0, he strikes back at least twice as hard.
On a side note, I've been saying PDJT 2.0, but since he won 3 elections, maybe I should say PDJT 3.0.

Democrats have zero understanding of negotiations -- as do many on the right. Also, I don't think TACO applies to Trump's response to the riots in LA that the Leftist politicians are inciting.

"Trump's bad economic policies?". You mean like cutting waste and fraud from gouging the taxpayers? Or devising an economic plan where our country's owned natural resources are harvested and used as income to alleviate the workers income tax burden? Encouraging manufacturing to be done here by increasing tariffs?. Countries like Norway have done that and they seem pretty happy about it/.

Incredibly stupid. Using the term is tantamount to admitting profound ignorance.
Yet I’ve seen at least one (potentially) glowy commenter here use it.

Hopefully as the leftist and progressive Democrats present themselves as the supporters of mass uncontrolled illegal immigration, they will continue to have their supporters wave foreign flags as they burn US flags, and also identify themselves as members of the “TACO” party. Will that work out for the Democrats in the next election?

Frankly, I'm surprised they chose this acronym TACO, rather than make one from Jill Biden's, "BOGEDAS".
