Democrats are reportedly gearing up to try and flip Texas blue with help from leftist billionaire and mega-donor George Soros. The group known as Texas Majority PAC is set to launch its “Blue Texas” initiative on Monday, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The newspaper said the Texas Democrat Party and other county parties will join the effort that will culminate in the midterm elections next year. Soros has tried but failed in the past to turn Texas blue by throwing millions of dollars into the effort. President Trump confirmed early Wednesday that the US reached a “deal” with China following intense, marathon trade negotiations in London.
“Our deal with China is done, subject to final approval with President Xi and me,” Trump announced on Truth Social Wednesday in full capitalization. “Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China.”
“Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!). We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. The relationship is excellent! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The short-lived feud between President Trump and Elon Musk seems to be winding down, as Musk expressed regret in an early morning social media post for some of his comments criticizing his former political ally.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week,” Musk wrote on X. “They went too far.” While Musk did not say which posts he felt contrite about, one was likely his accusation that Trump’s name appeared in the files of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Musk deleted that post less than two days after making it. He also deleted a separate post that called for Trump’s impeachment.
President Trump’s tariffs will remain in effect for now after a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday to pause a lower court decision that had blocked them.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted the stay and scheduled an expedited review of the case, which centers on whether Trump exceeded his authority under federal law.
The case involves challenges from five small businesses and a coalition of states who argue that President Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose tariffs was unlawful.
The mayor of Los Angeles is imposing a nighttime curfew to curtail the continuing anti-ICE riots and combat looting and vandalism amid the chaos.
L.A. Mayor Karen Bass (D.) announced a curfew beginning at 8 p.m. Pacific time in downtown Los Angeles and lifting at 6 a.m. She warned violators that law-enforcement officers would arrest them.
“I issued a curfew starting tonight at 8pm for Downtown Los Angeles to stop bad actors who are taking advantage of the President’s chaotic escalation,” Bass said.
“If you do not live or work in Downtown L.A., avoid the area. Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew, and you will be prosecuted.”

A shooter killed at least ten people and wounded many others in an attack at a secondary school in the southern Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday, the city's mayor said.

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters has insisted the ongoing riots in Los Angeles are peaceful.
Far-left protesters, criminal opportunists and immigrant activists have descended on the streets of Los Angeles over the past few days in an effort to push back against President Trump’s efforts to deport the millions of people who are illegally residing across the country.
