China: Fentanyl Is Not Our Problem

Original Article

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun insisted on Friday that “fentanyl is the U.S.’s problem, not China’s.” “The U.S. and the U.S. alone has the responsibility to solve it,” Guo said at a press briefing. “Despite the goodwill China has shown, the U.S. slapped tariffs on Chinese imports and blames it on fentanyl. This is bullying through and through, and highly damaging to dialogue and cooperation on counter-narcotics,” he complained. “The U.S. should know that vilifying others will not hide its failed responsibility, to punish those who try to help will not solve any problem, and intimidation or threats are certainly not the right way to engage with China,” he said.

The moment anyone uses the word "bully" to refer to the interactions between nations, my brain turns off. At that point I know nothing that follows will be worth reading. "Bully" is a k-12 play ground word, not to be applied to adult interactions and certainly not what occurs between nations.

There are a lot of similarities between Communist China's roles in the Fentanyl and Covid epidemics. Never forget that after Covid broke out in Wuhan international flights out of Wuhan continued while flights to other points in China were prohibited.

Sure, Guo, fentanyl is our problem. Your country isn't conducting a reverse opium war where you've compromised the Dominion of Canada into being a de facto province where you: 1.) Ship fentanyl precursors legally into the port of Vancouver; 2.) Process them into pills in newly-built factories in rural BC; 3.) Ship them all across Canada and its porous border with the US; and 4.) Launder your ill-gotten proceeds through Canadian banks with lax to non-existent laws against money laundering and racketeering in general. Sure, we get it. By the way, how do you plan to handle the imminent uprising of hundreds of millions of your unemployed countrymen in this "trade war"? Sucks to be you, huh?

This accusation, coming from from a close ally who was once at the heart of the administration, has unleashed a political storm and raises a disturbing question: Can Colombia be led by someone whose ability to govern is in serious doubt? On April 22, 2025, Álvaro Leyva, a veteran conservative politician who served as Petro's foreign minister from August 2022 until May 2024, sent a letter to the president, which was officially received by the Presidency at 1:52 pm. In the four-page document, Leyva does not hold back in his criticism. He accuses Petro of erratic behavior, incoherent speeches, and a disconnect with his cabinet, but the most severe blow

A federal grand jury has indicted seven foreign nationals — all illegal aliens — for a wide-ranging criminal conspiracy involving money laundering, drug trafficking proceeds, and illegal firearm possession. The charges stem from a years-long operation allegedly run by Jose Malagon Castro, a Mexican national who brazenly operated three grocery stores in Kentucky as fronts for laundering dirty cartel cash, according to the Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Kentucky. His employees—Yeimi, Kenia, and Kelin Hernandez Barahona (all Honduran nationals) and Suri Rosmeri Hernandez Del Cid (from Guatemala)—allegedly helped wire drug proceeds back to Mexico, fueling the cartels that profit off America’s open borders. According to the indictment,

Slate, a new EV startup backed by Jeff Bezos, believes its new $25,000 pickup truck, which could cost less than $20,000 with tax credits, could help change that, its CEO, Chris Barman, told Business Insider. "There's a massive population of people out there when it comes to safe, reliable, affordable transportation; there just really aren't many alternatives for them," Barman said in an interview ahead of the unveiling of the new EV this week. A $25,000 price point would mean achieving something

It's 99% publicly funded -- with your state and local tax dollars -- and its chief business is litigating and lobbying to force changes in the law that will benefit criminals and handcuff the police. Sadly, it's been quite successful. I sat down with Gotham's longest-serving police commissioner, Ray Kelly, on Monday to get his take on the damage done. They continue to prioritize the interests of illegal immigrants over their own constituents and stubbornly deny the very real crisis that President Trump is working to fix. President Trump will sign a sweeping “law and order” executive order Monday to overhaul policies that he says hamstring police and prevent the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, The Post has learned. The bucket of seven major reforms, outlined in an administration document, includes instructing the Justice Department to “create a mechanism to provide legal resources and indemnification for officers facing unjust expenses from official duties, including pro bono assistance.” The order also seeks to “increase surplus military assets for local law enforcement” — which Democratic administrations have curtailed — and calls for authorities to “pursue legal action against state or local officials obstructing criminal or immigration law enforcement,”

House Republican leaders are considering making some of the key tax benefits that President Donald Trump promised on the 2024 campaign trail only temporary policies in the reconciliation bill that's currently being crafted. A "sunset" period of four years is under consideration for policies such as eliminating taxes on tips, Social Security benefits and overtime pay, Just the News has learned. The move has drawn criticism from a budget watchdog group, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, which has described the possibility of scoring certain tax benefits as temporary rather than permanent to estimate the full cost of the package as "manipulation" that wouldn't show the true cost.
