Panama Ciry, Panama — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had one mission on his trip to Panama — to secure a deal to get “first and free” passage for U.S. ships in the Panama Canal, a critical waterway for the United States’ economy and military that was at risk of falling under China’s control. As the secretary and his team flew the down from Washington on Monday evening to meet with Panama’s leaders, such a deal with Panama was far from certain. While the U.S. had built the canal in the early 1900s and maintained it for decades before handing it over to Panama, China had in recent years poured money

Hegseth has turned out even better than most people predicted. He has already captured the respect of the troops by being one of them and he has one purpose, get the job done. The Panama Canal is critical to the US Navy.

Well, that didn’t take long. As with closing the border, all it took was a new President - and the guys he selected.

I grew up in the Canal Zone. My grandfather worked for many years at Miraflores Locks before retiring to Florida. So I was never pleased that Carter gave up control of the canal. I'm am very happy that DJT is taking steps to regain control.

Jimmy Carter gave away our canal. The US financed and built it and should control it.

What do you do most mornings at 2:17 a.m.? Safe to say, I am almost always sound asleep in deep darkness and brisk mountain air. But nights are quite a bit different for the current commander in chief and leader of the free world. President Donald Trump is known for not wasting many precious hours sleeping; almost the opposite of his predecessor, who spent 40 percent of his term on vacation. Four to five hours of sleep a night is said to be the norm for the 78-year-old Trump. And his doctor says Trump handles such little sleep quite well.

Is anyone tired yet of watching White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt regularly destroy left-leaning journalists who ask loaded, obviously hostile questions about the Trump administration and its policies? I’m not. After watching first “Circle Back” Jen Psaki and then the ever-petulant Karine Jean-Pierre making a mockery of the job for four long years during Joe Biden’s Reign of Terror, I for one can tell you that I’m not bored with it—not even a little bit. Instead of lying and gaslighting and refusing to talk straight like her two predecessors, she comes armed with a no-nonsense but polite attitude (and a sunny smile), brings actual facts,

President Trump said Japan is set to kick off tariff negotiations with the US in Washington on Wednesday — becoming one of the first countries to test his willingness to relent on the sweeping tariffs. “Japan is coming in today to negotiate Tariffs, the cost of military support, and ‘TRADE FAIRNESS’,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “I will attend the meeting, along with Treasury & Commerce Secretaries. Hopefully something can be worked out which is good (GREAT!) for Japan and the USA!”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Wednesday that the state is suing President Donald Trump over his recent tariffs, claiming that they are hurting the state and that he lacks the authority to enact them. Bay Area public radio station KQED reported: Gov. Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta are asking a federal court to pause the tariffs being levied against Mexico, China and Canada, as well as the across-the-board 10 percent tariff enacted by Trump. The suit argues that the law the president is relying on — the International Economic Emergency Powers Act — has never been used before to justify tariffs, and that Trump needs

United States District Judge Indira Talwani, appointed by former President Barack Obama, has past ties to Democrats and ruled against immigration enforcement in the first Trump administration. This week, Talwani blocked President Donald Trump from deporting migrants who were released into the United States interior via former President Joe Biden’s parole pipeline. The decision by Talwani to prevent Trump from ending Biden’s parole pipeline, thus preventing the administration from deporting more than 530,000 migrants with no legal status in the United States, is among many from Democrat-appointed federal judges who have halted the White House from implementing its agenda.
