We may well be witnessing the passing of a torch just now in the Democratic Party. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the former bartender from New York, and Bernie Sanders, the daffy old Bolshevik from Vermont, have been making some appearances together. We may well presume that the "daffy Bolshevik" torch is being handed off, from a failed carpenter to a failed bartender.Or, at least, we might have thought that, until Bernie appeared on ABC's "This Week" and, when asked if he thought AOC should run for the Senate, appeared about to storm out of the room, calling it a "nonsense question."
Now why would he do that?

National security adviser Mike Waltz said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that President Donald Trump was working towards “full dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear program.
Partial transcript as follows:
MARGARET BRENNAN: Good morning and welcome to “Face the Nation.” There is a lot to cover on the home front, but we begin first on national security. In just a few hours, U.S. officials will be holding talks with Ukraine, and tomorrow a separate round with Russia, in pursuit of a 30 day cease fire. In the meantime, the Trump administration is ramping up the U.S. military presence in the Middle East, sending a second aircraft carrier

Ivanka Trump has captivated the internet with a video she posted to Instagram showing off her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills.
The 43-year-old beauty made the video with the Valente Brothers’ studio in Miami.
Wearing a blue belt, the First Daughter does chokeholds, armbars, knife disarms and throws with her instructors Joaquim, Pedro, and Gui Valente.
The footage begins with Trump bowing to her instructors before launching into action.
She flips an instructor onto the mat, secures a chokehold, and disarms a simulated knife attack.

Tesla owners can activate a security measure on their vehicles called "sentry mode," which can help deter or even bust threats in the wake of widespread vandalism targeting Elon Musk’s electric car company. Sentry mode, when enabled, keeps the cameras and sensors of the vehicle powered on and ready to record suspicious activity that happens nearby.
"Think of Sentry Mode as an intelligent vehicle security system that alerts you when it detects possible threats nearby," according to the Tesla Model 3 owner’s manual.

Then-President Ronald Reagan was widely mocked by Democrats in 1983 when he proposed a “Star Wars”-like weapons system (the Strategic Defense Initiative aka SDI) designed to prevent the United States from attack. Many years later, some of the technology developed was incorporated into Israel’s famed “Iron Dome” defense systems—to great effect, as the weapons have been able to knock down countless missiles and projectiles lobbed into the Jewish state by its many enemies. Donald Trump took notice, and he wants such a system for the entire United States—the “Golden Dome”—and defense officials are preparing to show the president preliminary plans

Defense secretary Pete Hegseth recently floated the idea of renaming the Department of Defense, suggesting a shift toward a more robust and assertive identity that reflects America's commitment to national security. As the Trump administration continues to push back against the growing influence of political correctness in the U.S. military and government institutions, Hegseth's proposal resonates with those who believe it’s time to refocus on strength, readiness, and the defense of American values. In an X poll, Hegseth asked the public for their opinion

The University of Maine system has agreed to exclude men from women’s sports to maintain its federal funding.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the university’s compliance in a press release earlier this week.
“After the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) initiated a Title IX compliance review regarding federal funding, the University of Maine System (UMaine) has clearly communicated its compliance with Title IX’s requirement to protect equal opportunities for women and girls to compete in safe and fair sports, as articulated in President Donald J. Trump’s Executive Order,” the department’s press release said.
The department continued, “Any false claim by the UMaine can, and will, result i

President Trump has some advice for former foe Kamala Harris if she runs for California governor next year.
“Let her run,” Trump, 78, told OutKick’s Clay Travis during an interview Saturday when asked about her future. “I don’t want to be [giving] people advice politically, but one thing she’s gotta start doing is she’s gotta start giving interviews.
“[Former President Joe Biden] — during the COVID thing, he did no interviews, and he got away with it because of COVID.” (Photo) Since her defeat against Trump in November, Harris, 60, has been rumored to be mulling three main options about her political future:

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called a snap federal election on April 28, claiming he needs a strong mandate to address President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
Speaking in Ottawa on Sunday, Carney said the elections, which are not due until Oct. 20, should be pushed up in the face of the Trump administration. (Photo) “We are facing the most significant crisis of our lifetimes because of President Trump’s unjustified trade actions and his threats to our sovereignty,” Carney said.
“He wants to break us so America will own us. We will not let that happen,” he added.

History records this of the famous Nixon Watergate scandal.
In the summer of 1972, as an American presidential election featuring incumbent Republican President Richard Nixon and Democrat Senator George McGovern swirled, two young, green Washington Post reporters, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein by name, learned of a break-in at Washington’s Watergate Hotel and office complex. A break-in at the offices of the Democratic National Committee.
Neither was happy at their new assignment that had them looking into this. It was too much like the run-of-the-mill petty crimes each had already spent time investigating. Besides, the two had never worked together on a story before.

My family and I were lucky enough to be invited to the White House this week for the signing of the Executive Order on dismantling the worthless Department of Education. We were in the room as President Trump spoke about the failures of this monstrosity and the trillions wasted over the years to get ever-worsening results. But you’d never know any of that watching the media coverage of the event, because they’re horrible people who deserve your contempt. During the event the media pen was behind us in this room of maybe 100 people. A lot of Governors, including Ron DeSantis of Florida, Greg Abbott
