FRONTON, Texas — Shots were fired toward the United States Border Patrol agents this afternoon.
Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez told ValleyCentral, that shots were fired toward Border Patrol agents in Fronton, Texas. Fronton is in Starr County.
According to NewsNation, the shots came from suspected cartel members across the border. Border Patrol returned fire, but no injuries were reported.
“Sources say the suspected cartel members were attempting to push a group across the river, none of them made it across,” said NewsNation correspondent, Ali Bardley in a social media post.
