We live in an age of whispered conversations.
There are aspects of American life that everyone, or nearly everyone, knows are absurd but is too afraid to speak out against and feels powerless to reverse.
It used to be said that if someone looked over his shoulder, he was about to tell an insensitive joke.
Now people are worried about being overheard making what should be commonsensical observations.
Below are the kinds of conversations that are happening all the time.

Reminder: “WE ARE A SALON AND NOT A SALOON”
Your thoughts, comments, and ideas are always welcome here. But we ask you to please be mindful and respectful. Threatening or crude language doesn't persuade anybody and makes the conversation less enjoyable for fellow L.Dotters.

Whispered Conversations. That would be a good title for a book recounting the past 10-15 years. We don't talk politics restaurants, I remove any sign in our house that would let anyone coming in to do repair work or deliver an appliance that would signal that we are Conservatives. Some years ago, getting a new dishwasher, I had left a picture of Obama with an insulting headline on it on our fridge. The man who came to deliver and install it said he was unable to install it because the wiring was wrong. The next day the store sent out another person to put it in and he said there was nothing wrong with the wiring and put the dishwasher in. I had removed the picture that was on the fridge by then. The first man was Black and I'm pretty sure that was the reason he wouldn't wire it up.

That ploy of telling women they didn’t have to vote the way their husbands wanted them to because “votes are private” was really insidious and I’m sure turned off a lot of women.
It’s wonderful to have our country back.

Wasn't Rich Lowry a neverTrumper? I agree with this article, but also think there have been lots of other whispered conversations about illegal immigrants, about which Lowry is curiously silent.

How odd. Rich Lowry, neverTrumper, gets this right.

They may have "whispered." We didn't. We were loud.

Long story short: Read "The Master and His Emissary" by Ian McGilchrist. If it makes sense to you then move on to "The Matter with Things" by the same author who is a psychiatrist, neuroscience researcher, philosopher and literary scholar (the two books are a total of ~2000 pages with an additional bibliography of ~200 pages). The "Left" politically are only using their left brain, they ignore promptings from their right brain. The "Right" politically, and everyone else in the world, are using both their left and right brain (the whole thing). All wokeness is solely left brain thinking which is focused on materialism, the individual as the source of truth (it is all "personal") and power ("might makes right") unmediated by the right which is concerned with ultimate truth and traditional human virtues. They aren't playing a game, they truly are "insane" (using only 1/2 their brains) but the 1/2 they are using doesn't allow for things like logic, compassion, humility, intuition, a connection with the divine, and any real understanding of foundational concepts like Love, Good, Truth and Beauty. Also the reason why there is no longer any humor, music, art or literature worth a dang nowadays. Explains a lot, perhaps explains everything worth knowing - check it out.

So very true. All my home aides were black and all of them hated Biden and Harris and for these reasons and also economy, and immigration too.

Re #8. We are replacing some windows on the back of our house and my wife was told it was a black guy coming to do the estimate. She covered a magazine with that now iconic photo of Trump with his fist in the air and blood trickling down his face. The guy came....huge 6"9" inches. Had played college basketball. Very personable and obviously smart due to his demanding job. He was sitting doing the figures when I noticed he was sitting under a portrait of Robert E. Lee. No problem with him though, said he was voting for Trump. I think the winds are changing a little at least I hope so.

Good article although Lowry needs to apologize to POTUSe Trump and Maga.
At work we had a town hall con call. The female minority hr execs described the company's diversity goals and noted that whatever managers or executives had not implemented were no longer in the company.
Oh! Also half the company is no longer profitable.
I am so looking forward to the Trump sonic boom.
