A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supervisor told disaster relief workers in Florida to “avoid homes” with signs supporting President-elect Donald Trump, the agency confirmed Friday. The FEMA official — Marn’i Washington — conveyed her edict both verbally and in a Microsoft Teams chat used by relief workers canvassing Lake Placid homes ravaged by Hurricane Milton last month, according to the Daily Wire. “Avoid homes advertising Trump,” Washington wrote in a “best practices” memo to employees. The order was the second bullet point in a list instructing workers to not go “anywhere alone,” practice “de-escalation,” stay hydrated and to “follow the rules.”

Those of you wondering why she has not been fired have never worked for the Federal Government. A 10 years ago I needed a job and decided to take one at a VA hospital. On my first day I was sent to a room with come computers and told to go through some training programs and some orientation while waiting for the official orientation class which was later in the week. There was a guy at a computer in the same room who just seemed to be using the computer for personal things like playing video games all day. The 2nd day, I struck up a conversation with him and he told me that he was waiting for a transfer to another hospital because he had physically attacked his supervisor and they wanted to get him out of that hospital. He bragged that because he was a member of the Union, they couldn't fire him. He has been in that room for a month playing games and getting paid for it. Sure enough, when I had the official orientation class, a Union Rep spoke to us all about joining the Union while we were eating pizza provided by the Union. Their big pitch was that If we ever got into trouble on the job the Union would keep us from being fired. BTW, I was able to get a job back in the civilian world after three months and was never so happy to leave a workplace.

What #7 describes happens all the time. The AFGE (govt employees union) spends the majority of its time defending the lazy and inept. I will say they got the covid shot mandate killed, and for that I am grateful, but mostly they protect the dead weight. I had a co-worker who had been doing the job for 25 years and still didnt know the first thing about it. He was dangerous on the rare occasions when he got out of his chair and annoying when he didnt. Guaranteed that if anyone tried to correct him he would go stomping up to the union and they would be demanding apologies. I did 23 years in civil service and never joined them. My honor forbade it.

I love the weasel worded response from FEMA as to what her status is. "However, a FEMA spokesperson told The Post that Washington is “no longer working in the state of Florida or in any FEMA operations at this moment” pending the outcome of an investigation." The only proper response to an offense like this is that the employee has been suspended without pay until a termination hearing can be held. Any other response is a taciturn approval of her actions.

“We are horrified that this took place and therefore have taken extreme actions to correct this situation and have ensured that the matter was addressed at all levels,” the rep said." So what "extreme actions" were taken? A strongly worded letter? The employee was transferred to another gov't job? Firing is too easy - doing this to people who are almost helpless needs retribution. The person who did this was fearless because they knew screwing with Trump supporters was accepted by leadership. The punishment has to be severe enough to reverse that organizational acceptance, with no ambiguity. Firing Mayorkas is only symbolic, he's gone in 2 months anyway. How about a couple years filling sandbags, and fighting wildfires, with a ball and chain around his neck and a live webcam the whole country can view.

As my colleague Streiff reported Friday, the success of President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda may be on the line Wednesday because that’s when the Senate decides on the next GOP Leader after Mitch McConnell (Kentucky) finally stepped down. The competition between the three leading contenders—John Cornyn (Texas), Rick Scott (Florida), and Minority Whip John Thune (South Dakota)—has been fierce, with Thune saying that Trump should let the Senate decide and not put his thumb on the scale. Maybe it’s just me, but I would ask, did Thune just win almost 75 million votes and earn a resounding mandate from the American people?

Former President Barack Obama's plan to keep the Democratic Party in power failed, and the coup of President Joe Biden from the 2024 race, which Obama helped orchestrate, backfired. Now, he's concerned that he might have dug his own grave. Obama's biographer revealed the former president's top concern following President-elect Donald Trump's win after playing a significant role in Biden's ousting and Harris' downfall. Obama "has been and remains extremely concerned and nervous about his historical legacy," says David Garrow, author of the 2017 biography Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama. "That has certainly taken a big hit with Trump once again triumphing," he continued.

If things hadn't worked out as they did on Tuesday, with Democrat pollsters calling this presidential race too close to call Donald Trump could have lost the election because of the government's bad math. Was that bad math on purpose? Was it part of the #Resistance? Good questions. Let's look at the evidence. The Heritage Foundation's go-to elections savant Hans von Spakovsky discovered a "shocking" anomaly in 2020 Census Bureau numbers. Worse, the anomalous numbers were revealed in the "corrected" government follow-up report two years later, in 2022. Those math errors occurred in 14 states, the majority considered to be red states.

The Justice Department is reportedly narrowing its focus on prosecuting the most “egregious” offenders involved in the Jan. 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol building. Of particular concern are those who committed felony assaults on law enforcement officers, according to an NBC News report. This development comes after President-elect Donald Trump won the presidential election and prepares to take office in early 2025. The primary reason for the Justice Department’s tighter focus is likely the possibility that Trump will pardon or commute the sentences of many of those who were arrested and are facing prosecution over Jan. 6. His victory has sparked optimism among the defendants and those supporting them.

Now vendors and others who worked on those concerts, which were meant to persuade “low-propensity voters” to turn out for Harris, are reportedly facing the prospect of unpaid invoices.

In the late 1940s, Supreme Court Justice Hugo L. Black, in the case of Everson v. United States, took a quote from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson out of context and insisted that the wall of separation between church and state “should be high and impregnable.” Despite some variability, this position became the basis for the Court’s interpretation of the separation of church and state which led to the banning of prayer and Bible reading in the public schools at the beginning of the 1960s. Separation of church and state means (1) that taxes should not be used to support an official national church (denomination) of Christianity,

MSNBC host Joy Reid said Friday on her show “The ReidOut” that President-elect Donald Trump will deport legal immigrants if they are “brown.” Reid said, “They have now gotten people of color to fight each other and not pay attention to each other and create a hate among groups of color so that when they do start hurting people and taking people out and putting people in camps. Now we have a Hutu Tutsi world where people don’t care. When they start hurting undocumented people, the other people in the country including other people of color won’t care.”

REPOST BY REQUEST: I say gently, don’t look for President Trump to expend valuable political capital on this. Senator John Thune has been groomed by Mitch McConnell to be his replacement for decades. Thune’s ascension to the role of Senate Majority Leader was, maybe is, essentially a foregone conclusion. Senator Thune will carry the full support of roughly 15-to-20 senate DeceptiCons (deceptive conservatives), and perhaps a dozen more squishy ones in the middle who want great committee positions. The important dynamic that comes into play is Senate Committee Chairman “leverage” for Donald Trump’s nominees.

Former communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris, Jamal Simmons, surprised a CNN panel Sunday by suggesting President Biden step down to allow Harris to serve as the first female president. Joe Biden’s been a phenomenal president, he’s lived up to so many of the promises he’s made. There’s one promise left that he could fulfill, being a transitional figure," Simmons said on CNN’s "State of the Union." "He could resign the presidency in the next 30 days, make Kamala Harris President of the United States—"

George Clooney feels he is being used as a ‘scapegoat’ in the furious blame game over who could have cost Kamala Harris the election – and will now take a step back from politics. The Hollywood star, 63, threw his support behind Harris after penning a blistering op-ed on why Joe Biden would cost the Democrats the win if he didn’t abandon his campaign, but it still wasn’t enough to prevent an historic victory for Donald Trump. Clooney has since been criticized by Democrats for his influence during the election, with some claiming Harris' loss was his fault.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency supervisor accused of ordering her subordinates to skip Florida homes with Trump campaign signs has been fired. Marn’i Washington was sacked for telling disaster relief workers in Lake Placid, Fla., to “not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump,” FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said Saturday. “This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation,” she said, adding, “This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel. “I will continue to do everything I can to make sure this never happens again.
