There is currently a major manhunt underway by US Marshals for Nathan Wade, the former Fulton County investigator and DA Fani Willis’s lover. Jesse Watters broke the news Thursday evening on FOX News. Jesse Watters: Lover boy, Nathan Wade is missing. The House Judiciary Committee, which is investigating Georgia DA Fannie Willis, needs Wade to testify at a hearing tomorrow on their love affair. But no one can find the guy. They’re trying to serve him, but he’s flown the coop, and now the US marshals are in a manhunt to track him down. Have they checked the conduct?

GWP often uses hyperbolic headlines to misrepresent the facts of its articles. I'm no fan of Wade and was disappointed to see that he's essentially ducking the service of a Congressional subpoena, not a criminal act. "Manhunt" is commonly defied as an intense search for a criminal or for one credibly accused of criminal behavior. The recipient of a duly issued and valid congressional subpoena has a legal obligation to comply, absent a valid and overriding privilege or other legal justification. Ducking the service of a subpoena is not inherently criminal; people are allowed to "absent" themselves or to have "flown the coop", as the article stated, whether taking the family to Disney Land, hiding under a rock shelter in the Wind River Range, or camping out in your friend-with-benefit's underwear drawer. Ignoring a subpoena once served, can be grounds for Contempt of Congress, which carries some criminal liability; however, that requires the committee issuing the subpoena to issue a citation of contempt, on which Congress may vote. If passed, Congress requests the Executive Branch (Justice Dept) to pursue prosecution. As if Garland was inclined to go after one of his proxies.

#19 is correct. GP, especially Jim Hoft, publishes articles of interesting subjects, but the writing is often clumsy, biased, or as #19 put it, hyperbolic. A few years ago, I wrote to them to correct Victoria Taft, who had written that Kitsap County, Washington, is southwest of Seattle. That is incorrect. Kitsap is west of Seattle and spans from south to far north of Seattle.

On September 26, Georgia citizens filed suit in Federal Court against Brad Raffensperger, Georgia Secretary of State. The plaintiffs argued that according to data from Georgia state voter rolls and U.S. Postal Service (USPS), there are many individuals who have moved out of the state, but remain registered to vote in Georgia. This violates the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). Their suit demands that Raffensperger follow the NVRA and Georgia law to maintain accurate and timely registrations in Georgia’s voter rolls. The lawsuit seeks to enforce laws that protect Georgians’ right to vote from dilution.

Growing lines of container ships continued to form outside major U.S. ports on Thursday as the biggest dockworker strike in nearly 50 years entered its third day. The choke points are threatening shortages of everything from bananas to auto parts and are anticipated to grow in coming days if no resolution is forthcoming. Reuters reports no negotiations were scheduled between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and employers, but the port owners, under pressure from the White House to hike their pay offer to land a deal, signaled they were open to new talks.

In a formal introduction of his newly chosen Cabinet, President Biden proudly declared: “This is the first [time] in American history that the cabinet looks like America.” Scrutinizing the actual appointments and not just the sex, skin color, and ethnic origins of the Biden team reveals a group that may look like America but doesn’t think like America. In fact, it is a team whose outlook is transparently anti-American. Take Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris, whose antipathy for America — despite her superficial attempts to hide it — oozes from every pore. At a February 2019 presidential campaign stop, she said Columbus Day should be replaced

Tuesday was the official beginning of National Day, a Chinese holiday marking the anniversary of Communist Party rule. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the takeover, but the celebrations seemed muted as the week-long holiday got underway, as China faces economic stumbles, security woes, supply chain disruptions, a massive demographic crisis, and a growing sense of anger and futility among its young people. The Associated Press noted that no festivities at all were announced on Tuesday, except for a ceremonial flag-raising at Tiananmen Square, which was a symbolic center of ancient Chinese imperial power before it became infamous for a horrifying Communist massacre in 1989.

Presumably, he meant "proportionate" to the ballistic missile attack that Iran launched on Israel on Monday.
