The sound of a gameshow-like spinning wheel was almost as constant as the smell of fried foods on a stick along a stretch of Underwood Street on a mostly sunny Wednesday afternoon. A line of about five dozen people snaked its way down the boulevard stretching southward to Ye Old Mill at Carnes Avenue.
“You landed on Covid snitch line!” a volunteer from behind the “NEVER WALZ” booth shouted to a throng of onlookers who either cheered, jeered or were indifferent.

The Biden-Harris administration is cherry picking U.S. Customs and Border Protection data to fit their narrative that immigration issues are improving ahead of the election, according to a former Border Patrol agent.
Recent immigration data shows that the numbers of migrant encounters are dropping from record highs months ago, but that is not the entire picture, National Border Patrol Council Vice President Art Del Cueto, told DailyMail.com.
'The reality is, the numbers have dropped, but [the Biden administration] has played with the numbers somewhat,' he charged.

Two pollsters, InsiderAdvantage and Trafalgar, dropped a number of swing state polls Saturday, and the news is almost all good for former President Donald Trump.
Pennsylvania: Trump 47 percent/Harris 45 percent – Trump +2
Michigan: Trump 47 percent/ Harris 47 percent – tied
Wisconsin: Trump 47 percent/ Harris 46 percent – Trump +1
In all three polls, Trafalgar surveyed 1,080+ likely voters between August 28 and 30 with a margin of error of 2.8 percent.

The California Assembly passed a bill that would ban voter identification requirements from being enacted at local government levels.
Senate Bill 1174, which passed in a 57-16 vote, would “prohibit a local government from enacting or enforcing any charter provision, ordinance, or regulation requiring a person to present identification for the purpose of voting or submitting a ballot at any polling place, voter center, or other location where ballots are cast or submitted, as specified.” The bill was introduced by California State Sen. President Trump and Special Counsel Jack Smith presented opposing arguments for how the January 6 case will proceed in a joint status report filed late Friday night ahead of a status conference scheduled for September 5.
On Tuesday Jack Smith indicted President Trump AGAIN in DC following the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity.
As TGP reported last week, Special Counsel Jack Smith opted out of holding a ‘mini trial’ before the November election and is ‘carefully revising’ the January 6 case against Trump following the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity ruling according to a leak to Bloomberg.

Independents–by double digits–prefer former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the country, this week’s survey from the Economist/YouGov found.
This survey, which was taken after the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Illinois, asked respondents a very simple question: “Between Harris and Trump, who would you prefer to have as president?”
Despite Harris leading Trump by two points nationally, Trump actually has a one-point edge on this question, as 47 percent said they prefer Trump to be president rather than Harris, compared to 46 percent

San Francisco 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall was shot during a robbery incident in the city's Union Square, according to police.
Pearsall is now in stable condition and a suspect is in custody, District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin told the local NBC affiliate.
The first-year receiver was reportedly targeted over his Rolex watch. There are also unconfirmed claims that Pearsall was at an autograph signing at or around the time the shooting took place. The 23-year-old Arizona native is one week away from his first NFL game against the New York Jets on September 9, although his status for that contest was already clouded by a shoulder injury.

Imagine life in the near future. A man resides alone in a tiny apartment. He would prefer to be married, but the State considers that antiquated institution “patriarchal” and “white supremacist.” He would prefer to have children, but he can’t afford them. Besides, his yearly carbon allowance is insufficient to cover another resource-wasting human being.
He has never owned anything. He rents his bedroom, his furnishings, and his meager entertainments. Each month, a digital account associated with his digital ID receives a number of central bank digital currency units. How much he receives depends upon the number of hours he works

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suing North Carolina’s board of elections after they refused to remove his name from the ballot in the pivotal swing state.
The lawsuit filed in Wake County Superior Court on Friday says the board’s decision to deny Kenendy’s request to remove his name from the ballot violates his free speech rights and accuses the board of making an issue out of nothing.“By refusing to acknowledge Kennedy’s statutory rights and entitlements, defendants have irreparably harmed him,” the lawsuit said. “Even worse, by forcing Kennedy to remain on the ballot against his will, defendants are compelling speech in violation of [the Constitution].”

A handful of House Republicans are hoping to attach the new SAVE act to the upcoming continuing resolution to be passed September 30. The act would mandate all states to ensure that only U.S. citizens vote in the November elections. There is already such a law on the books, but because there is a lack of enforcement, there is little confidence that it will be followed. So why would anyone follow the new SAVE act? Mitch McConnell has already said he -- and about 17 of his RINO cronies -- are opposed to the SAVE act.
So where does that leave us? Let's look at Florida.

It doesn't take an expert to know that Kamala Harris was out of her element during the softball interview with CNN. She's been avoiding interviews and press conferences for weeks, and despite finally agreeing to an interview with a friendly network conducted by a friendly host, she still needed her male running mate to accompany her.
But it should come as no surprise that a body language expert who analyzed Kamala's performance during the interview told Fox News Digital that Harris lacked both confidence and a presidential demeanor.
According to Susan Constantine, Harris frequently looked down during the CNN interview, which suggested that she was “not confident in what she’s saying.”

Vice President Kamala Harris should promise to grow the U.S. economy by importing more migrant workers, consumers, and renters, according to a pro-migration op-ed writer at the Washington Post.
“Legal immigration is a critical component of economic growth and solvency for our entitlement programs,” columnist Jennifer Rubin declared on August 27. There is no shortage of good ideas, ranging from dropping outdated country caps to granting foreign STEM graduates green cards to clearing the green-card backlog to increased visas for seasonal workers,” Rubin added, without acknowledging the alternative strategy of growing the economy by raising Americans’ productivity.

She said her party wants to give illegal immigrants a chance to achieve the American dream. In contrast, so many other American citizens suffer to live and pay bills under the current leadership.

Looks like someone needs to say this for the hundred thousandth-and-second time: The United States is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. The Constitution makes it very plain. While the federal government has some democratic institutions (the House of Representatives - sort of) it also includes some very un-democratic institutions (the Senate, the Supreme Court) because the United States is not a democracy, and the Founders set it up deliberately to prevent government by direct democracy.

I had no clue news networks were organizing such focus groups, but this is why MSNBC needs to cater to its white progressive, race-obsessed audience. The problem is that they probably didn’t like what this group had to say about Kamala Harris. The network assembled a “mixed race” focus group, which is beyond absurd. What happened? Did the black focus groups not make for good television? They did—they didn’t repeat or accept the propaganda the liberal media wanted to weaponize en masse.

Johnstown, Pa.— Police said Saturday that a man will face misdemeanor charges after he stormed into the press area at Donald Trump’s rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, before being surrounded by authorities and eventually subdued with a Taser as the former president spoke at the campaign stop.
The incident Friday came moments after Trump had criticized major media outlets for what he said was unfavorable coverage and had dismissed CNN as fawning for its interview Thursday with his Democratic rival Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz.
It was not immediately clear what motivated the man or whether he was a Trump supporter or critic.

Since choosing Minnesota Gov. Tim “Stolen Valor” Walz as her running mate, incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris has seen her lead in Minnesota cut in half.
Back in July, just after Kamala’s coup successfully drove His Fraudulency Joe Biden out of the presidential race, Kamala enjoyed a ten-point lead over former President Trump. A KTSP/SurveyUSA poll had Kamala sitting comfortably at 50 percent support to Trump’s 40 percent.
Much has happened since that poll was taken between July 23-25. Namely, she chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. She also enjoyed a four-day campaign commercial known as a convention and saw it backed by billions and billions of dollars

First, it was Kamala Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who was accused of “being untruthful” about his military record. Now it’s Maryland Governor Wes Moore, who recently delivered a speech at the DNC and is considered a rising star in his party, and whose “guns” (biceps) Joe Biden admires. You see, Moore had been introduced as a Bronze Star recipient by television interviewers in 2008 and 2010 and neither he nor his aides corrected them—despite the fact that he did not receive the award. As controversies go, it didn’t ruin his career, and he won the gubernatorial election

Maybe President Joe Biden was never a serious member of the Washington, DC, establishment — like the Clintons, the Bushes, or the Obamas — or, maybe, the establishment just had no more use for him.
Either way, the knives seem to be out for the Biden family after Joe Biden stepped aside from the 2024 presidential election. In three leaks in the last month, members of the permanent political class in Washington disclosed damaging information about the Biden family.
One: Hunter Biden accepted $3,101,258 from Romanian partner Gabriel Popoviciu to “influence U.S. government agencies” when Joe Biden served as vice president, Special Counsel David Weiss said in a court filing.

Is Kamala Harris having second thoughts about picking Tim Walz as her running mate? If she isn't, she probably should be.
A new poll out of Pennsylvania is shedding some light on just how much of an own-goal that was. Before getting there, though, the topline is really good news for Donald Trump, showing him tied in the head-to-head and leading in the five-way matchup (which is more relevant). It appears Harris' momentum has been completely halted, with no perceivable bounce from the DNC. Bob Casey, the Democrat senator up for re-election in Pennsylvania, only being up two points is also a huge result for Republicans.

This looks slightly more serious as an instance of political dishonesty than the Case of the Missing Big Mac, but maybe not by much. Apparently, a story told by Tim Walz about the George Bush campaign provoking him into a career in electoral politics has some serious holes in it. But is it far enough off from the truth to matter these days?
If a Democrat's origin story falls in the forest, will the media report it even if people are around to hear it?

On Thursday, former President Donald Trump generated a firestorm of controversy in pro-life political circles.[Snip]In response, Trump stated, “I think the six-week is too short. There has to be more time.” Many interpreted his comments to mean he would vote in favor of Amendment 4.[Snip]Lately, many pro-lifers have been frustrated with Trump because he has offered them precious little in terms of commitments on abortion policy.[Snip]By simply raising concerns about the full implications of Amendment 4, Trump could win back the support of some skeptical pro-life voters. More importantly, he would be performing a valuable service for pro-lifers in Florida and across the country.
