So a leak from an unknown but trusted insider says Rubio is the Dems biggest threat to Diaper Joe. Which means the Dems internal polls should Rubio doing the least to help Trump and the most to help Diaper Joe.

Rubio is a great speaker and would make a good choice but my memory recalls that he has difficulty speaking any Spanish or was that Russian disinformation?

President Trump can make up for all of the bad appointments he made during his first term - - by selecting Ron De Santis as his running mate this time. De Santis has been an excellent governor and he would make an excellent president. He foolishly allowed his over-ambitious wife to talk him into running against President Trump this year - - a really dumb blunder - - but if he promises to keep her in the kitchen - - De Santis would be the best choice.

Rubio is definitely a premium candidate, with gravitas, poise, experience, and intellect. His ethnicity would definitely be an asset to the ticket. Finally, imagine Rubio and Harris in a debate - the SPCA might have to intervene.

Not true, #6. At one time it was a Constitutional no-no, but the 12th amendment changed that. Now it’s just tradition. The left threw tradition out the window decades ago. If Trump wants to pick someone from Florida I’d rather it be Byron Donalds. Florida needs DeSantis right where he is.

All good choices. Our little world in in a precarious state. A fresh, honest re-start with someone with courage of convictions might be good for the country-world, as in J. D. Vance. Lots of people care.

Does anyone really think that Rubio would carry on MAGA after Trump? He seems to be a nice guy, but remember how he crumbled before Chris Christie in the debate? He's a good speaker, but I don't trust him to stand firm when Conservative values are under fire. My guy is JDV. He's an outsider, an accomplished businessman, a Midwesterner, a country guy, and open about his past. He went to Washington to make a difference; not to get rich. That sounds like a Trump guy to me.

#8, If Trump picked Rubio or any other Florida resident, one of them would have to move or the electors from Florida could not vote for both. From the 12th Amendment, "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves". This is why Dick Cheney moved his official residence from Texas back to Wyoming when GW Bush picked him in 2000. Now, I like Rubio, but if Trump picked him, Trump would have to move. I guess he could move to NJ and have Bedminister as his official residence. But this is an issue that would have to be dealt with before the election.

Although I believe Rubio would make an excellent VP, choosing somebody from the same state would be a mistake. Nikki Haley would be an excellent alternative choice. However,Trump may have burned that bridge with his over the top attacks on her during the primaries.

Biden is self-destructing and spelling his own end. It has not yet been reported but the DNC has to have a plan B in place for when Joe falls on his face for the last time before November. Nikki Haley started that bridge on fire from the other end, Trump lit his end and the fires will meet in the middle. Her career is over. Trump has at least four great choices out of that final group of seven and there isn't another Pence among them.

Trump probably does not need help carrying Florida so I do not see why he should pick someone from that state. Not to mention the constitutional issues on top of that. I also remember Rubio being part of various 'bipartisan' deals that benefited Democrats over Republicans. So, no thanks. Rubio is probably a Washington insider at this point. Doubt he can be trusted. Look elsewhere Mr. President.

I still like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She was good in the Trump WH, now has executive experience as governor of Arkansas. Trump will only have 4 years so he needs someone who can continue for another 8 years as we need to realized change happens slowly in DC so need to have a long-range plan not expect things will change after the election which is a common problem for Republicans not realizing the Democrats don't want to change things as they like things the way they are and will resist and fight to maintain the current status quo.

#8. 12th amendment The electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves. I suppose it is possible to have them both from Florida, but then Florida would lose all it’s representation in the electoral college.

Hit submit too soon. There are many misconceptions about the rules of a president choosing their running mate. There’s no law or regulation against a president and vice president of the United States being from the same state. The reason why some people mistakenly believe such a prohibition exists comes down to a particular aspect of the Electoral College system laid out in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. Article II states: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.” The restriction involves the Electoral College.

Puerto Rico congressional representative Jenniffer González defeated Gov. Pedro Pierluisi in a surprise upset during a primary election held Sunday by their pro-statehood party. The two ran on the same ticket four years ago under the New Progressive Party, but González, a Republican, announced her plan to challenge Pierluisi, a Democrat, in early December. Public jabs between the two turned acrimonious during the campaign. Puerto Rico’s main political parties are divided by the island’s political status, so it’s common to find both Republicans and Democrats within the same party.

The Democratic National Committee was watching earlier this year as campaigns nationwide were experimenting with artificial intelligence. So the organization approached a handful of influential party campaign committees with a request: Sign onto guidelines that would commit them to use the technology in a “responsible” way. The draft agreement, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, was hardly full of revolutionary ideas. It asked campaigns to check work by AI tools, protect against biases and avoid using AI to create misleading content.

The people of Israel are peace-loving. They do not eagerly seek to join battles, they do not desire to destroy and kill. Even so, they once again find themselves forced to defend their homeland, their faith, and their right to live in peace. Perturbingly, they are besieged by those who deny their right to exist. Terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and ISIS, in contrast, appear to be driven by aggression, at times even a lust for violence, believed by many to be divinely sanctioned. At this time, however, Israelis seem to be alone in their task, and continually faced with obstacles their so-called allies place in the way of swift victory.

The conventional wisdom concerning vice-presidential picks is that they don’t really matter because voters focus on the top of the ticket in presidential elections. This is ordinarily true, but 2024 is no ordinary election. This time the winner will be the oldest president ever inaugurated, so it’s eminently possible that his vice-president will be called on to finish his term.
