GOP Rep. Bill Johnson (OH) on Tuesday announced he will be resigning from Congress.
As TGP’s Kristinn Taylor reported, the resignation from the House by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) took effect Sunday.
Following the resignation of McCarthy and Bill Johnson and the ousting of George Santos, the Republicans will be left with a razor-thin majority of 219-213 by January 21. Assuming full attendance, the Republicans can only afford to lose two votes on any measure.
GOP Rep. George Santos was expelled from the House of Representatives last month. 105 RINOs joined the Democrats and voted to oust Santos.

Whatever happened to the honorable concept of 'making a commitment'? Jerk. You'd think he could hang in for just a 2-year term! Guess that university president gig was too lucrative to resist....follow the money!!

When reviewing resumes, I was always skeptical of applicants eho never stayed at any firm for very long. This told me that either they were incompetent or were just using you to get a better deal and weren't really willing to make a serious commitment to the organization. Never trust people like that.

This is not a co-inky-dink. GOP folks see the brakes on this bus have completely failed, and so very close to the big cliff.

RE#2. No. Vacant congressional seats are filled with either a special election or during the next election cycle. Only Senators can be appointed to fill a vacancy until the next election.
Senators represent the states, congressmen represent the voters. Or that's how it's supposed to work. What it has devolved to is elected officials represent the interests of their political party.

It may be razor-thin but I've always preferred quality over quantity. McCarthy and Santos were both bums.

Almost as if the GOP is going to hand the Democrats the House so they avoid blame and claim powerlessness to stop what is going to happen before November.

This is by design. The dems and GOPe know that Trump is a foregone conclusion in November, so they're focusing on taking back the House.

Republicans do not want the majority. That is the only explanation for them giving it away. Democrats aren't quitting or impeaching their members.

Universities are nests of Marxists/Liberals. My guess is Deep State connections gave incentives to Youngstown to offer him the job. He's clearly a money-grubbing jerk to resign at a time like this.

If you will remember about 40 Republicans House members retired before Trump’s midterm election and gave the House to Pelosi and No Trump Republicans. They destroyed the second half of his term. Are the Anti-Trump Republicans trying to destroy the Republican House Majority and give it back to Pelosi now?

So now WE know the rat's game...take back the house by convincing marginal republicans to resign...and giving the house back to the democrats to finish destroying our country....the rat's are terrified that biden will be impeached and they can stop it by taking control....

Establishment republicans - again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Jobs offered to the razor thin majority to whittle them down to losing the house after McCarthy stabbed Americans in the back by taking his ball and leaving.

who says the repubs in congress don't know how to lose when victory is a possibility
- these idiots couldn't open a peanut butter jar without the help of a demcommie and
- I wouldn't mind and
- could live with their incompetence if the national temper wasn't so explosive

Weasels and skunks often have two feet instead of 4! The GOP is only as strong as our weakest link so you see now how temporal our control is.
What happened to the idea of patriotic commitment? You took the job to serve your country ... have the courtesy to keep it until the term is officially up! Say you're not running again but don't resign!
If this guy isn't very ill and wants to die in peace and quiet then there is no excuse for quitting under fire. That's what cowards and traitors do.
He is either being blackmailed or was bribed.
