In just over two minutes, the story of a man puttering around in his tool shed will reduce many of us to a sobbing mess. So, here's your warning in advance: have that box of tissues at the ready! RedState is no stranger to the magic of emotional Christmas season commercials. Readers might still remember the one my colleague Joe Cunningham shared in 2022 from Chevy. And Chevy followed it up in 2023 with this one, via Nick Arama. It tells the story of a family dealing with the scourge of Alzheimer's, and how a daughter lovingly makes sure that her mother and father have a wonderful Christmas together.

I couldn’t get it to load but whatever no commercial could get me ever buy a Government Motors vehicle again.Although it’s refreshing to see a commercial featuring White people again.Maybe companies are again remembering that it’s a good idea to target commercials to people who actually buy your product.

“ Must be the third or fourth or fifth article here about this damnably manipulative commercial advertisement for vehicles built by a company largely owned by the Communist Chinese Party and from foreign sourced parts. Do not be fooled, these people want you dead and your childrens children enslaved to them for generations... ”

Not an effective advertisement. I did not realize what it was an ad for until I read the comments. Bring on the Budweiser Clydesdales.

Tears, yes. Plenty. The only thing that would bring more tears is realizing my Fortune 100 employer's HR department would ban it because the depiction ain't Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive enuf, no w'am sayin'?

How much money do these Corporate fools pay for such tripe? Do they really think emotional, teary-eyed commercials will cause lemming-like movement into showrooms nationwide, while the average truck price hovers around more than most people make in a year, and while the overall cost of owning a new vehicle has ballooned over the past 20 years? The people who make these ads do so in a bubble, while Mahogany Hall Executives, who approve such ads, have long ago become oblivious to the wants, needs, and means of Joe and Jane Public in Everytown, USA. It used to be that car companies produced ads like they did for the 1965 Ford Mustang, or the 1969 Pontiac GTO, or the 1970 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup, which flooded showrooms with butts looking for seats, but not today. Today these washed up, has-been husks of once mighty corporations, rely entirely on showing restored examples of their "golden year" vehicles in an attempt to remind people of what they once stood for - hulking, land yachts with more horsepower than a Sherman Tank, guzzling premium leaded gas like there was no tomorrow, with terrible handling and even worse passenger safety... Ah yes, the good old days, thanks for reminding me not to buy from you.

I think I have become immune to the new manipulative commercials to the point that they only anger and disgust me like that goofy woman who has to point out all of her dirty body parts to push her Lume product or the obese gal dancing because she controls her diabetes well by being 350 lbs. If GM ever wants to sell me a car they would build the '65 Corvette again and sell it for under $6000 like they did in 1965.

I don't know what the rest of you saw. The ad I was was about a man, working at lifting a weight so that on Christmas he could lift his grand daughter to put the star ( his gift to her ) on the Christmas tree.

There are many old men in my family. I'm pretty sure this would have ended with a broken toe or a fall from loss of balance.....but it was sweet to watch.

I took the video to be the same as #11 but it didn't make me teary-eyed though. I have to say I'm glad #10 feels the same way as I do about those cringy, cringy Lume ads. Yikes, they're really embarrassing to watch. And now this doctor(?) has developed Lume deodorant for men. I hate to see what those ads will be like!

It's a nice ad, but what are they selling??
And #10, I'm a fluffy woman and that dancing diabetic chick irritates me too. Diabetes kills people. It is NOT a time to be dancing and singing!!

I'm not given to emotion in commercials but I'm glad to see it. BUT what makes the annual Chevy commercials newsworthy is that it's so rare and unusual. I've given up on all broadcast media, and about to drop all my streaming services. I don't live in the advertisers' world.

I think it was a beautiful commercial. At the same time I agree with the other posters about the morbidly obese women that seem to be more and more in ads. If I wanted to see that I'd go to wal mart and dodge the electric wheelchairs.
The lume ads are disgusting. Not the 1st and probably wont be the last. It appears that bad taste has no limits.

Never heard of Lume, thankfully. But it is evident that without cell phones, insurance, drugs, and pickup trucks, the NFL would cease to exist.
