Disney CEO Bob Iger blamed the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s recent failures on lack of executive management on-set. He spoke Wednesday at the New York Times DealBook Summit that came on the heels of the MCU’s latest box office flop, “The Marvels.” Iger noted the on-set team was lacking during the peak of COVID and has continued to be a weak point. (snip) Iger blamed the decline on restrictions imposed on the studio when COVID was running rampant. “There wasn’t as much supervision on the set, so to speak, where we have executives there really looking over what’s being done day after day after day,” he said.

How would executives have made the movie watchable? Seems to me they make it worse because they are so out of touch with hundreds of millions of Americans. I would think they would have figured out by now woke is not what we want to see.

Yeah it was lack of mentality ill executive management on-set, that is why it flopped. I believe this is classic denial, where his cognitive dissonance is has completely distorted his perception of reality. It is a quite common condition suffered by those on the Left.

The Disney Executives in the Board Room weren't preventing disasters in all other things Disney, so putting them on a movie set wouldn't improve a thing. "DEI" kills everything it touches.

lol, no Bob. It’s because “put three chicks in it and make them gay” works even well than “put a chick in it and make her gay”. Thr audience for a superhero movie are 12 year old boys. They don’t want to see a dour skinny lesbian, a horsey ugly lesbian, and an ugly fat lesbian on screen.

Bob, your executives are bean counters, at best, SJWs at worst. They could no more change a piece of dirt into a diamond, than fly to the moon by flapping their arms. Creativity is chaotic, and unrestrained, true. It must be guided and limited or it only reflects the fantasies of chaotic unrestrained adults. The trouble is you people encourage the worst from your artists. You're lacking in self control. You will achieve, nothing. There is a reason Walt was successful. The characters of his studios were human. The good were, if not good themselves, redeemable, eventually conforming to the highest ethical standards that our successful Jude-Christian society embodied: Hopefulness, Joyfull, unselfish, and generous. The bad were unrestrained monsters that did their worst offscreen. You heard the results but it was left to your imagination how horrible they were. You saw them attempt to restrain the protagonists to continue their evil... and fail. Your executives don't know how to do that. They sympathies more with the villain than the individual with whom the audience sympathizes. Instead of exercising control, you push for your most abhorant desires. There is a reason actor's prefer to play the "interesting villains" and not the boring heroes. Your job is to restrain that, not encourage it. So you fail. And fail. And fail.

The liberal crazies, from actor Rob Reiner to the once conservative but now ideologue-for-sale Joe Scarborough, have their knickers in a knot over the potential that America may drift into “fascism” upon the possible election of former President Donald Trump in 2024. How deliciously ironic that these leftists express concern over phantom fascism in the future as they look the other way while their Grand Poobah, President Joe Biden , is laying out a clinic on fascist tactics. This is the same Biden administration that has actually brought criminal charges against its political enemies. Trump never did so, even though he had ample opportunity and justification against Hillary Clinton.

The 1st U.S. District Court of Appeals upheld Florida’s congressional map on Friday, reversing a prior court's ruling over concerns that the map violated racial representation requirements as outlined in Florida law. The previous ruling claimed that the congressional map reduces the ability of black voters to pick a representative in northern Florida. However, the appeals court determined the ruling had placed a “racial segregation mandate” into the Florida Constitution that did not exist. “The constitution cannot demand that all voters are treated equally without regard to race and at the same time demand that voters are treated differently based on race,” the ruling said.
