News surfaced over the weekend that a daycare center in Germany would be removing Anne Frank's name at the behest of "parents with migrant backgrounds." Frank is, of course, one of the most well-known victims of the Holocaust, and her diary is considered to be an important documentation of the plight of European Jews during World War II. The "Anne Frank" daycare center in Tangerhütte, Germany, which has reportedly been in operation for decades, will be getting the name change because, according to the daycare center's director, "parents with migrant backgrounds feel uncertain about the name and find it challenging to explain to their children."

Washington — The House voted to censure Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, after her defense of a rallying cry that is widely regarded as calling for the elimination of Israel.
The censure resolution introduced by Georgia Rep. Rich McCormick condemns the Michigan Democrat for "promoting false narratives" around the Oct. 7 terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel and "calling for the destruction of the state of Israel." Ohio voters approved a ballot measure Tuesday night that will effectively outlaw any restrictions on abortion and other procedures that involve reproduction, including gender-transition surgeries.
The measure, known as Issue 1, will also remove parental-consent and notification requirements for minors who undergo the procedures.
The amendment includes vague language about prohibiting any law that “directly or indirectly” would “burden” or “interfere” with “reproductive decisions.” Opponents of the measure argue it would also outlaw nearly any restrictions on abortion or other reproduction-related procedures,
CBS News projects that Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has been reelected to a second term, defeating the state's Republican Attorney General Daniel Cameron.
Beshear has been a popular governor, with broad approval of his handling of the pandemic and natural disasters in the state. Cameron tried to tie Beshear to President Biden, who is unpopular in the state.
Trump won Kentucky by 26 points in 2020, so Beshear had to make inroads with Trump voters and ensure voters in Democratic districts, including the cities of Louisville and Lexington and the Cincinnati suburbs in northern Kentucky.
The FBI has been alerted about a series of threatening antisemitic emails sent to University of Pennsylvania staff. The agency is working with university police, according to UPenn President Liz Magill.

A Jewish student was assaulted in an antisemitic attack at the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst (my parents taught there in the 1980s and 90s, and it is in contention for the ugliest campus in America). He was attending a vigil for the Israeli hostages held by Hamas when an aggressive student began harassing attendees.
After the vigil was over the aggressor punched the other student, spit on the Israeli flag, and was subsequently arrested. The arrestee is out on bail and is barred from entering the campus. At least that much has happened.
