Robert Bigelow, the biggest individual donor supporting the presidential campaign of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), told Reuters he would not be donating any more money unless DeSantis makes a more moderate shift and attracts new major donors.
Bigelow is DeSantis’s biggest donor by a longshot. The Bigelow Aerospace founder donated $20 million to the pro-DeSantis Never Back Down PAC in March. The next closest donor is venture capitalist Douglas Leone, who donated $2 million, a tenth of Bigelow’s contribution.

Of course! If there's one thing we need most during these harrowing, dangerous times it's more moderation.
Ball's in your court, Governor.

Given DeSantis’ new lies about the 2020 election he is obviously dancing for his political masters.

The elites like DeSantis (and just about anyone but Trump) because they can control him with their money. That goes for both parties. Bigelow is just pulling the reins to remind everyone who controls the purse strings.

We see an American tragedy unfolding before our eyes. Ron DeSantis has been a successful and well loved and rightly appreciated governor. He has great management skills and has shown he can get a tough job done, last year's hurricane being an amazing performance. He was a terrific and promising star in our conservative movement. At almost 45 years of age, like many of us at that age, he was coming into his own, developing his skills, his persona and who he will be for the next decades. He was the country's next best hope. Sadly, Theodore Dreiser would have a field day with the very short story of Ron DeSantis.
He was lured with the promise of the presidency, by a group of wealthy deep staters and traitorous republicans who cannot abide Donald J. Trump and we the people, his supporters. Tragically for all, he took the bait and is now a flailing and drowning candidate being manhandled by his funders. It is sickening that DeSantis allows himself to be molested by a creep such as this Robert Bigelow character who, while not saying the words outright, believes MAGA is extremist. In Heaven's name, what is extremist about loving and wanting the best for your country?
At 72 years of age, I am disheartened and deeply disappointed in my judgement that DeSantis, given time, would become as strong, decisive and talented as President Trump. I pray that he will have a turn around in the next few years, heck the next few months, and see how important it is for him, for his family, for our country to support and defend unequivocally President Trump and discard the Bigelows and the rot they offer. Given time and testing, I still believe DeSantis can become a great leader. But for now, he must choose between his ambition and his country. This, perhaps is his greatest test.

I'm not voting for a candidate that is beholding to a few big donors. When he gets elected he'll be marching to the puppet master's tune not the voters'.

This is why Trump so deeply terrifies the Uniparty Deep State Criminal Cabal. Until now, whoever ran, they could control them via the funding. Don't dance to their tune, NO money and you're done.
But Trump has his own money, and tens of millions of small donors. He doesn't dance to their tune, and he calls a crooked DoJ and crooked FBI what they are. And this scares the holy hell out of them - something that they have never seen before, and a person they CANNOT CONTROL.
They are desperate to stop him. Frightened and desperate.

we're getting to look like pre-Revolutionary France prior to 1789 and as long as the liberal rich want to control the narrative of any situation, the politicians will bend over and make it happen

So, it's the murdering the unborn babies issue, huh? Way to go Ron. You insult the leading candidate, President Trump and now you're going to insult the Pro-Life crowd? If you can't stand up to these billionaires, what makes you think you can stand up to China or Putin's Russia? Get a backbone.

Sanctimonious is a fool and should never be in the White House making tough decisions....in his case it would be corporate America making the decisions...just as they are now...thanks to Halfrican obama....anyone else notice that obama is never called president obama...or biden never called President biden...BUT... everyone calls President Trump...President Trump because he IS OUR President...he won it fair and square in 2020 and everyone knows it....

Somebody has to say something very unpopular here.
Trump wants DeSantis, the only real threat to his nomination, out of the way. Democrats think Trump is eminently beatable and fear DeSantis would be a stronger candidate. I get a little nervous when it appears that both Trump and Biden want DeSantis squashed.
As for Mr. Moneybags dumping on the governor and DeSantis saying something sacrilegious on 2020--the hysteria generated by these events is out of all proportion to their importance. In my view, and it has evolved, DeSantis, who used to be a heroic figure on our side, is now the devil for daring to run against Trump. And the Dems are laughing at us for torching the one person who can beat them and actually run a campaign against them instead of spending the next year defending himself against, yes, scurrilous charges.
The base is with Trump all the way, but you can't win the general with just the base.

#17 - With deep respect for your long-standing presence and stature on this site, as well as your courage to go against the current opinion regarding nominating President Trump or Governor DeSantis, I must disagree. Quite simply, if President Trump is not restored to the White House, there will be no point to have Ron DeSantis or any other Republican there. DeSantis is probably a good guy, a fine husband and a great father. But he's weak and has been bought by the Uniparty.
I'm a bit surprised you don't see the "yes/no" question here. This time, it is either Trump or the Uniparty wins. It is either Trump and the Constitution; or the Uniparty and a government by executive order/congressional committees. The Republican Party is splitting apart. Those of us that are tired of the inaction, the false promises and colluding with Democrats have had enough. No more compromises. It's Trump all the way. God love ya. But I have to disagree with you.

#17, I love ya, buddy. I miss your skits. I'm on my 20th year here as a poster and commenter and so have you if not longer than me. At least we both understand that America, as founded, is all but dead. Yes, it is a bit odd that both biden the cheater and DeS want Trump out of the way. Have you ever wondered why the dims, deep state, rino pubbies, msm, globalists, the chicoms, and the Iranians do, too? Hint - no one else has uttered the magic words - "I love America as founded". Besides, it is just a matter of time who gets to witness the aftermath of America's destruction from behind the Resolute Desk in November 2024, right? Better to have Trump witness the aftermath, DeS, or {fill in the blank}?
Humor us with another conversational political skit sometime!

Never Back Down PAC? And yet he only went several hours after this announcement about the donor before he caved. You sure can see the Bush/Rove greasy fingerprints all over this mess.

Yes, #20, we go way back. I'm too depressed about the state this country is in to find any humor in it. And how can you parody a parody.
I respect no one on this site more than #17. She was right about Trump the first time around long before most people. We disagree about DeSantis now, but that's ok. I respect her position and her passion for a return of Trump to the Oval Office. I hope she's right. I hope lucianne staffers allow this, but I tried e mailing Timber Queen to say hello a few years back but the e mail address I had for her didn't work.
I'd love to hear from you--not to debate Trump vs DeSantis but just to connect with an old friend. You either have my e mail from years ago or can find it on my book page on Amazon--"You Hear Me,Barack? PC-Free Conservative Satire."
