The June federal indictment of Donald Trump is “radicalizing” support for the use of force on behalf of the former president and current presidential candidate, according to the author of a recent survey about threats to democracy.Meanwhile, on the other side of the aisle, support for violence to restore the federal right to an abortion has also increased over the last few months, researchers found, although there’s little indication that any organized groups support acting on this belief

This has been the default position of leftists for decades. Only newsworthy when 'news organs' can accuse conservatives of what they have been guilty of. Pure projection.

The time is getting really close. In fact I am surprised some nut job hasn't set about to rid the U.S of it's political enemies already. To harass and pile onto a former President, one who did a great job, because of fear he may return to office is way beyond something that should be tolerated in a free country. I cannot speak for others, but as for myself I am totally disgusted with the FBI, the Justice Department, the attorney general and all of those involved in this horrendous abuse of power. The democrats used J-6 to deter Conservative free speech, and to show Conservatives their ability to stop Conservatives from free demonstrations in Washington, then they began this program to imprison a candidate for the Presidency. All features of the third world countries and their population which they are allowing to walk across our borders. Their plan appears to be to fill us with third world people and third world idea's and destroy democracy while accusing us of it. Soon it will be time to make the decision of whether or not our country is worth fighting for.

It's "The Guardian". Believe little. The REAL "danger to democracy" is the Democrat (read Marxist) Party and their insane, destuctive, anti-American policies.

Yep. And this cuts both ways. This is why I will be surprised if Civil War 2.0 doesn't eventually start. Too many "Americans" have absolutely nothing in common with Americans of my father and grandfather's generation and are actively working to destroy the country. They need to be gone, one way or another.

As pointed out by others, it is from the Guardian. The "study" was done by the University of Chicago's "Chicago Project on Security & Threats." Certainly no bias there, right? /s This paragraph shows they have no bias: /sarc off "Still, a radicalized public isn’t enough for actual violence to occur, Pape said. He compared the support to kindling, but said Trump would have to give a speech or rally inciting people to act at a certain time to light the fire, as he did in Washington DC on 6 January 2021."

I am not in favor of "political violence", but good grief! The way the left physically attacks conservatives generally, pro-lifers, sitting Supreme Court Justices, Republican US Senators e.g., Rand Paul, persons wearing Trump or MAGA gear, persons who say or publish something(s) the left doesn't like, etc., etc., if those persons who are attacked, especially in the face of police non-feasance, were to meet force with force we could easily have something resembling a civil war. Not a good situation at all. Look at how many poor Kyle Rittenhouse had to take under fire before the mob left him alone. Many of the leftists' victims are elderly, too.

At the end of the movie Amadeus, Mozart is shown on his deathbed, frantically trying to complete his Requiem Mass, a work that may be more beloved around the world than ever before, three centuries later. "Requiem" means "may they rest," as an ancient prayer to whatever divinity our ancestors believed in, hoping and praying that the newly dead would rest in peace, as a heavenly reward for their virtues in life, and as a petition for forgiveness for their sins in this life. And also as a nice way to say, "Good to see you again, now go away, and stop haunting us."

Stein’s Law holds that “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.” The late Herbert Stein made the observation about economic trends, but his axiom perfectly describes Joe Biden’s shaky dance with political death. The president is trying to navigate a narrow path between two potential disasters. Each one could prove fatal to his tenure, but if the twain shall meet, he doesn’t have a prayer. And it’s a near certainty they will meet because the facts we already know are overwhelmingly stacked against him and more damaging information is coming soon. One track of his predicament stems from general public unhappiness with his performance.

A Pew Research poll released July 20 found that 70% of Democrats think the government should restrict what appears on social media, a dramatic change from five years ago when a majority of Democrats supported a free marketplace of ideas. It's no wonder, considering the drumbeat of warnings from leftist politicians and their liberal media allies about "disinformation" and "misinformation." But be warned: Democracy cannot survive for long if one of the nation's two major political parties wants to put blinders on the public, limiting their access to information and canceling political opponents. That's a rigged system. Ask the Iranians, Russians or Chinese.

First son Hunter Biden’s legal team appeared to pull a dirty trick Tuesday to block the release of damning evidence ahead of his expected guilty plea to federal charges of tax evasion and weapons crimes. The drama began in the morning when the House Ways and Means Committee filed an amicus brief to Delaware US District Judge Maryellen Noreika arguing that the 53-year-old had benefited from “political interference which calls into question the propriety of the investigation” into alleged crimes including money laundering, felony tax evasion and failure to register as a foreign agent.

Vivek Ramaswamy didn’t attract all that much attention when he launched his presidential bid in February. A 37-year-old multimillionaire who made his fortune working at a hedge fund and then as a biotechnology entrepreneur, Ramaswamy had never served in government and was new to politics. He began making a name for himself as an “anti-woke” crusader, but it wasn’t a name that most Republican voters had heard about. But that’s changing. Ramaswamy has blanketed the early-state trail as well as both conservative and mainstream media, embracing a strategy that has him omnipresent in the Republican presidential primary.

The deterioration of traditional cultural norms and the social upheaval that’s followed — from the living room to classroom the boardroom — is no surprise to Ayn Rand scholars. The political maelstrom swirling around coronavirus vaccines may be to blame for a higher rate of excess deaths among registered Republicans in Ohio and Florida during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study published Monday. The report in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine underscores the partisan divide over coronavirus vaccines that have saved lives but continued to roil American politics even as the pandemic has waned. Yale University researchers found that registered Republicans had a higher rate of excess deaths than Democrats in the months following when vaccines became available for all adults in April 2021. The study does not directly attribute the deaths to covid-19.

Having learned no lessons from the nationwide uprising that exploded last September following the brutal killing in custody of the young Kurdish girl Mahsa Amini, the Iranian regime’s misogynist morality police are on the move again. Last week, the Tehran Criminal Court sentenced a woman to two months in prison for hijab violations. The judge, Ali Omidi, accused her of “anti-Iranian behavior.” In a more sinister outburst, he also ordered that she should be subjected to compulsory health checks, as her failure to wear the hijab was a clear display of “disease” symptoms that “must be treated.” Such claims are frighteningly reminiscent of judgements in the former Soviet Union,

When it comes to Iran, discerning observers are usually fixated on the contentious nuclear issue, as well as Tehran’s unabated sponsorship of terrorism. However, recently, a conspicuous spotlight was cast on the intricate internal dynamics, capturing the attention of the global community. Following engagements with the regime, both European and American governments made a consequential decision to assuage the regime’s sensibilities by ascending to one of its paramount demands: imposing constraints on the activities of the principal opposition. The prompt failure of these efforts has shed light on fundamental realities, deserving of profound contemplation by Western policymakers.

When Joe Biden tapped Kamala Harris to be his running mate in 2020, it was perhaps the most easily predicted vice presidential choice in recent memory. Biden had made it clear that after emerging from the most diverse Democratic presidential candidate field in history, he would select a woman to join him on the ticket. The dynamics of the Democratic Party, which relies heavily on the votes of African American women to win elections, made it seem likely that Biden would select a running mate from this demographic group, especially as the murder of George Floyd brought race issues to the top of the public agenda.
