The Left has killed our great cities

Mark down Tuesday, April 4, as the night Chicago died. That’s when we learned that Second City voters narrowly elected Brandon Johnson as their next mayor. This is a city that was flattened during the reign of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who lost in the first round of voting for Chicago mayor because she didn’t finish in one of the top two spots. Lightfoot, elected in 2019 after a career as a federal prosecutor who then held several appointed positions in Chicago, shut down the city for more than a year during COVID-19. She also bankrupted small businesses, allowed rioters to burn down whole neighborhoods, presided over the worst crime wave

Blame the left...but the fact is that cities have been the playgrounds of Dems and socialists, ararchists, unionists, and other do-gooders for more than a century. They were the economic center of regions, attracting many to their streets paved with gold as there were jobs, and good paying jobs. And then came the reckoning as industries collapsed and moved on to faraway lands in search of cheaper, more agreeable labor, or consolidated and closed less productive plants. With that the cities became havens of the poor, unable to support their infrastructure with falling populations and shrinking tax bases.

From what I've heard, only 34% of voters voted in the election. If city voters aren't willing to get off the rearends and vote to try and improve their city, why should anyone that doesn't live in the city care? This appears to be a severe case of apathy on the part of the city residents of Chicago.

#2 Sad, but the voters' only get to choose amongst/between the candidates the political parties offer and in most major cities that means who the dim party offers. To wit - no choice. I wouldn't waste my time voting either

Apart from Christ's return, nothing will change as long as public employees remain able to unionize and use those funds politically.

Sure, everything said plays a part in these corrupt democratic run cities. But, the biggest failures are in the home. Morals, values, respect for authority and faith in God all start in the home, and in these democratic crime ridden cities the parents have been the biggest failures. 90% of these parents can't even help their kids with school work and most don't even know where their kids are at night. Fact of the matter is, if you take these democratic run cities out of the equation, this country would have no crime problem and no gun problems. Problem is, everybody is afraid to connect the dots. Got it..

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has missed 60 of 82 votes taken this year, and her absence has prompted a whispering campaign suggesting she step down so that the Senate can confirm as many of Biden’s radical left judges as possible. Feinstein has been home since March 7 after being hospitalized for a bout of shingles. The Senate, which has been in recess since March 31, is set to reconvene on April 17. At that time, the Judiciary Committee will take up several judicial nominations, and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) believes that Feinstein’s absence will impede the Committee’s ability to vote the judges out. “I can’t consider nominees in these circumstances,

As Russia and Ukraine prepare for spring offensives, this year could prove the war’s most decisive yet. The weeks preceding an expected military event of this magnitude are often rife with rumor, much of it deliberately spread by the combatants themselves as disinformation. This is hallowed tradition. Following Soviet maskirovka doctrine, the campaign to destroy the German 6th Army at Stalingrad in 1942 was accompanied by misdirection. In those days it was relatively straightforward, consisting of signals deception, false messages, and fake units designed to convince the Germans to put their defenses in the wrong place. But as Russian doctrine developed, maskirovka (which means “a little masquerade”)

Americans are fleeing blue states, and especially blue cities, in historic numbers. Can things possibly get worse? They can, indeed they can. Take San Francisco. Things are so bad there that Whole Foods, an iconic liberal company, has shut its flagship store in that city after just one year of operation, due to rampant crime and drug use that, the company said, made it impossible to assure the safety of its employees. But when it comes to commercial real estate, San Francisco, while very bad, is not the bottom of the barrel. John Phelan reports on a series of corporate departures from Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Biden administration unveiled the most aggressive tailpipe emissions ever crafted as part of its sweeping climate agenda and efforts to push Americans to buy electric vehicles (EV). The vehicle pollution standards, proposed Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and announced by the White House, will impact car model years 2027 through 2032. The White House said the regulations would "protect public health" by achieving carbon emission reductions of nearly 10 billion tons by 2055 and would save consumers an average of $12,000 over the lifetime of vehicles. "Cars and truck manufacturers have made clear that the future of transportation is electric," the White House stated in a fact sheet.

We are in a battle between good and evil, but evil cannot be honest about its true nature so it must lie. The New Saint Andrews College recently produced a very powerful video entitled LIES, with the thesis that lies lose all their power when the deceived become wise. With laughter being the best weapon against these lies, it’s the ‘assault weapon’ of choice in the cultural civil war in which we are engaged. This is why the fascist far-left hates President Trump, Tucker Carlson, and others -- because they puncture their lies and have a good time doing it. The forces of freedom have lightness and laughter

The intense opposition to Mulvaney promoting the beer has been alarming to Anheuser-Busch distributors, which placed fewer orders after the partnership sparked outrage from conservatives who argued the company is pushing “gender propaganda,” according to a Beer Business Daily report reviewed by Fox News. “We reached out to a handful of A-B [Anheuser-Busch] distributors who were spooked, most particularly in the Heartland and the South, and even then in their more rural areas,” the popular beer industry trade publication wrote. I wanted to lead this article off with a Courtney Love quote that I read years ago, but I couldn’t find it. So I’ll paraphrase it. Love once told an interviewer that she had to learn the difference between honesty and candor, and she explained that honesty is telling the truth, while candor is telling the truth in a way that could offend. She said it much more colorfully, but the point is still valid. And one Florida lawmaker may have learned that lesson the hard way, especially when it comes to the transgender madness that’s sweeping the nation. Florida’s HB 1521, currently under debate in the legislature, addresses people

Chicago's incoming liberal mayor has already raised eyebrows by blaming the city's poverty problems and surging crime rates on businesses that don't pay tax. Brandon Johnson, a former union organizer who was elected on Tuesday, said the city doesn't have money to solve its problem because '70 percent of large corporations in the state of Illinois don't pay a corporate tax'. 'It's that type of restraint on our budget that has caused the type if disinvestment that has led to poverty, of course that has led to violence,' said Johnson, who didn't give the source for his claim. If only we can give enough money, the left moans, then all will be fixed, all will be healed, and we can live in racial harmony. Think of the absurdity and mental gymnastics of reparations. History may someday record today as the beginning of the end of the internal combustion engine – and of individual liberty in the U.S. According to news reports, the EPA is scheduled to release proposed auto emissions standards today on new car sales so stringent that the only way for automakers to meet them would be to shift two-thirds of their fleet to electric. But wait. How can a regulatory agency do that? Consumers aren’t demanding electric cars. Lawmakers didn’t vote to force them on the public. The Environmental Protection Agency knows better, though, and, unless it’s neutered, plans to force EVs on you – for your own good.

Haley’s campaign manager Betsy Ankney wrote the memo. Mostly she ripped into Trump’s “drama” but she made sure to include her opinion on Governor DeSantis, too. She did not, however, mention Governor Asa Hutchinson or Vivek Ramaswamy by name who have officially entered the GOP primary race. Governor DeSantis has not officially entered the race but that isn’t stopping the others from jumping ugly on him.
