Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the Windy City, there is yet another election that will have residents blowing out for greener pastures.
Brandon Johnson, a radical socialist candidate, defeated moderate Democrat Paul Vallas in the race to replace Chicago mayor/Beetlejuice-lookalike Lori Lightfoot. As noted by journalist Andy Ngo, Johnson had called for “removing law enforcement from society. During the 2020 riots, he defended looters, saying they were lashing out against racism.”

A few years ago, I posted this riddle on Twitter: What’s easier to roll than an Easter egg? Answer: Donald Trump. Now, I can add: What’s easier to roll than Donald Trump? Answer: Republican voters. Democrats are playing Republicans like a fiddle. The left’s sole objective is to make Trump the Republicans’ 2024 presidential nominee. He’s already lost three election cycles for the GOP — why not make it four?

The chief executive of JP Morgan has suggested that governments should seize private land to build wind and solar farms in order to meet net zero targets. Jamie Dimon, the longstanding boss of the Wall Street titan who donates to the Democratic Party, said green energy projects must be fast-tracked as the window for averting the most costly impacts of global climate change is closing. (Snip) “We may even need to evoke eminent domain – we simply are not getting the adequate investments fast enough for grid, solar, wind and pipeline initiatives.”

MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes said Wednesday on his show “All In” that many people, including him, were “permanently scarred” by Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory.
Hayes said, “Even by the standards of our time, of this day and age in the avalanche of news and spectacle, this sort of dizzying clawing for your attention the last 24 hours have really been something else. So I want to begin tonight by just taking a second here to try to collectively just wrap our heads around the meaning and significance of what we have seen in the last 24 hours.”
He continued, “Of course, we have to begin with the biggest story,

Victor Davis Hanson on Tuesday called the prosecution of former President Donald Trump "the worst example of third-world election tampering." Hanson said prosecutors have the intent to get Trump enough empathy to win the nomination so they can come down on him and nullify his ability to run for president.
"What we're seeing is not the end of it," Hanson told Carlson. "Tonight was the very beginning. This is going to go on to three prosecutors for a year and a half, with the intent of getting just enough empathy for Donald Trump that he will be nominated and then see him gag-ordered and maybe even seeing him incarcerated to nullify

The FBI and other federal agents burst into the wrong Boston hotel room Tuesday night during a training exercise, startling the guest inside who had no idea what was going on as he was handcuffed. The incident occurred on the 15th floor of the Revere Hotel as agents were conducting a mock investigation. FBI agents were assisting the U.S. Department of Defense in a training exercise inside the hotel to simulate a situation that DOD personnel might encounter in a deployed environment.

Another contentious election, another voting machine controversy. As reported by local Fox affiliate WLUK, a voting machine in Green Bay broke down and needed to be replaced during Tuesday’s election.
“City clerk Celestine Jeffreys said the machine at the Green Bay Botanical Garden wasn’t working,” WLUK reported. “Backup machines also did not work.”The city had to borrow a voting machine from Brown County.
“Those machines had been serviced, so we have to take a much more close look after this election as to whether or not we need to purchase new machines

My introduction to San Francisco came in the late 1970s, when I spent a lot of time there as a young lawyer. For a Midwestern guy, the San Francisco of that era was a revelation: great restaurants, famous hotels on Nob Hill, fog drifting in off the Bay. But today’s San Francisco is, sadly, something else.
The San Francisco Chronicle has a long, long article about the city’s demise: “Downtown S.F. on the brink: It’s worse than it looks.” And it looks really bad. The numbers are grim:
"Don’t be fooled. The downtown area, the city’s primary economic driver, is teetering on the edge, facing challenges greater than

Now that we’ve seen what District Attorney Alvin Bragg has, the old Peggy Lee song comes to mind.
Is that all there is? Yes, that’s all there is.
The charges against Donald Trump are almost exactly as predicted.
They are weak and, most important, political.
As such, they are shockingly-blatant punishment for Trump daring to become president. In this sordid case, the letters D.A. stand for Democrat Attorney.
The charges are the crime.
Shame on Bragg for abusing his authority and turning his office into a partisan outpost.

Megyn Kelly is making her feelings clear after a man claiming to be a woman won a women’s professional golf tournament.
Over the weekend, Breanna Gill won the Australian Women’s Classic in the city of Bonville in New South Wales, according to WPGA Australia.
While little has been reported on Gill’s personal history, Golf Monthly and others have noted his transgender status.
Many on the left, naturally, will celebrate this as another momentous victory for the LGBT community. But sane-minded people will have a rather different take on the whole affair.
On Monday, Kelly went on social media to call out the charade. “This is a biological man,” the former Fox News host

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel described the loss of conservative candidate Daniel Kelly in Tuesday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election as “a messaging issue.”
“I will say something else. When you’re losing by 10 points there is a messaging issue. And abortion is still an issue. And we can’t allow the Democrats to define Republicans and put millions of dollars up in lies and have it go unanswered, because the lies become the truth if they go unanswered,” McDaniel said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom.”
