The Orwell Maneuver -This effort, which has bubbling along for, well, 43 years, got a big boost on March 18, when the The New York Times ran a story headlined “A Four-Decade Secret: One Man’s Story of Sabotaging Carter’s Re-election.” We can see the play:Did you hear about the effort by the left to delegitimize the election of the Republican president? No, not Donald Trump—we all know about the endless effort to impugn the validity of the 2016 presidential election. This is about another lefty effort, this time to delegitimize the 1980 presidential election which saw Republican Ronald Reagan defeat Democrat Jimmy Carter in a landslide.

Every seasoned veteran remembers the failed hostage rescue attempt where Carter ordered an insufficient numbers of helicopters to fly to Tehran in a sandstorm and one of them hit a huge C-130 transport plane on the ground during the mission cancellation and bugout, causing a huge fire with eight American deaths. Both Rangers and Delta were tasked with a high risk mission but sand does not mix well with things that fly. Books were written by personnel who were there, making it difficult to change that piece of history. Reagan was much sharper than Carter, even in his declining years, and the Iranians knew it so they released the hostages as soon as Reagan was elected.

If the slimes are revisiting history, don't forget to recall the Dims' total support of slavery, jim crow, and the kkk.

Jimmy Carter was going to get defeated in a LANDSLIDE during the election of 1980. The economy was in the toilet with interest rates in double digits, and Americans were not in a "malaise" as he put it..... the countenance of the nation was seeing that things were getting worse for them and their families.
That is one of the many reasons why it perplexes the hell out of the mass of Americans today-- how we could have mules and non counted votes and unfollowed elections laws to create a FRAUD national election, and how things are getting MUCH WORSE for the hard-working, God-fearing people to seemingly have no power of influence to see their unique American culture taken away from them and somehow see no possibility that after just a few years things could go MUCH WORSE for the future which throws out common sense for some sort of dystopian system where they are the pawn of the rich elites who only want money and power for themselves once they get entrenched.
Things were actually much better when Carter was President as per the future in hindsight. Ronaldus Magnus had to deal with two years of double-digit inflation before creating the biggest wave of good economic growth in the economy that lasted for decades before all this profligate spending began in GWB;s last two years and then doubling the debt under Pharoah NoBama and now the over the cliff spending of the Vegetable WITH THE HELP of entrenched RIMOcrats...
Meanwhile, Europe has been over run with moooslim 'migrants' and is putting the brakes on it while we invite and pay for invader ILLEGALS to sack us like the Goths, Visigoths and Vandals of ancient Rome...
Hindsight is very important and the media seems hellbent on ruining this nation.

Carter lost the election because he was Carter, an ignorant and weak liberal, who was a downer. In his campaign for human rights, he let the Shah get deposed giving the world the Ayatollah Khomeini Anzac an Islamic Republic. In other words, Carter, like any Democrat, was a screw up! There was no way he could have won re-election between the hostage crisis, oil prices, and sky high 12% inflation. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say!

"Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" That's what I remember from the election of 1980. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loBe0WXtts8

I was pleasantly surprised at how little attention this story received from the rest of the media. I thought it would be all over the news for the next week but saw almost nothing. Not sure why.

Re: The New York Times.
I usually stop reading anything about or in The Times. They have lied and covered up for the enemies of civilization for over a century. I already know a great deal about the Great Soviet Terror Famine of the 1930s. That said, we just found an AMAZING movie, Mr Jones. This movie is like a documentary of Gareth Jones, who managed to travel into the Ukraine in the middle of the Soviet Famine. Farmers and others in the Ukraine did not agree with Soviet collectivism, and millions paid with their lives for not joining in the great experiment. The movie also perfectly depicts the NYT Duranty as part of the evil and the lie that is communism.

Lets' see. American hostages held in the great vacation spot of Iran for 444 days under James Earl Carter Junior. (Incidentally we have another "junior" democrat president screwing up foreign policy). Ronald Wilson Reagan is elected as one of our greatest Presidents and the hostages are released quicker than a dog jumping on a dropped chicken leg at a summer barbecue. The dopey left is going to have to find something better to "smear" Republicans with.

OK, let's go even further back to the 1930s, when the NYT correspondent in Stalin's Moscow was Walter Duranty.
