Once upon a time we mocked the Soviet Union for its gerontocracy. Aged party leaders, bundled up in overcoats and fur hats to the point of near-unrecognizability, would be wheeled out to sit, immobile, as parades passed or party congresses opened. Their withered, stale leadership was emblematic of the decaying USSR’s withered, stale ideology — and industrial base.
But now the joke’s on us. A leading United States senator, Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), can’t seem to remember important things, like her just-taken vote on a judicial nominee and her just-announced retirement. “Did I vote for that?” she asked an aide Wednesday, moments after leaving the chamber.

President Joe Biden’s top national security aides told reporters on Monday that despite the risks it entailed, the president felt it was “really important” to make the surprise trip to Ukraine.
“He was excited about making the trip. I think he felt it was really important to stand up next to President Zelenskyy and speak the way that he did today,” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on a conference call with press. “[He] felt he had an important mission to undertake, and he was eager to do it,” he added. Another aide on the call said his visit was a demonstration of Biden’s commitment to Ukraine.

James O’Keefe, the guerilla filmmaker known for exposing left-wing politicians and institutions, is out at Project Veritas, the conservative media company he founded more than a decade ago.
In a 45-minute video, which appears to have been filmed Monday at Project Veritas’s office, O’Keefe announced that he was “packing up my personal belongings” after he had been indefinitely suspended from his role as CEO and removed from the group’s board of directors.
O’Keefe, who appeared to be talking to gathered Project Veritas staffers, said the video, which was published anonymously on the streaming platform Vimeo, was “just for us,”

Taylor Brock is her name, and RedState was the first to break this mother’s story about the choking assault against her seventh-grade son, Christian, by a female perpetrator on a school bus. The boy was bullied, then choked, leaving visible marks on his neck, and scars on his psyche. Yet, despite Brock bringing the incident to their attention with the video and photographic receipts, the Fairfax County School District took little to no action on her son’s behalf.
Brock has since retained the counsel of Cheri Belkowitz and is speaking out to other outlets, including Fox News.

Axios is reporting that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has granted Fox News’s Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol videotape from Jan. 6, 2021, (aka J6).FACT-O-RAMA! We were told there were 14,000 hours of surveillance video, but now it appears there are roughly 41,000 hours of tape.
Tucker has long questioned whether J6 was an actual insurrection. The FBI stated in August 2021 they found little evidence that the crowd tried to topple the United States. A Harvard University survey released in August 2022 said the same thing.
Democrats have fought to keep the tapes under wraps. That is understandable, as it’s hard to cry “insurrection” when looking at videos

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is expected to meet with law enforcement figures in crime-ridden blue areas — including Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia — touting his approach to crime and support of law enforcement in the Sunshine State, as speculation of a 2024 presidential bid continues to dominate the narrative.
DeSantis has long capitalized on his administration’s support for law enforcement, particularly in the wake of protests, riots, and rising crime over the past few years in blue jurisdictions. While calls to “defund police” dominated the narrative, DeSantis made it clear that Florida would do no such thing

Alec Baldwin is no longer facing years behind bars in connection to the fatal shooting of "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Prosecutors dropped the firearms enhancement charge originally brought against Baldwin. First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies filed the paperwork Monday morning, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
"In order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys, the District Attorney and the special prosecutor have removed the firearm enhancement to the involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Halyna Hutchins on the 'Rust' film set," Heather Brewer, spokesperson for the district attorney, told Fox News Digital. "The prosecution's priority is securing justice, not securing

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday said that President Biden is neglecting domestic problems by making an international trip this week that included a surprise trip to Kyiv to show support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
“We have a lot of problems accumulating here in our own country that he is neglecting,” DeSantis said in an appearance on Fox News after news of Biden’s surprise trip to visit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Biden made the visit to the war-torn capital of Kyiv just days before the country’s war with Russia reaches its first anniversary.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) called out President Biden for his "blank-check policy" on Ukraine after the president traveled to Kyiv for an unannounced visit shortly before the one-year mark of Putin's assault.
DeSantis joined "Fox & Friends" Monday to discuss Biden's first visit to the war zone since the conflict started a year ago, and why the newly allocated half-billion dollars in Ukrainian aid is unacceptable without clearly defined goals.
"They have effectively a blank-check policy with no clear, strategic objective identified, and these things can escalate, and I don't think it's in our interests to be getting into a proxy war with China, getting involved

President Biden's surprise trip to Kyiv, Ukraine, is not expected to have any impact on the Russia-Ukraine war, according to an expert who believes Putin will keep up military pressure in the hopes of forcing Ukraine to negotiate for peace.
Biden arrived in Ukraine on Monday to unveil more U.S. assistance to Ukraine alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This marks Biden's first visit since Putin invaded the country almost one year ago.
Rebekah Koffler, president of Doctrine & Strategy Consulting, former DIA intelligence officer and author of "Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan to Defeat America," spoke to Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview to discuss what impact

The long-range missiles matter. So do the super-accurate artillery shells, the surface-to-air missiles, and the winter weather gear; the training in the English countryside or the muddy Grafenwöhr maneuver grounds; and the intelligence provided from the eyes in space and the ears on airplanes that circle outside the battlezone. President Biden’s visit to Kyiv matters just as much as any of these.
Other heads of government preceded him, earning deserved credit. But it is an altogether different thing when the president of the United States—who is, indeed, the leader of the Free World—shows up. His words mattered.

Americans woke up on Monday morning to the news of a surprise visit to Ukraine, by the President of the United States.
Press outlets swooned as Joe Biden was seen walking around the streets of Kyiv with Volodymyr Zelensky, the latter donning his signature olive drab. There were even air raid sirens blaring in the background to really make the scene pop. I’m sort of in the middle on Ukraine aid, believing that some investment in diminishing Russia’s military by proxy is a net positive (but I want less overall and a lot more accountability). What I’m affirmatively against, though, is being gaslit
