Once again demonstrating his race-baiting prowess, President Joe Biden in a speech on Monday honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, absurdly claimed, in effect, that car insurance is racist —by insisting black people pay higher rates than white people. “No basis for it!”, Pandering Joe™ sternly declared.
During his MLK speech, hosted by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, as reported by Breitbart, Biden went full-metal Biden.
If you live in one of those neighborhoods and you have the same exact car I have in the other neighborhood, you pay more for your insurance than that side. No basis for it! None at all other than you’re black,

At some point in time, people need to ask Jill if the Demented Fuhrer is like this even in Delaware where the surroundings are familiar? She had her chance to make the necessary medical appointments but loved the "softball" questions during magazine interviews.

The media ignore the vibrant black middle class because all black people are poor, you know.

Insurance rates are bases on demographic accident rates. Males under 20 have higher accident rates (or at least used to) than females under 20, so the males pay higher insurance rates. If blacks have higher rates, it is because they get involved in more accidents. It's just that simple.
Like it used be that many banks wouldn't loan in certain parts of town where the default rate on mortgages was very high....which corresponded with the "black part of town". But now, that isn't permitted, so the number of bad mortgage loans out there is far higher, damaging banks.
Can't treat everyone the same, because they don't act the same.
As Dr. King said, he dreamed of a time when "people are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin."
But the racist black "leaders" (race baiters, actually) want to judge by skin color, and discriminate against whites for the color of their skin. "Equity" is the new racism.

Joe was just being Joe trying to buy votes from low information Black “communities” after his teleprompter told him that those “communities”do not like paying for their required automobile insurance. Good luck trying to explain to that “community” that insurance premiums are based upon the risk involved. Don’t be surprised if Biden does not promise those “communities” that if they vote for him that he will have the Congress appropriate the money necessary to pay all their automobile insurance premiums.

I used to live in a small town of about 1,600 people and my insurance was very, very low. Then I moved back to my home town of 76,000 where there are a lot of auto accidents and my insurance went way up.
Actuaries don't look at race, they look at claims.

Instead of worrying about phantom racism, parents should be paying more attention to the quality of schooling and that their kids are learning to read at the appropriate grade level.

Well, there is one way we can stop alleged systemic racism in it's tracks once and for all. The government should supply us with mandatory burkhas to be worn 24/7 under penalty of law like the old mattress tags. Social identification would become meaningless amongst the Burkha-Bundled because nobody would know or care who or what lurkahs under the Burkhas. Identity matters based on social, cultural, racial, age or gender issues would immediately become pointless if we all wore a full cover-up sack. Who would know who's who? Those who refused to be Burkha Bound would be subject to immediate cancellation by the government.
The cost of a Burkha is far easier on the budget than $5M reparations per person of color, being proposed by some.
Of course I'm being facetious, but since people are apparently gonna keep blaming the color of their skin or social identities for their victimhood, here's a creative and cheap option to consider. The silence is deafening, though. Could it be that people would rather slouch around in their various victimhoods than find positive solutions to our current problems?

Car insurance prices are indeed based on one's credit rating, so there is a higher price for those with bad credit, both black and white.
Our rates in Louisiana are driven up by lawyers pushing our legislators to let everyone in a car sue the other driver. So some people drive around with a car full of people and try to get in a wreck. The latest trick is backing into the car behind you. So I stay way back at red lights now.

Insurance companies rates are driven by risk and your driving record. you live and drive in a high risk area and you have a number of violations or a couple at fault accidents your rates will be higher than someone in a low risk area. By the way, as far as I know your insurance application does not ask what your race or religion is. Biden is a sack of lying xxxx.

No basis for it? How often do cars get broken into and stolen in one “community” versus all the rest?

So what he is saying is that it will be OK to crash into and maim someone and not pay for it if you are Black? How Black do you have to be too qualify for this? Will Megan Markle drop insurance on their cars after putting them in her name?

It is surprising that Biden has not scrutinized the manufacturer’s stickers that are displayed on a window of new motor vehicles for racism, as those Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP), stickers are complicated for members of the “community” to read and understand, especially folks with limited or no reading skills, and therefore those MSRP readouts must obviously discriminate against the Black and Brown “communities” that Biden claims to cherish especially before and during elections.

Poster #13- I'm also in Louisiana, and if you want to avoid the 'backing into you at stoplights' accidents, hang a dash camera off your mirror. You can get a decent one at any good electronics store. All three of my vehicles have one. Even if you don't have it on (?), someone that's trying to scam you will assume you have them on film. Just my 2 cents worth.

Word of advice to the most despicable person in the USA, FJB: Shut the heck up you old fool. Instead of fomenting racial unrest and making note of inequity in commerce, why don't you jump off some Delaware bridge and make yourself useful. As for knowing anything about MLK, Jr., I suggest that you read a book about him. The generation who were alive when he was active, probably have forgotten more about Dr. King than any Biden anywhere can ever learn. King probably already knew that J. Edgar Hoover was a cross-dresser. If JFK and RFK knew, then so did King.

#15 is correct. I was an insurance agent for over 40 years. The application does not ask for your race. The company wants your name, address, DOB and DL #. At fault accident and violations on your licensee will increase your premiums. Rates vary from city to city based an claims experience. You are going to pay more in urban areas than rural areas. Some states are much higher than others. You will pay two or three times as much in California than you will in Wyoming. Ambulance chasing attorneys, staged auto accidents, outlandish jury awards also play a part in certain localities.
