DeSantis Eyes Ban on China-Based Entities

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is mulling a move to ban Chinese entities from purchasing property in the state due to the economic and security risks posed by China’s communist regime. “If you look at the Chinese Communist Party, they’ve been very active throughout the Western Hemisphere in gobbling up land and investing in different things,” DeSantis said during a press conference on Jan. 10. “And, you know, when they have interests that are opposed to ours, and you’ve seen how they’ve wielded their authority… it is not in the best interests of Florida to have the Chinese Communist Party owning farmland, owning land close to military bases.”

I am starting to agree with Congressman Gaetz. Let’s make America more like DeSantis Country. This was a move all states should have done long ago before so much lands and businesses were purchased by foreign entities. Israel has the right idea on that!

China with its one-party rule has been in a war with the west for decades and EVERYTHING it does is with that in mind. All of its businesses are subservient to that vision and companies which partner with the ChiComs are literal co-conspirators. This is why I now deplore Lebron James who puts his pocketbook above the evil being done to the Uyghurs and why I won't consider any product with his endorsement. That ATT commercial where he is with the young woman who elsewhere brags about her abortions is sickening beyond belief. I admit it is hard to buy anything NOT made in China but we don't need to Lebron ourselves and DeSantis has the right idea. China isn't buying land and production facilities just to turn a buck - they have much more in mind.

Anyone following the regime’s playbook already understands that when you disagree with it, you’ll be accused of killing someone. Suggest that a man can’t get pregnant, and you’re guilty of stochastic terrorism. It's now been three years since COVID hit. At the start of the pandemic, "experts" shouted: "Stay home!" "Close schools!" "Wash your hands!" "Disinfect countertops!" Clearly, disinfecting countertops and washing hands made no difference. What about closing schools and lockdowns? The media trashed Gov. Ron DeSantis when he lifted Florida's lockdown. (snip) On CNN, Andrew's brother Chris gushed, "I am wowed by what you did!" By contrast, he said, Florida was "in such dire straits."But actually, adjusted for population, Florida and New York had about the same number of deaths. SAN FRANCISCO -- A coalition of news organizations, including The Associated Press, filed a court motion in San Francisco seeking access to evidence against the man charged in last year's attack on former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi. During a Dec. 14 preliminary hearing, the San Francisco district attorney's office introduced audio and video evidence against David DePape, the man accused of attacking Paul Pelosi. But it has refused to release the evidence to the media. Attorneys for the coalition said in the motion filed Wednesday that “the public and press have standing to assert their rights of access to court records and proceedings.”

A new and unconstitutional, Orwellian gag-order law took effect on Jan. 1. Titled “Physicians and surgeons: unprofessional conduct,” the law permits the Medical Board of California to discipline doctors who “disseminate” misinformation. It’s an obvious and direct attack on the First Amendment—freedom of speech—as well as the Fifth Amendment, which says an individual cannot be compelled by the government to provide incriminating information about himself, and the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection under the laws. This law attempts to mandate a new and undefined standard known as “contemporary scientific consensus” and illegally suppress differing professional opinions counter to this consensus on COVID-19.

Revelations that classified documents going back to President Joe Biden’s years as vice president have been found in his private office in Washington and a garage at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, are threatening to become a political – and possible legal – liability for the president. But Biden’s own handling of classified materials is now under scrutiny given the revelations that documents were stored at his private office and garage.

It was tucked into the House's internal rules, rather than in annual spending bills, and therefore was not debated on the House floor, according to the New York Times.
