Kevin McCarthy dissenters are unfazed by former President Donald Trump's warning that standing in the way of the California Republican's speaker bid will cause the GOP an 'embarrassing defeat.'
'Sad!' Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com of Trump weighing in on the House Speaker's race.
'This changes neither my view of McCarthy nor Trump nor my vote,' he added.
Gaetz tweeted Monday that 'Supporting McCarthy is the worst Human Resources decision President Trump has ever made.'
In the first two rounds of voting on Monday 19 Republicans voted for a candidate other than GOP Leader McCarthy for speaker. In the third round, 20 did so,

I heard the interview of Chip Roy on local talk radio this morning:
www.wmal.com/Larry O'Connor show podcast.
Great for Rep. Roy - Newt is a fossil.

Gingrich called the holdouts blackmailers. From what I've heard and read the ones that are threatening to sabotage the process are republicans. If they don't get their way they'll go with democrats.

I just don't trust McCarthy. I see a lot of Mitt Romney in him. PDT wants a quick resolution so Repubs can get to work, but personally, I want the Speaker, whoever it is, to investigate the Democrats/FBI/DOJ.IRS and all the evil minions the Dems have embedded in the gvt. Will McCarthy do that?

Why should any voter have respect for these buffoons? We sent them to Congress to stop the destructive policies of Pelosi brigade and the WH and they are acting worse than teenage mean girls

Everybody talks about "democracy" these days but I doubt few know the true meaning.
What the Republicans are doing right now is democracy. Of course this will also involve private meetings and some arm-twisting, but it's still a lot closer to democracy than the Democrats with their Politburo-approach to governing where you hear the same phrasing out of many Pols (and talking heads) whenever there is a decision to be made. They are lock-step politicians, unlike the sloppy proceedings we're enjoying courtesy of our Republican friends.

Kevin is bought and paid for. In my opinion, the other side of the house are socialists. Most are bought and the new one have a for sale sign on their necks. Asking the government to investigate the government is a wasted 2 years

Excuse my double dipping. I support Byron Donalds for Speaker. Can't have too many Donalds in leadership.

Trump's biggest weakness is picking people who hate him and hate us. Their oath of office is just something you have to sign to get the job, like the company harassment policy. They dont even glance at it.
McCarthy is not a good choice. If there was any doubt, his moving into the office early and proclaiming he "earned" the office (like Hillary) should dispel that. Dont do the bad thing just because its fast and the Uniparty said so. Hold off and do the right thing.

I truly believe alot of what we are seeing in Congress is a plot to keep the Democrats in charge so they can continue their 1/6 nonsense to keep Trump out of Washington. I will not be surprised at the end of this, Hakeem Jeffries is the new Speaker. Washington does not want Trump anywhere near them.

Well, this is just great for the Democrats. They now know how to delay everything these "conservatives" proclaim they want done just long enough to declare the Republican House a "do-nothing" party.
You want investigations? You could have had them started today, if they would have elected McCarthy as Speaker. Jim Jordan would be working on getting the information from the WH who has already stated they need an active committee to request any documents.
These few "D-listers" are playing into the Democrats' hand, and protecting them now.

Warren Davidson (R) is making a brilliant speech after another fruitless vote. A member of the Freedom Caucus, he just nominated McCarthy …Fifth vote expected. Aguilar (D) nominating Jeffries with same old whine abour their being united while we are not. Rubbish, but the Dems are loving it.

The ones voting for McCarthy are wishing they had Pelosi back to keep them with their excuse for the evil they commit.
There is no good reason to elect a Speaker & plenty of bad ones. The Budget Betrayal is done. McCarthy swore he would derail any House investigations that threaten Democrats. There is nothing good that can come from this Congress. Shut it down.
A day that Congress does nothing is a day they don't do more evil.

Somebody amongst the pubbies, just get a hold of Klaus, Obie, Turtle, Schoomer, and biden the cheater (and Riceroni and Valjar, et al) and tell them we aren't interested in their Great Reset bulls&t. Besides, McCarthy is just another junior-level useful idiot from the deep state.
You dim representative-elects and ignorant rino pubbies-elect in the House, get used to sitting on your dead arses doing absolutely nothing until somebody comes to terms with the pending loss of America, as founded.
