A Great Big New Year

Happy New Year’s Eve! As I sat down to start writing, I reflected on my long, strange journey from unassuming small-town lawyer to freedom-activist blogger. (Snip) In 1984, President Ronald Reagan posthumously awarded Whitaker Chambers (1902-1964) the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Chambers had died twenty years earlier, after testifying in Congress against State Department official and treasonous Soviet spy Alger Hiss, who’d drafted the United Nations Charter allegedly on the United States’ behalf at Yalta. Until 1938, Chambers ran a U.S.-based spy ring for the Soviet communists. (Snip) But he defected in 1938, having grown increasingly uncomfortable with Stalin’s internal purges, and having found God.

This Substack, Coffee & Covid, is my favorite. It covers a lot of topics, starting with covid policy matters like lockdowns(in which he often worked with the DeSantis administration) and branching out to a lot of other things I'm interested in. He won my heart in this piece by beginning with Whitaker Chambers and Ronald Reagan.

For the last few years, I delivered a Happy New Year message here on L.Com, and acknowledged a good many of you by your screen names for your tireless efforts to research the truth and post worthy news articles here. The same for many of you who delivered very thoughtful comments each and every day. I'm relatively new here and have been a regular commenter here for only 20 years. Maybe 21 years. Every now and then I will also post an article or two that help to inform of what is happening in the world and why. Because L.Com has grown so much, the list of regular contributors, both posters and commenters, is too long now and I am fearful of not acknowledging everyone. But you know who you are. So, this time, I will keep it simple and thank you all for continuing to bring the truth here. Let's keep going! Happy New Year, everyone. And to the late Lucianne Goldberg for bringing us such a top-rate news salon. Continue to rest in peace, ma'am.

Whittaker Chambers was saved from his communism by one thing and one thing only; a generous, loving, forgiving and almighty God, Who gave of Himself as the Sacrifice for all the sins of all mankind over all time. The atheist, despite all the claims and protestations to the contrary by those famous public atheist proselytizers like Dawkins, Shermer, Harris, et al. is at bottom a person who wants to be unaccountable for his or her sins. Silly little ants, laboring mightily to build an anthill in which the other ants look up to them with admiration, just before the boot comes down and extinguishes all their sorry little ant lives. I can only feel a mixture of sorrow and pity for them, and pray that they, like Chambers experience that wonderful moment when they realize that all their efforts are meaningless shouting into the wind and they find their rest in the saving arms of Jesus.

The real state of the union 6 replies

Ahead of last night’s State of the Union speech, the press reported gloom and doom for their president. Biden is stumbling but always remember, he is 10-0 in elections (7 Senate, 2 veep and 1 presidential). He is an idiot, true, but he is an election savant. Governing is another matter. He sucks like a Shark vacuum. The Washington Post reported, “Americans not feeling impact of Biden agenda, Post-ABC poll finds.” Of course, they are feeling the impact of his agenda. Inflation remains at 1970s levels, we humiliated ourselves by surrendering Afghanistan, and we are depleting our military to protect Ukraine’s border while ignoring our own.

One has to admire the brilliant highjacking of the American election process. It was multi-level, using hundreds, if not thousands of tactics, and planned down to the last compromised County Councillor and State Elections Official. Laws were ignored, ridden over, broken, transduced and corrupted into worthless paper. For every Republican election worker in the field, there are 100 Democrat activists. Last week Christina Bobb, one time OAN anchor, former Marine and Judge Advocate, now President Trump’s attorney, released her book describing what happened after the 2020 steal. Bobb covered the election on the day, and in the weeks afterwards travelled ceaselessly, reporting on the aftermath.

Lucifer woke up this morning with his head pounding and his ego deflated. He drank a gallon of Bloody Marys to stop the pain. Yesterday, that pipsqueak DeSantis beat the devil at his own game. Sure, Satan still has Biden in the White House, but to be beaten by a Florida Man truly hurts. But DeSantis stared Satan down and got the College Board to kick Satan out of its advanced placement black studies course. “At the bottom of this is the College Board’s revision of the curriculum. I don’t believe for a moment that the changes had nothing to do with the criticism from DeSantis.

On January 25, Project Veritas released what has already become by far its most-watched video ever: An undercover conversation with Dr. Jordon Trishton Walker. (Snip) But there’s another story here, worthy of at least a little discussion. It’s not as shocking, but certainly very revealing about the nature of modern America: Who the heck is Jordon Walker and how did this blabbermouth idiot get a sweet job at Pfizer? Critics of the Veritas scoop have zeroed in on the idea that Walker could not possibly hold a senior role with Pfizer, citing his relatively recent graduation and unremarkable research history. This criticism is rooted in truth.

On Wednesday, America will kick off another black history month. This year’s theme is black resistance. Among the 9 people featured in the official poster are Angela Davis and Malcolm X — not Martin Luther King or Clarence Thomas, men who made America better, but a pair of thugs. Davis is the communist who in August 1970 surreptitiously armed three murder defendants which led to a shootout with the police that left the judge and the three gunmen dead. Malcolm X was an ex-convict who once was the face of the Nation of Islam, a black supremacist church. When he left it, the church sent assassins who killed him.

Over the past few months, we've been considering the wholly negative history of the so-called "Progressive"-era constitutional amendments, none of which did anything to improve the nation but did much to undermine its founding principles. (Snip) It's not just the constitutional amendments that have contributed to the decline of the Republic, however: it's also the actions of an ever-burgeoning federal government, which has simultaneously abandoned its core fiscal, executive, judicial, and legislative responsibilities, and extended its intrusive reach into almost every facet of our existence via the creation of the regulatory agencies, which now essentially control every aspect of a citizen's public and private life.

The House of Representatives in the new 118th Congress is off to a good start. In adopting a set of innovative rules governing its parliamentary deliberations, the new House Republican majority has authorized the creation of a Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic with broad jurisdiction. After three years, and more than 1 million deaths in the U.S. associated with COVID-19, a comprehensive, sober, and detailed investigation into the federal government’s response is a necessary precondition for restoring Americans’ trust in federal public health agencies. Specifically, that includes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, and

Commies have always been after the wealth of America. It is their plum, their Holy Grail, their much-lusted-after crowning achievement. From the ruined universities of Europe, they flooded to the New World after WW2, determined to get some of her lovely money. Communists are always money hungry, starved in fact, ravenous for cash, but they never figure out how it is created. So they steal it by insinuating themselves into the bureaucracy and public sector unions, there to shake down the culture, no matter what. They don’t give a damn about the people they putatively serve. Citizens are meatsuits to be exploited for benefits and raises.

Watching a Project Veritas undercover sting operation invariably leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m struck with admiration for yet another one of James O’Keefe’s bold strokes against the corrupt empire that now dominates our world. On the other hand, I’m shocked by the disclosure that the Empire is staffed by such moral and intellectual lightweights. Though incredible, it appears that the subject of O’Keefe’s latest sting, Jordon Walker, really is a Pfizer Director of Research & Development Strategic Operations. Here he is giddily talking about deliberately mutating SARS-CoV-2 by means of “directed evolution” in order to keep Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine gravy train going.

House Republicans are pushing to bar any person or business associated with the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing agricultural land in the United States, an effort gaining traction on the Hill as lawmakers look to retaliate against China over its spy-balloon incursion. Reps. The line apparently failed, as very few in the room laughed and some looked confused or concerned. Watch: Very funny, Joe. Actually, it’s not that funny, and although he’s made similar jests in the past, it points to a larger problem: many don’t believe the President is really in charge—including seemingly himself.

A new government report reveals that the total amount of American soil owned by Chinese investors is nearly twice as large as the entirety of New York City. As the New York Post reports, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed in last month’s report on foreign-held land that Chinese buyers currently own at least 384,235 of American land. By contrast, the full expanse of New York City covers just 193,700 acres. Even Bill Gates’ total land ownership is dwarfed by China’s, with just 270,000 acres. Of all the foreign-owned farmland in the U.S., China owns roughly 0.9 percent, or about $1.2 billion worth of land, according to the USDA report.
