On Thursday, text messages leaked showing that Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) had permanently banned a female staffer from her congressional office for failure to take a COVID-19 test. During the exchange, Porter went on to accuse the staffer of giving her COVID-19, refusing to let her retrieve her personal belongings in person while showing no care for the personal tragedy the staffer had been facing. It was a mask-off moment for Porter, who has grown quite the fan club among whiteboard-loving liberals who think cheap grand-standing during hearings is evidence of brilliance. But what made things even worse was who the staffer was.

We have just lived through a respiratory virus epidemic and many are wondering, Why did our government and the social media platforms block any intelligent discussion of the virus that was making its way around the globe?
In an ideal world, doctors would communicate freely about treatments for a new disease that they have tried, and how, and under what circumstances, those treatments have succeeded or failed. This is called the scientific method.
But the scientific method has not prevailed over the last few years. Instead, the public square has been dominated by government-dictated dogma that often turned out to be wrong. The result was that many people died needlessly

In Against the Great Reset, Harry Stein asks how the Left has managed to subvert the culture and trample so effectively upon the fundamental concepts of decency, equality, justice, morality, and even human biology itself, not to mention humor and modesty. The answer may be found not only in policy and power wielded from the top but also in the gradual saturation of the public mind with a vast set of implicit assumptions regarding what constitutes enlightened societal advancement. In other words, a large part of the answer is the Leftâs near-absolute domination of mass popular culture â music, film, sports, news media, entertainment, and so on â all infused

Pelé, the Brazilian soccer icon who brought the World Cup trophy to his home country three times, becoming an international superstar and the highest-paid team athlete in the world at the time, has died. He was 82.
His daughter Kely Nascimento announced his death Thursday on Instagram. Pelé's health had been deteriorating as he aged. Doctors at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo said in late December that he was receiving "elevated care" related to "kidney and cardiac dysfunctions" stemming from the cancer he had been fighting for more than a year. He also had a respiratory infection, and his family said

James Cameron has made some of the best action movies ever. Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens. Even True Lies was pretty good. I thought Titanic sucked, and Avatar was a snooze, but Cameron has a few greats to be proud of.
But he isnât proud of them. In fact, without naming these movies he implies he wished he never made them. They âfetishizeâ gun violence, and he is done with that. Guns make him sick to his stomach now.
He is so done with gun violence, in fact, that he has made a war movie (Avatar 2 is indeed a kind of war movie, in which the human beings

Italyâs decision to take extra precautions with Chinese travelers paid off on Wednesday as two flights from China landed in Milan and half of the passengers tested positive for Covid-19.
Italy was one of four countries that announced they would impose coronavirus restrictions on Chinese travelers because a massive wave of coronavirus infections is ripping across China, racking up millions of cases in a single day â but the tyrannical Chinese government decided to abandon almost all of its disease control protocols with almost no preparation for the consequences, loosen up travel restrictions, and begin handing out passports just in time for the Lunar New Year holiday.

The House January 6 committee is withdrawing its subpoena of former President Donald Trump as it concludes its work.
"In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena," Chairman Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, wrote in a letter to Trump's attorney Wednesday obtained by CNN.
"Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena," Thompson added.

Being all uber-woke you can be has just about brought the Army to its knees. In this day and age, theyâve fallen so far down the rabbit hole anymore that they canât get anyone whoâs their normal target recruit to sign up to save their lives. Or anyone elseâs, for that matter. Their recruiting numbers are dismal.
âŠThe service fell 15,000 recruits short of its fiscal 2022 goal and it cut its goal for total number of soldiers in fiscal year 2023 by an additional 15,000, suggesting that it sees a longer-term problem.
Only 23% of young Americans meet the fitness, health and other standards required to join the military,

Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers militia who has been convicted of seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, said his case is a harbinger of what the Justice Department has in store for former President Donald Trump.
The former Army paratrooper and Yale Law School graduate turned militia leader warned that his conviction on the rare Civil War-era charge has set an ominous precedent that should alarm conservatives.
âTheir success in my trial is paving the way for them to keep rolling through other people building up to Trump,â Rhodes told The Washington Times. âIt was a warmup for what theyâre going to do.

Former President Donald Trumpâs taxes are set to go public Friday, the Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee stated Tuesday.
The committee obtained the tax returns in November after the Supreme Court ruled in its favor.
The tax documents will account for Trumpâs tax returns from 2015 to 2021, Reuters reported.
Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee claimed in a report the IRS had not audited Trump for three out of the four years he was president. The IRSâs failure to audit Trump apparently broke its own rule.
The committeeâs report did not include Trumpâs tax returns in the report because confidential information had to be redacted

Earlier this year, Robert âRachelâ Levine, Joe Bidenâs Assistant Secretary of Health, claimed without evidence that there is consensus in the medical community that so-called âgender-affirming careâ is good for kids. âThere is no argument among medical professionals â pediatricians, pediatric endocrinologists, adolescent medicine physicians, adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, etc. â about the value and the importance of gender-affirming care,â he claimed.
But a new study has found that Levineâs claim is not supported by data. In fact, there is no medical science to support his claim whatsoever.

The Associated Press took $8 million in donations to fund climate coverage in 2022, with the news cooperative and several other major media publications engaged in dubious claims about climate change, according to a new, exclusive year-end report. The "Climate Fact Check 2022" report, presented by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), the Heartland Institute, the Energy & Environmental Legal Institute, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), and the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC), stated that "climate alarmists" and members of the media engaged in claims about the relationship between manmade emissions and natural disasters, claims that clashed with "reality and science."
