The latest release of the Twitter Files reveal shifting opinions among executives about how to handle the effects of January 6 and the protests.
The fourth edition of the Files was released by journalist Michael Shellenberger on Saturday, and went into details on Twitter's changes in decision making on Jan. 7, the day after thousands gathered and rushed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
Senior executives at Twitter "create[d] justifications to ban Trump," attempt to "seek a change of policy for Trump alone distinct from other political leaders" and "express[ed] no concern for the free speech or democracy implications of a ban," claims Shellenberger.

Released late Friday through journalist Matt Taibbi, the first installment of part three of the “Twitter Files” delves into the events preceding the infamous Jan. 8th, 2021 de-platforming of former President Donald Trump.
As previously reported, on the 8th the president was permanently suspended from Twitter because of “the risk of further incitement of violence.”
According to Taibbi, the ban was precipitated by “the erosion of standards within the company in months before J6, decisions by high-ranking executives to violate their own policies, and more, against the backdrop of ongoing, documented interaction with federal agencies.”

The eighth circuit’s decision comes months after the fifth circuit issued an opinion in August 2022 in Texas that struck down a reading of the Affordable Care Act which would require every doctor to provide sex change surgeries regardless of religious conviction. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, slammed President Joe Biden Thursday for releasing notorious terrorist Viktor Bout in exchange for Brittney Griner.
Griner, who has a criminal record in the U.S. stemming from a domestic violence incident several years ago, was arrested in Russia back in February on drug charges, charges to which she pled guilty.
In exchange for Griner, Biden released Bout, a Russian weapons trafficker who was convicted on terrorism charges back in 2011 for trying to sell tens of millions of dollars worth of missiles to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for the purpose of shooting down U.S. Military helicopters.
