Disney's 'core values': New CEO Bob Iger
must decide between identity politics

At a recent company townhall meeting, newly reinstalled Disney CEO Bob Iger told the employees that he wants to "quiet" down culture wars and "respect" the audience. For conservatives and people of faith who worry that Disney has strayed too far left into deeply woke territory, that certainly sounds promising. When asked about making "political statements," Iger added: "Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not. It can be distracting, and it can have a negative impact on the company. And to the extent that I can work to kind of quiet things down, I’m going to do that…"

Too late. They've already showed us their core values. Mostly they seem to focus on various brands of sexual perversion.

WHAT? Quiet it down…politics should not even be a part of an entertainment company’s focus or even on their radar screen. Sounds like he might not be much better thank Robert Chapek. ,

That decision was made about 20 years ago. Most conservatives and people of faith realize that it all over but the shouting. Most conservatives and people of faith do not inhabit Train Wrecks.

Identity Politics v Entertainment...Done deal...Paedophilia wins! Disney will NEVER make it back to the wonderful company it was under Walt. I'm sure he is crying 24/7 over what they've done to his legacy.

Make all the changes you want. I still won't give Disney the time of day, let alone pay the gate fee at their amusement parks or watch anything they put out in the recent past.

I long for the days when corporations and businesses sold products and kept their political mouths shut. I have been forced to boycott about 20 companies because of their political stances, which I really don’t want to know about. I propose the Streisand gambit: Shut up and sing. For businesses, shut up and sell. Maybe I’ll come back to buy your products when I think you’ve wised up.

A year after Nishad Singh became the company’s director of engineering, he quietly emerged as a reliable political donor for Democrats, according to over a dozen Federal Election Commission records reviewed by CNBC. Singh, who became FTX’s lead engineer in 2019 following a stint at Bankman-Fried’s trading firm Alameda Research, has donated more than $13 million to party causes since the start of the 2020 presidential election, according to state and federal campaign finance records. We’ve seen a lot of big Twitter bombshells lately. The latest dropped on Tuesday, with the announcement of the firing of James Baker, the former FBI official involved in every turn in the Russiagate probe and the Steele dossier. According to journalist Matt Taibbi, it was discovered that Baker had been viewing the “Twitter files” before their being released to Taibbi. Elon Musk termed it as his “possible role in the suppression of information.” That raises all kinds of questions of things that might have “disappeared” before Taibbi or Musk saw them. But it also raises a huge red flag that the new owner is looking at because he thinks

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) won reelection Tuesday, fending off a spirited challenge from Republican Herschel Walker while helping Democrats grow their thin Senate majority in the midterm elections after a bruising four-week runoff campaign. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. They capped a disappointing midterm election season with yet another loss that effectively surrendered a Senate seat to the Democrats, who saw their majority grow from 50 to 51.

A compromise defense policy bill released Tuesday night would end the Pentagon’s policy requiring troops to receive the Covid vaccine — and kicking out those troops who refuse it — delivering a win to Republicans who railed against the policy. A final version of the National Defense Authorization Act included the measure after conservatives threatened to hold up the bill to curtail the vaccine mandate. The policy became a point of contention in talks in recent days between Democratic and Republican leaders over the bill. The measure defies the wishes of both the Pentagon and the White House,

Or at least he’s back to provide a supplement to round one while round two is still being worked on. According to Taibbi, James Baker, who was general counsel for Twitter and a former top-level FBI official, inserted himself into the disclosure in an attempt to “vet” the files that were ultimately released. Elon Musk was not notified of Baker playing middle-man. As RedState reported, Baker was fired on Tuesday, and with Taibbi’s latest thread, we now know why. Some New York lawmakers are renewing the push for a state law that would lay the groundwork to pay reparations to black residents whose ancestors were enslaved. Proponents gained steam after a task force in California last week recommended that the Golden State shell out $569 billion in reparations to slaves’ descendents there, or $223,200 apiece, because of lingering housing discrimination practices. A previously proposed New York measure called for creating a commission to study the impact of slavery and providing reparations but failed to pass the legislature. It is now being revised, backers said.

Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.

Er … no, not really. Nor do I think for a moment that we will need to prepare for it, either. John Bolton practically epitomizes seriousness, but this interlude between midterms and presidential primaries — shrinking as it is — is not called the “silly season” for no good reason. Bolton kinda-sorta threw his hat in the ring yesterday, or more accurately, announced that he would consider tossing his hat in the ring, yada yada yada. Bolton wants to goad other Republicans into fighting Trump now over his remarks about “terminating” the Constitution, while at the same time misrepresenting what’s actually happening among GOP elected officials:

It has already been legalized in California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont and Washington, with more than 200 Americans opting for the process to date. And the latest eco-craze is surging in popularity with the center pioneering human composting — Recompose — tripling in size in just two years. They now have 1,200 people on the ‘waiting’ list.
