Elon Musk fired several dozen Twitter employees overnight on Wednesday, most of whom were engineers, two people familiar with the company's actions told Insider. The firings came as a surprise inside Twitter, the people said. Musk said in an all-hands meeting earlier this week that there would be no more layoffs at the company. The employees fired overnight on Wednesday were informed they were being laid off for performance reasons, and were given one month of severance, one of the people said. The termination process was similar to that experienced by previously laid-off employees, the two people said:

Insider's Tip Line: Elon has successfully whittled down the sheer number of bots on his site by employing people who know how to spot bots in the first place. You know, actual, real, human beings who know how to code. They know what bots are, and how to make one person's voice be amplified by 100, or 200..... This batch of "layoffs" may have been the actual "bad guys" who were caught doing the original bad bot stuff. You know, this wonderful world we are making for ourselves, is also going to affect us ALL........ Just sayin......

Laid off typically means your performance was not an issue, the company just no longer needed you or could afford you. Firing means you weren't pulling your own weight.

Elon Musk is not a conservative. However, we’re seeing the big changes that he has been bringing to Twitter, as he tries to bring a more level playing field to the “town square” and that’s a great win for free speech and against the suppression of the right that has existed on the platform for so long. When Musk asked, “What do you think of the culture war?” Musk revealed in his responses that he understood things far better than even some people on the right do. He noted that the media is only allowing one narrative.

Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci spoke at what many of us fervently pray is his last official press conference. After botching the HIV epidemic in ways that are part of the public record, Fauci was allowed to bring Covid tyranny down on much of the nation in the name of “public health” for over two years. He achieved this by encouraging containment measures never used in modern history and gaslighting America about everything from cloth masks to the efficacy of experimental vaccines. So, it is only fitting that he ended his leadership of the Covid response by lying to Americans again. During the presser, he said: If you look

Twitter CEO Elon Musk agreed that it’s been conservatives, not leftists, who overwhelmingly bore the brunt of Twitter’s Orwellian censorship operation. Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza tweeted Nov. 21, “We don’t hear much about Democrats and leftists being let back on Twitter. Why? Because they were never kicked off in the first place. Their lies and misinformation simply escaped all scrutiny. Censorship has been deployed as a one-way operation against conservatives @elonmusk.” The new owner of Twitter agreed with that assessment, responding the next day, “Correct.” D’Souza then tweeted, “Nice to get validated here by Twitter’s senior fact checker.”

Mobile shopping -- purchases made through smartphones -- accounted for 55% of online sales, an all-time record for Thanksgiving Day since 2012. Vivek Pandya, a lead analyst at Adobe, told CNBC that the increase was driven by demand, as consumers shrugged off record-high levels of inflation. In 2021, Disney greenlit Strange World, an animated movie about a family journeying through a mysterious land to save a resource that’s losing its energy. Bob Iger, who is returning to Disney to “save” it from Bob Chapek’s sad tenure, was still on board in 2021, so he must have greenlit it. That’s a relevant fact because the movie bombed at the box office. Coincidentally or not, the movie has an openly gay subtext as one of the main male characters crushes on another boy. Before the movie opened, the media wanted audiences to know about the gay romance, probably under the mistaken belief that audiences would care:
