NEW YORK — Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul claims her GOP challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin is “hyperventilating” over the crime problems in the state.
During a campaign stop Monday at the 72nd Street subway station in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Mrs. Hochul said Mr. Zeldin has been “trying to scare people for fun” over the crime issue.
“And New Yorkers are on to it,” the governor said. “All the legitimate media organizations have called him out for what he is doing — fear-mongering,” she said.

I'm sure the woman recently raped and nearly strangled to death in a tony Manhattan neighborhood is also hyperventilating about crime.

Yes and all of the people stabbed, shot or pushed in front of a subway train are hyperventilating. Who's not hyperventilating are the repeat criminals with 10, 20. 30 or 40 arrests they're not because they have nothing to fear

I thankfully don't live in NYC but I'm glad someone is finally paying attention to the crime I see on news reports. Mayor Dandy doesn't seem to have too good a handle on it.

If Governor Eyebrows got rid of her security entourage and walked down a street in NY maybe her ventlation system would kick into high gear. Months ago she had a photo op in front of an outdoor grill and said she just loved picnics. The grill wasn't even lit. A phony.

So what would constitute mere “ventilating” in Hochul’s mind? IOW, what does Hochul think is an acceptable level of crime in her State? By contrast, Zeldin thinks ALL crime is bad.
She is unbelievably tone deaf.

Kathy you are talking about to the wrong person. Lee isn't the one you have to convince. You have to convince the VOTERS, who have seen and experienced the fear of criminals.
So, all you dumb, hyperventilating voters, listen up and STOP. Kathy says so! /s
What a loser she is.

Will a sanctuary state’s voters vote as “directed” by an unelected governor who lives in a bubble? I depends on how gullible and Progressive such voters are, and how much free stuff she might give them, at taxpayer expense of course. NY is not an outbound state for nothing.

A great Zelden ad would have been to interperse Hochul's "crime ain't that bigga deal" comments with brief interviews and snippets of victims (and the families of deceased victims) of the crime wave saying how the crime committed against them WAS a big deal. This lady has ice water in her veins for victims of crime (well, unless the crime is the use of an un-approved pronoun or support of Donald Trump, then it's lock em up and throw away the key).

Prove your point, Kathy. May I call you Kathy? Drop your armed bodyguards, keep police/ law enforcement a minimum 2 blocks away and take a one block walk or a subway ride. Put your money where your mouth is!

Hey Kathy get a clue, hyperventilating means one still has the capacity to breathe. Unfortunately, there REALLY ARE people who cannot breathe. Why? they are dead, deceased, no longer living, passed on to the next life. You can't or will not face the facts because your thirst for quest for power is so strong you've become evil and demented....hallmarks of the Democrat party. SHAME ON YOU!! I'm also a born and bred Buffalonian, thankfully, I am not like you. I value life and have principals and can look in the mirror and know I feel compassion. What do you see when you look in the mirror?

This woman has outdone Terry Metcalf on how to lose an election. Let us hope Zeldin is outside the margin of fraud.

Even out here in Oregon, we read all about the crime wave going on right now. She is an unelected and rotten governor, and she doesn't deserve to win.

Hochul Pocus may lose the election simply through making stupid statements. She claims there is no more crime under Democrats in recent months. As other Democrats are doing, she is lying.
