The U.S. House committee investigating the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol made a big show of voting to subpoena former President Donald Trump last week — but it has not actually issued the subpoena, because it cannot actually identify Trump’s attorney. ABC News reported Wednesday: The Jan. 6 committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol has yet to formally subpoena former President Donald Trump, in part because investigators are still trying to find someone authorized to accept service of it, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

WASHINGTON — The House committee investigating the Capitol riot won’t give Donald Trump the chance to turn a possible live TV appearance of his subpoenaed testimony into a “circus” and “food fight” as lawmakers try to ensure he complies with their demands, the panel’s vice chair said Sunday.
The committee is demanding Trump’s testimony under oath next month as well as records relevant to its investigation. To avoid a complicated and protracted legal battle, Trump reportedly had told associates he might consider complying with the subpoena if he could answer questions during live testimony.
When asked if the committee would consider taking his testimony live,
President Joe Biden said on this week’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show” that his age was a “legitimate” concern for voters in 2024.
Anchor Jonathan Capehart said, “I cannot be with you and not ask you a question concerning my Aunt Gloria, who you may recall was your biggest fan in 2020, because she said we need an old white duty to take on an old white dude. When I asked her if you should run for election, still, she loves you, but she said she is not sure that you should, given your age. Her one caveat, if Donald Trump runs again, you absolutely have to run again.
