The US Air Force will unveil its next-generation stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider, during the first week of December, lifting the tight cloak of secrecy that has surrounded the aircraft's development.
Northrop Grumman and the Air Force confirmed the timeline for unveiling the B-21 on Tuesday, saying that it will offer an 'exclusive view' of the aircraft at the company's facility in Palmdale, California. The bomber, which will be nuclear-capable, will cost about $639 million per plane, and the Pentagon plans to buy at least 100 of them to complement and eventually replace the aging B-2 Spirit. 'The B-21 is the most advanced military

Russia and China surely have the blueprints already. Someone in the USA betraying us. The history of betrayals does cause cynicism.

Hunter is already negotiating with our enemies. Btw, why don't we have the Chinese make this bomber at a fraction of a cost?

China already has the plans and a squadron of them in production. Hunter set up the deal and The Big Guy got a bonus.

These turkey-lurkeys in the Pentagon seem to have learned nothing from the Ukraine war. Tanks are obsolete and air forces rapidly becoming so. Now, a brand new bomber, just what we need.

They will be able to hover at low altitudes and drop hand grenades through open tank hatches too.

It looks a lot like a B2. Not much to look at. I miss the pretty planes, like the Constellation, the P-38, the B-24, the B-36, the SR-71, the f-104, the Mig-15, etc. This thing may do amazing things, but ecch.

And it's a good idea to describe and photos of this marvel? Maybe they're fake. Not saying Potemkin Planes. Maybe someone smart said, this is highly technical and secret technology, so we'll send out pics from Star Wars or something. i don't know. drat

The proposed $639 million per unit seems absurdly low, especially without working prototypes and considering it is supposed to be " the most advanced military aircraft ever built." The fact that no prototypes, or limited rate production units have undergone the Air Force's rigorous Operational Test & Evaluation excursions, guarantees the costs will at least double if not quadruple; however, the benefits of its mission capability compared to the potentially greater benefits of further hypersonic missile development and deployment, should be analyzed closely by someone not in the Biden administration. Except in a limited tactical sense, manned nuclear-capable bombers have lost ground in both capability and cost benefit ratio to missile technology, especially of the hypersonic variety.

My guess is that Lame Duck Joe has already given his boss Xi the design specs to the B-21. So the aircraft is not so super secret anymore.

I'd like to see how each plane costs $639 million. How much of that is materials? Where do they shop? Do they have that Capital One app that shows cheaper merchants?

I guess revealing details about a secret project seems like a good idea to the Democrats before the midterm elections.

The name applies offensive use. How is it going to be stealthy with a big rainbow flag on the fuselage?

I read somewhere that China and Russia have our stealth tech due to one of our old B-2's "crashing" during the 1990 Gulf War. If so we are in deep kimchi and with the current crop of work weak imbeciles in our National Command Authority that kimchi will be served hot.

Why not ask China for a photograph? Their knockoff might even be airworthy. The mockup shown is just a draft; it lacks the Gay Pride/BLM livery of the US version.
