Inflation rose faster than expected in

Inflation rose more than expected in August, continuing to create severe financial pressure for U.S. households even as the cost of gasoline fell. The Labor Department said Tuesday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rents, rose 8.3% in August from a year ago. Prices climbed 0.1% in the one-month period from July. Those figures were both higher than the 8.1% headline figure and 0.1% monthly decline forecast by Refinitiv economists, likely a worrisome sign for the Federal Reserve as it seeks to cool price gains and tame consumer

Comments:

8.3% is much higher than expected, considering gas prices are down. Grocery prices are still rising rapidly.

Bullcorn! This is the type of fake news that is pulling us apart. Inflation was 0% last month. Diaper Joe told us so. How can inflation go from 0 to 8.3% and Diaper Joe not know about it? Besides, inflation means noting if we can't stop global warming with a green new economy. Inflation is a small price to pay to r]prevent the climate from climbing 0.000001 degrees C over the next 10,000 years!

And the “keeping “ idea ? As if inflation isn’t going to be around for a long long time what with shortages created and artificial constraints like glo-bullisms , quotas and freebie distortions .

As usual, the Feds are working against themselves, with the Federal Reserve raising interest rates to slow the economy while Biden in Wonderland and Dems are passing massive spending bills which increase inflation. Worse, Biden’s ridiculous spending isn’t just wasting our money for Chinese made solar and windmills. Rather, he is raising the costs of energy and producing rationing of same in future. Mad Joe and the ‘Crats just gave $20 billion to the EPA so that this far left agency can force farmers to drastically reduce use of fertilizers, meaning smaller harvests, while forcing cattle ranchers to reduce their herds so somehow change the climate. Still higher fruit, vegetable and beef and poultry prices are coming. What’s troubling is that Biden and his controllers show no sign of altering / stopping their failed policies. Either they know how to steal the 2022 and 2024 elections or they realize that we have become a nation of sheep, willing to accept a lower living standard in exchange for welfare and false promises of security.

The Biden administration really needs some new "experts " who are a lot better at looking at data and financial planning. Anyone who has had to purchase anything lately could have predicted that inflation was rising and a problem for everyone. Only the "experts " were blond to it.

I noticed something sort of peculiar about the gasoline and diesel prices. Gasoline has come DOWN in the last 30 days while diesel has gone UP. It appears that this is political posturing to make the optics of inflation better at the pump while the increasing diesel price just shifts inflation to everything the consumer uses that requires transportation. These people are a ship of fools, but they are sly and crafty fools.

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., has closed the gap in his re-election race, erasing a seven-point deficit to take a one-point lead over his Democratic opponent, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, according to a new poll released Wednesday. While Johnson’s 49%-48% lead among likely voters is within the poll’s margin of error, it’s a huge reversal for Johnson in the Marquette Law School poll, considered the gold standard of polling in Wisconsin. In last month's Marquette survey, Barnes led Johnson by seven points, 51% to 44%. The most recent poll also showed Gov. Tony Evers holding his lead over GOP nominee Tim

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden celebrated his climate change and drug pricing law, The Inflation Reduction Act, on Tuesday on the White House lawn, highlighting Democrats' commitment to progressive priorities even as high consumer prices continue to bite. Biden signed the $430 billion bill, seen as the biggest climate change package in U.S. history, into law last month in a low-key ceremony. The Tuesday event on the White House South Lawn brought together hundreds of CEOs, lawmakers, activists and interest groups who supported it, and gave Biden an opportunity to tout drug price caps, electric vehicle grants and a minimum corporate

King Charles III, who ascended to the throne on Thursday, has chosen to rule with the name he was given at birth. But as a British king it comes with baggage. Charles I, born in 1600, endured a stormy reign that ended with his execution 49 years later. In between, he provoked a civil war and erased the notion of an all-powerful monarchy—or indeed, of any monarchy at all for the 11 years after his beheading outside Banqueting House in London. Charles II, his son, chose to lay low on the European continent for what came to be known
