Judge: Government Hasn’t Proven Trump
Search Warrant Affidavit Should Remain Sealed

Original Article

U.S. government officials haven’t presented sufficient evidence to keep a key document related to the search warrant executed at former President Donald Trump’s home shielded from the public, a federal judge ruled on Aug. 22. Officials have claimed that an affidavit that convinced U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart to approve the warrant needs extensive redactions to protect FBI agents and witnesses, as well as the ongoing investigation into Trump. The redactions would leave “very little—nothing of substance,” Jay Bratt, chief of the Department of Justice’s Counterintelligence (snip), told Reinhart(snip) The government has met its burden of showing that its interests outweigh public access to unsealing the entire affidavit, Reinhart said

Comments:

Reinhardt in a pickle and so all over the map with this. Those involved should man up and stand up for what they did.

Reason's Eric Boehm shows that this is a pattern, not an oddity. In Los Angeles a judge was fooled into granting the FBI a warrant so they could inventory some safety deposit boxes. But, "show me the man, I'll show you the crime," was applied whenever money, gems or gold was found. The FBI then confiscated $86 plus from innocent people!

Footage of Chinese police holding machine guns at the airport of Xishuangbanna (Banna) prefecture to stop tourists from boarding their planes has gone viral in China and overseas. Tourists were trapped in the airport after the local authorities of Banna suddenly locked down the city of Jinghong on Oct. 4. They chanted “We want to go home!” Then police wearing full personal protective gear and holding guns appeared at the airport. It is not clear if their guns were loaded with live ammunition. A tourist can be heard shouting: “Are you going to kill us all?”
Wisconsin Judge Rules That Electors Cannot
Change Ballots After Voting

In a win for election integrity, absentee voters can no longer change their vote after submitting their ballots, a Wisconsin judge has ruled. As previously reported, Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (RITE) filed a lawsuit against the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) for its unlawful guidance that allowed absentee voters to change their vote after their ballot had already been cast. The guidance also allows election officials to “spoil” the old ballot on behalf of the voter, creating an environment ripe for voter fraud and confusion. Such a directive violated Wisconsin statute, which states that a voter possesses the exclusive authority to spoil his absentee ballot before it is submitted, not after.

Firefighters in Florida are dealing with a new challenge in the wake of Hurricane Ian—waterlogged electric vehicle (EV) batteries erupting in flames. Florida’s chief financial officer and state fire marshal, Jimmy Patronis, took to Twitter on Oct. 6 to warn of the increased numbers of incidents in which electric vehicle batteries have corroded amid the storm, prompting fires to begin. “There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before,” Patronis said. “At least on this kind of scale.” Patronis shared a video alongside the tweet showing firefighters from the North Collier Fire Rescue (NCFR)

Former President Donald Trump, who sued CNN for defamation early this week, said in an interview on Wednesday that the media should prove his allegations about the 2020 presidential election being rigged are false. CNN had termed Trump’s allegations a “big lie,” a term that Trump claimed was coined by anchors to malign his reputation. (snip) Trump said CNN should “prove the big lie.” “They’ll say whatever comes to mind. They talk about the big lie. I said, well prove the big lie. The big lie is not a big lie at all. At Montpelier, the home of James Madison, a massive political reeducation effort financed by leftist billionaire David Rubenstein has made it “All About Slavery, All of the Time.” Madison’s role as the key architect of the Constitution and defender of its provisions in the Federalist Papers is given little attention. The race hustlers on the board in charge of the fourth president’s home have proposed a national slavery monument on the foundings father’s plantation. His home serves as the housing for what amounts to a “one-hour Critical Race Theory disguised as a tour,” said one disappointed visitor. “I was kind of thinking we’d be hearing more about the Constitution,”

News reports about the hardships endured by the Venezuelan illegal immigrants sent by Gov. Ron DeSantis to Martha’s Vineyard are hard to hear. One “migrant” told The New York Times that he felt “betrayed” because he didn’t know … the Florida government had paid for his flight! “If I had known, I would not have gotten involved.” It’s one thing for the Venezuelans to accept a free flight from federal taxpayers, but quite another to have Floridians paying for their transportation! “The good news is that, at this rate, soon there will be no difference in our country and the second-rate countries these people are fleeing.”

Bottom line, energy driven inflation has collapsed consumer spending, inventories climbing, vendors are cancelling orders, and this is peak season for transpacific shipping- which has now recorded the most rapid drop in history. A single transpacific container shipment cost $19,000 in 2021, then $14,500 in 2022 as the intentional slowdown began. Now it’s only $3,900 as entire fleets of cargo shipments are cancelled due to lack of demand by U.S. purchasers. Folks, get ready…. because it’s not going to get better. Prior farm costs, an outcome of energy price increases, are now reaching the sup

A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which shields certain immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children from deportation, is illegal. The ruling by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday (pdf) affirms a decision in July 2021 by a Texas federal judge—U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen—who declared the DACA program illegal and blocked new applications but kept the policy intact for current beneficiaries. The appeals court similarly left the DACA program intact for current beneficiaries, which means current DACA recipients can continue to file renewal applications.

Hurricane Ian is gone, but the media's myths about hurricanes live on. Reporters say the federal government must direct disaster response, as if only the feds have the knowledge and money to do it. "Debate is already growing about how big federal aid must be," says CNN. Why?! Don't they know that government has no money of its own? That everything federal bureaucrats spend is taken from the rest of us? They don't think about that. Federal "disaster relief" is doled out after storms because, as a New York Times headline put it, "A Big Storm Requires Big Government." But it doesn't. My video this week debunks four myths about hurricanes.

Under Garland, the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been thoroughly politicized and weaponized, transformed into instruments of terror aimed at ordinary American citizens who have the temerity to oppose the Biden administration’s radical agenda.
