If Donald Trump was going to run again, we assumed that the media would once again be the former president's largest pool of support, unwittingly, of course, with the nonstop negative coverage that would have only pushed more voters into his corner. Matt Taibbi noted that they're the "kingmakers of suck," arrogant, and more concerned with expounding on their moral superiority than covering the elections properly. Post-Russian collusion hoax, no one believes them, as evidenced by the appalling trust numbers the American public has given this industry over the past five or so years. That all ended last night.

President Joe Biden has been holding a series of secret meetings with historians, policy experts and even former President Bill Clinton, a new report revealed Thursday, as he navigates a variety of problems facing the nation.
Biden met with a group of scholars last week on August 4, the same day a fierce lightning storm raged across Washington D.C., where they told him it a perilous moment in modern day political history, the Washington Post reported.
The historians compared Biden's moment in history to the 1860 election when Abraham Lincoln warned that a 'house divided against itself cannot stand'

When the FBI raided Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago, it didn’t just senselessly root through the former President’s files, crack open his safe, and snatch up boxes of documents to confiscate for whatever anti-Trump investigation they have going on.
Though all that seems to have happened during the banana republic-like raid, the FBI did something else, something even more horrific: it rooted through Melania Trump’s clothes, rifling through her outfits and underwear in what can be interpreted as nothing other than a gross attempt at humiliating the former president and his family.

FBI agents who raided Donald Trump's Florida resort on Monday were hunting for classified documents relating to nuclear weapons, sources said on Thursday evening.
Details emerged soon after Attorney General Merrick Garland appeared before cameras to defend the search and reveal that he had approved the operation at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.
Fall-out from the unprecedented search of a former president's residence has dominated the political world ever since Monday and the Justice Department is under increasing pressure to explain its decision.
Garland said he could not reveal further details of what prompted the hunt, but sources told the Washington Post it was to do with nuclear weapons.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Thursday released her closing ad of the GOP primary, again attacking former President Donald Trump, who won Wyoming with nearly 70 percent of the vote in 2020.
Only mentioning her Wyoming opponents once and not by name, Cheney recited for two minutes and 21 seconds a diatribe focusing mostly on Trump instead of the needs of Wyoming voters. Nothing in her ad mentions priorities of Wyoming citizens such as deregulating the administrative state, fighting for federal land management reform, or securing the southern border.

President Biden and his family, including disgraced first son Hunter, are spending their summer vacation at a $20 million beachfront mansion in South Carolina, The Post has learned—and they’re not paying a dime. The president recently asked prominent Democratic donor Maria Allwin—the widow of hedge fund founder James Allwin—if he could stay at her nine-bedroom Kiawah Island estate, a source close to the family told The Post. “They stayed here before and they’re not paying,” the source said. “They’ve never paid. They’re just friends.”(Snip)Maria Allwin has contributed to an array of mostly Democratic political campaigns, but her most recent donations are to Rep. Liz Cheney

It seems the DOJ has decided to leak an explanation of their decision to use a search warrant in this case. Newsweek just published an exclusive report based on anonymous DOJ sources which claims the FBI had a confidential source at Mar-a-Lago, one who informed them that Trump was hiding documents and even specified where they could be found.
The raid on Mar-a-Lago was based largely on information from an FBI confidential human source, one who was able to identify what classified documents former President Trump was still hiding and even the location of those documents, two senior government officials told Newsweek.

The push to transition the national road fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) is on and while increasingly popular with buyers, experts in the transportation space are examining potential problems with mass EV adoption. One such issue involves EVs and evacuations during natural disasters.
A report from Transportation Research published in ScienceDirect headlined “Can we evacuate from hurricanes with electric vehicles?” found that Florida—which often bears the force of hurricanes—may not have enough power to cope during an evacuation.
“If the majority of the evacuating vehicles were EVs, Florida would face a serious challenge in power supply,” the report said.

Former White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Thursday on CNN’s “New Day” that someone very close to former President Donald Trump must have been the FBI informant.
Keilar asked, “This is someone with knowledge inside who told the feds that there was additional material at Mar-a-Lago, directed them where it should be, clearly was concerned enough to tell them this information they should have besides the 15 boxes of material they got in the winter. Does that change your mind? Is that now sufficient when you have someone actually aligned with him drawing the attention of the feds to these documents?”

One of the most interesting persons I interviewed for the New York Sun was Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace. (snip) I recently watched him on YouTube discussing his book, “Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom,” and it is an eye opener to anyone who still believes in the global warming hoax. (snip) Mr. Moore’s book not only documents the hardcore evidence that global warming is a not a threat to the planet, it argues that we are essentially still in an ice age. While he covers climate change, he also debunks all the other lies we’ve been fed by environmental charlatans such as Gore.

FBI Director Christopher Wray refused to address questions Wednesday about an FBI raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence conducted this week but did denounce "deplorable" threats against law enforcement in his first public comments since the search in Florida.
Reporters pressed Wray about the Monday raid, (Snip) Asked to respond to Trump's suggestion, Wray declined to jump into the fray. “As I’m sure you can appreciate, that’s not something I can talk about,” he said. Wray then referred such a question to the Department of Justice.
