Only fitting that the nation's largest defense contractor's corporate offices be located down the street from the Pentagon.

That will save Boeing a lot of money and hassle from Illinois lawmakers and unions.

Lori will be stomping her little lightfeet over this newest Chicago failure. Quality of life in Chicago in the dumps? How many shootings every weekend? Teachers' Unions controlling the city government?

"Boeing, you are now cleared for takeoff." Put on the afterburners to leave that hellhole. Lots of money will be leaving too.

I guess they don't want to be shot at, robbed, or carjacked while coming or going to work.

Chicago continues to bleed just like New York and California are doing. Dems are too stupid to see the pattern. Better raise taxes to cover your losses.

I live in Virginia - outside Northern Virginia where Arlington is located. Interesting as Amazon will be building its second HQ in Arlington as well. Great - more congestion in a very Lefty city/county.

Happy for Virginia...and understand completely why Boeing wants out of chicago...I myself left chicago years ago when King Barrack became senator overnight...he was losing until those midnight counts started...our voting system has been corrupt for years...so good luck in Virginia...

#11 they're only a hop, skip & jump from DC so there are plenty of robbers, hijackers, etc. to go around - ESPECIALLY when thugs learn "rich" Boeing people are moving into the area!

I never understood Boeing leadership's choice of moving its HQ to Chicago. It was the worst corporate move EVER. Boeing's corporate aircraft reside in Gary, IN. Yes, that's right, Gary... an absolute hellhole to the tune of "Mogadishu on the Michigan."
Boeing had considered moving their HQ to Dallas, Texas, but chose Chicago instead. They would have been leaders of the pack back then to be transitioning from high tax, 'business unfriendly' States to the Great State of Texas. Opportunity LOST.

#16, Boeing was showered with perks and 10 years tax free by the then mafia don Mayor Richie Daley. Boeing bought the Morton Building who is in a prime location by the Chicago River. Probably now the perks are gone and they are paying taxes. Time to go.

I´m with #6: Move United Airlines from union-run Chicago to friendly (and business-friendly) Houston. United purchased Continental Airlines, a truly fine, Houston-based mid-size carrier with excellent service. Now even Houston flyers are stuck with United´s Chicago surliness and New Jersey ´tude. Houston would make a great headquarters for United. I really miss Continental and their excellent service. Houston airport (IAH) isn´t nearly as jammed a O´Hare (which was terrific in its day.) Like Chicago, Houston kept the old airport (Hobby Airport), just as did Chicago with Midway. There´s plenty of capacity in Houston´s airports, great, friendly people, and a great location.
Overall, Houston tries harder than Chicago. Houstonians are working to build a great city and, while they´re not yet at Chicago´s level, neither is corruption or any sort of union stranglehold on the city. (BTW, Houston is very far from being some sort of cultural wasteland, as Chicagoans like to taunt.)

I guess the workers got tired of running to their cars after their shifts before they got mugged by Chicago's best.
