Isn’t he always worried about a coup? Paranoia is practically part of the job description for leading Russia.
This report is an inch thin but it’s easy to imagine why the possibility of Putin being deposed is a bit higher than usual lately.Make sure to file it under “be careful what you wish for,” though:
The top of Putin’s former employer – the Russian security service FSB – is said to be so frustrated about the lack of military progress in Ukraine that it has reached out to a number of generals and former army officials, according to various analysts and local media reports.
In particular a group called the ‘Siloviki’ –

Putin obviously has nothing to worry about. He’s riding high in Russia. But every future Republican President (as if) can count without question on a coup. It’s written in stone.

Putin has painted himself into a corner. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Is a coup likely? Impossible to know if this is real, but it doesn't sound totally out of the realm of the possible. Is he sick? We don't know for sure, but so many rumors. Does smoke really mean a fire?
Not predicting. Watching.
But I don't think he's got a good hand if this was poker.

The Russian people are great. They just have bad leaders. They are like Americans in that respect. Russians have so much to be proud of culturally. It is a shame their pride must be tarnished by an unjust war.
Of course, America has much to be proud of. The withdrawal from Afghanistan is not one of them. We have Sleepy Joe to thank for that as well as the lousy economy and porous border. Did I mention general lawlessness?

I think diapers is also worried about a coup but the legitimate kind where the people speak out but in the only correct way, given our current state of affairs - too bad the demcommies don't, also, consider the legal and ethical way to govern and not the kick you in the teeth if you don't do what I say, kind of governing

Russians missed the developmental stage, several hundred years in most countries, where freemen and guildmen developed a class between the lowest of the nobles and the peasants.
In 1917 there were pretty much the upper classes and the serfs. And if you needed skilled tradesmen....you hired some from Italy or Germany depending on the skills needed. This was how St. Isaac's Cathedral was built - because there were no skilled stone masons, cathedral builders, etc in Russia.
This has left "The average Russian" with some really strange ideas compared to out ideas. They LOVE a strong central leader, like a king. It seems to be deep in their DNA still.
Americans came from the troublemakers who couldn't buckle under in Europe who had to move out from under the King's thumb. Peoples and cultures ARE different. It took me years of knowing and working with Russians to finally grasp this. Is this "every Russian alive", of course not, it is a broad generalization, with all the usefulness and inevitable exceptions that those always have.

Biden is worried about a coup, the insurrection word being thrown around. The Democrat definition of a coup is not counting the illegal ballots.

Putin is rumored to be going into surgery soon. Will not be suprised if there are "complications."

Putie should turn over the reins to one of his dominant lieutenants who can keep most of his dachas and other properties in Russia, then he should steal away in the dark of night for Switzerland where his pregnant mistress lives in luxury with three of his children. He may have $200b in assets, but he doesn't need more than a billion or so. That should last him the one to twenty years he has left to live. Maybe he thinks he can take his billions with him to the afterlife.
