Perhaps because I was bullied as a child, I made sure to enroll my kids in a “Bully Proof” Jiu Jitsu class. The first rule of dealing with bullies is to “avoid the fight at all costs.” That’s the second rule too. But, at some point, you have to defend yourself to avoid becoming a victim. One of the hardest parts of standing up to a bully is that they’re often loud and aggressive, narcissistic and angry. Some bullies are even skilled at making it appear they’re the victim. To defend against a bully, you must set good boundaries. That kind of boundary setting

I was bullied by a boy my age when I was a boy. Some years later at a High School reunion he approached me and apologized. I later learned that his father was a victim of chronic depression who did not treat this child well.
We all have a past.

Our problems with liberal policies can be summarized in the person of that bubble-headed female who “mentioned that she was looking forward to having a nice day — the last day of the session — and had dressed up for the occasion and, now, her plans were ruined by this “horrible” bill.” That’s the mentality we’re dealing with. Lord, give us strength!

Students cannot count on teachers or principals to protect them anymore.
So they definitely need to learn how to protect themselves.
The best protection of all during these times of a broken society - home school.

The liberals are changing their terminology on sex in the classroom like Global Warming changed to Climate Change, they are now saying no sex education for young kids, but teachers should readily discuss Gender Identity with these very young kids. It’s a loop hole for them to get around Florida law.

FTA: "The first rule of dealing with bullies is to “avoid the fight at all costs.” "
Wow, am I ever glad my dad taught me the opposite. You will be the victim for as long as you play the part of the victim. Find the loudest of the bunch, draw blood and then it's over. Punch him right in the snout and the others will back away.
One of my proudest days was when we got a call from our daughter's 5th grade teacher. Twins, a boy and a girl had been tormenting the class all year long. On that day my little bundle of joy hauled them both out into the hall and thrashed the two of them. It ended right there. She did what the teacher wished she was allowed to do. Teacher told us she knew it would not stop until a student stopped it and she knew it would be our daughter.

Funny how we didn’t have these problems when I was in school. Any kid who caused any kind of trouble in the classroom or on the playground was promptly sent to the principal’s office where a wooden paddle awaited him. And I say “him” because I don’t ever remember a girl being the perp. We “girls raised in the South” were taught manners and good behavior before we were school age. The boys were too, but boys will be boys.

Really? I have to disagree. Throughout third and fourth grade I had to contend with a bully. I could have handled him anytime, but 'we are supposed not to get into fights'. Finally, one day the creep pulled a switchblade comb on me. He got suspended for three days and wasn't allowed to return to the school after the year was over. One punch to the face would have ended it. Bullies don't go after you because you are weak and small (I was neither), they go after you because YOU WON'T DEFEND YOURSELF. After that, any bullying ended with me cutting my knuckles on their teeth. Once that happened the bully left me alone.
Never got in trouble. The teachers knew I was being bullied.
It would be different today. If you stand up to a bully both get suspended. Also, now bullies come in groups and some of them are armed. Bullying has become much more dangerous.

We had one bathroom where all the haters hung out! Full of smoke and testosterone! Use to go in occasionally! Great fun to swap one liners with them! They knew better than to bully me! I was tall and skinny but also really intense! I liked most of them and was friends with the toughest guy in school! A Mexican!

The Loudon county 'gender fluid' (BS) boy should have had an after hours training session in behavior. I am firmly convinced that with proper training, any of these miscreants actually can learn. But it takes some firm training methods. Sometimes bones are broken, but the can learn not to do this sort of thing again.

Avoid the fight? Maybe, but some aggression should be met with force and not allowed to fester.

My son in grade school when he saw a little guy being beaten by a bigger guy he got right into it and knocked out the lout. In junior high, some idiot put LSD in his pop. When he came to, he knocked the snot out of him. One boy robbed his grandmas house which was close to the school. Every time he ran into this punk at school he slugged him. That is how it is done.
