Exxon Mobil Corp. does not intend to fly an LGBTQ flag in front of corporate offices in June during pride month, according to a report.
Bloomberg News reports having seen a new Exxon company policy that prohibits “external position flags,” including the LGBTQ and Black Lives Matters flags, from being flown in front of corporate offices. “Instead, the rule permits a flag representing an LGBTQ employees’ group that does not prominently feature Exxon’s corporate logo,” according to the outlet.

I'm glad that the Board isn't letting less than 5% of the employees dictate what the other 95% do.

The alphabet people were far more bearable back in the closet. They didn’t bother us and we didn’t bother them. Since the awakening we are a mess down to and including the children’s transgender community. We are doomed by fear and cowardice in the face of maybe 1% of the population.

Finally, is a little bit of sanity seeping into these corporate boardrooms?

I'd go along with banning such flags inside offices as well. They can keep their virtue signaling flags out of our others' faces. Wearing "United Way" pins was more than enough.

They disallowed a lot of flags. What's so special about LGBTQWTF and BLM?

Good for Exxon. Now maybe some other companies will grow a pair and let these people do their thing without advertising it.

I applaud Exxon, but diversity and inclusion are the foundational problems. How about we focus on people instead of groups of people? It's extremely divisive and causes people to think more highly of themselves than they ought. I decline participating in everything on my job that focuses on diversity and inclusion. I can't block the emails and invites, but I have them automatically sent to my trash folder where they belong.

This is a deliberately deceptive statement. the policy 'prohibits' but will 'permit' as long as the flag 'does not prominently display Exxon's corporate logo'. Legalese which still allows flags of perversion to be flown. We will NOT be mocked.

Good. It is a workplace, not a social agenda gathering. Leave your personal stuff at home.

Wish my company would follow suit. June is coming up, and the barrage of "diversity" emails is certain.

This prohibition IS the real inclusiveness. It admits who is the 99% and who is the 1%.

Exxon must have taken a good long look at what Disney has done to itself. But there’s a big difference between the two companies - everyone needs gas and other petroleum products so Exxon is pretty much guaranteed customers. And yet they still issued this policy - good for them!
Nobody needs Disney.

Exxon Mobile it sounds all fine and dandy until the CEO is a flaming 'trans or Q' then you'll fly your freak flag high around every corporate office. I worked for one of Exxon's competitors and all oil companies are political jerks.

Would any work group allow Catholics or Christians to display their flag along with the corporate logo? No, they wouldn’t. Enough said. Display your flags on your own time.

Individual justice, not social justice. Can't make a person like or accept anything. Stop forcing your behavior on others.

Exxon and any other corporation can and should be fought and boycotted if they give in to this nonsense. I purposely avoid stopping at Exxon stations ever since the Exxon Valdez was run aground by a drunken captain in Alaska, spilled a bunch of oil and refused to pay for the cleanup. It's a small gesture but it makes me feel good.
