Just when you think he can’t go lower, he does. Oh, who am I kidding, we all thought Joe Biden could go lower in regards to approval rating, and the latest survey from Quinnipiac has his numbers rivaling a punch to the face. To be clear, this isn’t just a record low for Biden in this specific poll, but as far as I can tell, it’s a record low overall, regarding any poll. For the moment, this is the deepest in the hole the current president has ever been. It’s also a five-point drop in just a week. When you break down the numbers, things don’t get any better.

At practically any point in the past 15 years, I would have told you that SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade would be a major factor in the next election, whenever that election happened to be.
But inflation was a remote prospect in America during those 15 years. Almost a myth.
As it is, I’ve begun to wonder if rising prices might end up achieving something I would have otherwise thought impossible.
They may “Roe-proof” the midterms for Republicans.
This CNN poll is so gory for Biden and his party that it should be rated NC-17: Only 23% rate economic conditions as even somewhat good, down from 37% in December and 54% last April.
The Supreme Court’s potential decision to overrule Roe v. Wade certainly did not prompt Democrat voters to turn up at Ohio’s midterm primaries on Tuesday.

Allahpundit covered this question earlier today and his is the most even-handed take on the competing arguments I’ve seen. It’s shocking. Not that the Supreme Court would overturn Roe, but that someone would presumably leak a draft opinion (we don’t know if it is the current one) to change the ruling. Chief Justice John Roberts reverences the integrity of the Court. That a decision was leaked is abhorrent — and one so critical to who we are as a nation! Someone was trying to undermine constitutional law by leaking it.
The Court has been wrong for nearly 50 years about abortion. Some cheap stunt should not change matters.
