The day after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, Democratic donors poured more than $30 million into Democratic campaigns and groups through ActBlue, shattering its own one-day fundraising records.
In the 23 hours after POLITICO reported a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, ActBlue took in just $9 million — just a small uptick from the days prior. CThe modest totals, which reached $12 million by midnight on Tuesday, based on a POLITICO analysis of the ActBlue donation tracker, are an early sign that Democrats can’t count on abortion to single-handedly turn around a midterm cycle that’s already trending badly for them. Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic

At practically any point in the past 15 years, I would have told you that SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade would be a major factor in the next election, whenever that election happened to be.
But inflation was a remote prospect in America during those 15 years. Almost a myth.
As it is, I’ve begun to wonder if rising prices might end up achieving something I would have otherwise thought impossible.
They may “Roe-proof” the midterms for Republicans.
This CNN poll is so gory for Biden and his party that it should be rated NC-17: Only 23% rate economic conditions as even somewhat good, down from 37% in December and 54% last April.

The Supreme Court’s potential decision to overrule Roe v. Wade certainly did not prompt Democrat voters to turn up at Ohio’s midterm primaries on Tuesday.
The House Democrat’s campaign chief Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) announced after Politico’s bombshell report on Monday night that abortion will “now” become the “central choice” in the November midterms and claimed that “only Democrats will protect our freedoms.” But despite the Democrat Party’s attempt to rile their base over the supposed “right” to end the lives of unborn children, Republican voters doubled Democrat voters in the Ohio gubernatorial primary just a day after the Supreme Court’s potential ruling was leaked.

Comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked Tuesday night as he stood onstage during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
A host of clips shared on social media show him being floored by an onlooker who rushed the stage set and took him down in a flying tackle. Further videos appeared to show the comic apparently unharmed after returning to the stage at the Netflix Is A Joke Festival as security personnel surrounded and took down the alleged attacker in the rear corner of the stage. After returning to the stage on Tuesday, the 48-year-old joked: “It was a trans man.”
Meanwhile his assailant was apprehended and removed

Allahpundit covered this question earlier today and his is the most even-handed take on the competing arguments I’ve seen. If you haven’t read it you should read the whole thing, but the very short version is this. The leak could have come from a progressive looking to pressure the court to change its decision or, alternatively, it could have come from a conservative looking to lock the court in to the arguments in the draft decision.
Both arguments sound plausible to me but I have to say that my first impulse was exactly the same as Allahpundit’s. Last night I assumed it is was the work of someone on the left,

The leaked draft of the Supreme Court’s decision to end Roe v. Wade has caused uproar on the Left — and it’s only going to get worse. Get ready for an epidemic of disgusting, hysterical, socioathic behavior the likes of which you’ve perhaps never seen. Swallwell’s comment is particularly stupid, as two sitting justices are in interacial marriages. Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, have dusted off their aloof, cool, intellectual act to bless us with their thoughts on the recent development. The former president tweeted out a document entitled

Rep. Greg Pence has secured the Republican nomination in Indiana’s 6th congressional district, according to a projection from the Associated Press on Tuesday evening.
Pence’s victory on Tuesday comes just days after earning an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. “Greg is working hard to reverse Joe Biden’s disastrous record of out-of-control Inflation and restore the respect our Country deserves from abroad,” Trump said in his endorsement. “He is Strong on the Border, Protects Life, Defends the Second Amendment, and Supports our brave Military and Vets. Greg Pence has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

The Walt Disney Co. has lost nearly $63 billion in market capitalization since it decided in March to embrace radical LGBTQ activism and declare war on Florida by opposing the state’s Parental Rights in Education law.
Shares of Disney have plummeted 23.5 percent since the start of March, falling from $145.70. Market cap is down $62.6 billion, from $265.3 to $202.7 billion.
For the past 12 months, Disney has seen its stock drop more than 30 percent, making it the worst performing stock on the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Disney’s free fall comes as the company has embraced woke, far-left politics, specifically the exposure of young children to radical LGBTQ ideology.

Prominent Democrats reacted with horror to the Monday night leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion that, if adopted, would overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that legalized abortion on a national level.
The draft Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health opinion, which upholds Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, was written on February 10 by Justice Samuel Alito, with Justices Thomas, Gorsuch, Barrett and Kavanaugh concurring. Chief Justice John Roberts does not plan to join the majority in overturning Roe, CNN reported.

The NY Times published a story today about Democrats coming to terms with the fact that an aging Democrat may no longer be fit for office. It’s a story about Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Who did you think we were talking about?
At 88, Ms. Feinstein sometimes struggles to recall the names of colleagues, frequently has little recollection of meetings or telephone conversations, and at times walks around in a state of befuddlement — including about why she is increasingly dogged by questions about whether she is fit to serve in the Senate representing the 40 million residents of California, according to half a dozen lawmakers and aides

As we reported earlier, Politico published a blockbuster piece Monday containing what’s said to be “an initial draft majority opinion” on the Mississippi pro-life case currently before the Supreme Court where Justice Samuel Alito wrote that “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
While draft opinions are subject to change and no actual ruling has been made, the misleading report from Politico has caused much predictable pouncing and seizing and pearl-clutching amongst The Usual Suspects, who are putting out calls to “burn it all down.” Some are even marching in front of a now-barricaded Supreme Court building as we speak similar to the hysteria

It’s shocking. Not that the Supreme Court would overturn Roe, but that someone would presumably leak a draft opinion (we don’t know if it is the current one) to change the ruling. Chief Justice John Roberts reverences the integrity of the Court. That a decision was leaked is abhorrent — and one so critical to who we are as a nation! Someone was trying to undermine constitutional law by leaking it.
The Court has been wrong for nearly 50 years about abortion. Some cheap stunt should not change matters.
As a friend texted me tonight:
Pray that the Chief is maddened
