“Joy, immortal incandescence
Daughter of Elysium!
Breathing fire from your presence
To your temple ground we come.”
This is the invocation of joy that begins Friedrich Schiller’s great Ode, whose first three stanzas were set by Beethoven in the final movement of his 9th Symphony. Baltimore Symphony conductor Marin Alsop has replaced them with doggerel from a local rapper. She explained to Baltimore magazine:
You know, the [Friedrich] Schiller poetry is phenomenal, but it’s not relevant for us today. (Snip) Alsop also inserted African drumming and a jazz ensemble between movements of Beethoven’s symphony.
This is idiotic in more ways

One would think that a former president of the United States would be a staunch defender of the First Amendment. When it comes to Barack Obama, however, you’d think wrong. Obama spoke Wednesday at an event sponsored by The Atlantic and the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy.” In the course of a long and rambling discussion with The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, Obama called for government control over the Internet in order to stem the “demand for crazy” that was spreading what he called “disinformation.”

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Scottie Scheffler has lived up to the hype at Augusta National.
The world's top-ranked player captured his first major championship with a three-stroke victory at the Masters.
Scheffler came into the day with a three-shot lead, and he made sure it held up by closing with a 1-under 71. He finished at 10-under 278 overall, winning for the fourth time in his last six tournaments.
Scheffler four-putted for a double-bogey at the final hole, but he had such a comfortable lead it didn't matter.
Rory McIlroy was the runner-up after shooting 64, but he came into the day 10 strokes behind and was never a serious challenger to Scheffler.

I was mad when a judge ruled that America’s most famous convicted race-crime hoaxer, Jussie Smollett, was allowed to walk out of jail after he all but defecated on our judicial system. Don’t you love how the once-successful actor plays two victim cards, black and gay, in one rant? If only he would put that into a rap song.
Say WHAT?
He did!
In what is probably the most painful 1 minute, 40 seconds you’ll endure this month, Smollett used some of his free time from the hoosegow to rap about his innocence, throw love to his few remaining supporters, and play THREE victim cards. Check out this mad poetry, yo!

CNN’s Brian Stelter took the stage at the University of Chicago’s “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy” conference Wednesday with a fresh new vibe.
Stelter’s sudden evolution from classic “White Man in a Suit” to tangerine has raised a few questions after the dramatic change in his physical appearance at University of Chicago on Wednesday. Here’s a side-by-side comparison of Stelter’s skin tone development: [Pictures] While most will criticize Stelter for coating his body in a synthetic caramel glow, I am here to defend his decision to indulge in some self-love and self-tanning. Here’s the full clip that reveals Stelter’s decision to go darker.

Joe Biden does not seem steady on his feet or clear in his mind, and at this stage the same might be said for the country he nominally governs. His unforced errors, some of which have an oddly deliberate ring to them, may have rendered the November midterms and the 2024 presidential election entirely moot. Whether the nation can remain socially, politically, and economically intact even for the next few months is an open question. Biden is a fool, but there is cunning in his folly. A frugal mind may be capable of great wiliness, and blunders may curiously work in an unintentional way to promote intentional policy.

Was it his overriding craze for power that showed former President Barack Obama for what he really is in the viral video displaying Dems totally ignoring stand-in President Joe Biden on Obama’s so-called “return” to the White House on Tuesday?
Tucker Carlson described it point blank by describing it, ‘Like A Pack Of Wild Dogs, Democrats Have Decided To Kill Off Weak Biden’. “It is his turn to be eliminated.”(Summit News, April 6, 2022)
“Fox News host Tucker Carlson noted that footage of Joe Biden wandering around the White House on his own as the rest of his handlers and Democratic underlings fawn before a visiting Barack Obama

During his first few days as President, Joe Biden named Robert Malley as his U.S. Special Envoy for Iran. Malley has a long history of antipathy toward Israel, as well as a profoundly deep reserve of patience with Iran and other enemies of the Jewish state. Most notably, he helped negotiate the Iran nuclear deal of 2015 — known officially as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) — and he subsequently opposed the Trump Administration’s “maximum pressure” sanctions against Tehran. From the start of his tenure with the Biden Administration, Malley called for the U.S. to return to the JCPOA as swiftly as possible,

A number of city officials from Tampa, Florida were in attendance at the 23rd Annual Islamic Charity Festival, held in March, to show their support for the festival’s organizer, the Tampa Bay Muslim Alliance (TBMA), and those involved in the event. Representing one of the festival’s sponsors, the Islamic Community of Tampa (ICT), was Hatem Fariz, a convicted member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). While Fariz’ participation should be seen as a ‘red line’ not to be crossed by those in government looking to connect with Muslims, other festival participants have backgrounds that are nearly as radical, and TBMA, itself, has ties to PIJ beyond Fariz.

Per InstaPundit, the Left is up in arms because conservatives are referring to the forced sexualization of five, six and seven year old children in the public schools as “grooming.” You can always tell when we have hit on an effective theme: the Left declares it out of bounds. John Nolte has more, beginning with a response to David French, who likened the forced sexualization of small children to Donald Trump participating in a Playboy video. Right. Whatever the topic, talk about Trump instead. Links in the original are omitted here:
[I]f discussing sex with little kids behind their parents’ backs is not grooming, what is?

One of the most frequently asked questions in these uncertain times, often uttered without the expectation of a definite answer, is “what’s going to happen next?” The honest answer is no one really knows. The failure of zero Covid, the Afghan collapse before the Taliban, the unexpected energy dependency of Europe on Russian gas, and the stubborn failure of Ukraine to collapse before the Putin blitz caught the experts by surprise and shows all too clearly the limits of prediction. Gone for now is the touching belief the policymakers had in models. For a time, due to the impressive increase in computing power, confidence in models

Pope Francis, a leading advocate of Doormat Christianity, is at it again, trying to reverse nearly two millennia of Christian doctrine, by preaching total passivity—even against violent aggression.
On March 18, 2022, Francis declared before an audience that “A war is always—always!—the defeat of humanity, always. We, the educated, who work in education, are defeated by this war, because on another side we are responsible.”
So far, all well and good, if only because such lofty but impotent words are expected.
But then Francis went so far as to say, “There is no such thing as a just war: they do not exist!”
That is a remarkably dangerous claim, of similar naïve thinkers—
Comments:
Listening to this racist anti-anti gay drivel so you don't have to, I nonetheless knew you were itching to hear this new work of art from the fecund vomitorium of Mr. Smollett. If one is a Democrat one never stops lying, even when everyone above an imbecile [IQ 25-50] knows one is lying. Some are shameless. Jussie in the "song": "You think I'm stupid enough to kill my reputation?" Yes. And you did. You wear it like a Curly Howard custard pie.
