“You cannot begin to understand it until it happens to you.”
Those are the wise words spoken to me by a friend upon learning that I had traveled to the West Coast last week to say goodbye to my mother. She passed away a few days after I left.
And boy, were my friend’s words true. I’m dealing with emotions that I do not understand, cannot comprehend. I can’t sleep or eat. It is the worst thing I have experienced. I am broken. Shattered, actually.
My Uber driver this morning, when I told him of my grief, said, “It is very challenging to live a good life.”
Indeed. Life was rough for my mum.

The passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill and Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signing of it into law have escalated into a tense war between the increasingly solid red state and The Walt Disney Corporation, which continues to double down on its heavily pro-LGBT stance.
Disney has vowed to fight for the repeal of the law despite the fact that it reflects the values of parents throughout the state — as well as many of the company’s cast members (which is what Disney calls its employees).
But, just as we’ve expected from Florida’s governor, DeSantis isn’t simply rolling over — he’s fighting back.

From his Inaugural Address to the State of the Union, President Biden has argued that he is a consensus builder. But looking at his key appointments shows the only consensus the president is building is between the Left and the far Left.
The Biden administration and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are pressing hard to force a vote on two of the most extreme nominees ever to face Senate confirmation.Alvaro Bedoya nominated to sit on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Gigi Sohn nominated to sit on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), recently advanced through the committee process on a tied committee vote.
Both the FCC and FTC wield incredible power;

The Democrats’ war on the internal combustion engine isn’t just solely an obsession with the radical Left and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). It’s being exported to the state legislatures now. It’s also not shocking that most left-wing states are adopting such measures that are Green New Deal-influenced. In Washington, there could be a ban on new gas cars. Yes, they’re taking the Oregon Trail game to its most extreme limits. It's back to the methods of travel not seen since the Donner Party san cannibalism (via Daily Wire):
Washington state is preparing to ban most new gasoline-powered vehicles within the next eight years.

In May 2021, the Florida legislature passed a major overhaul of state election law. The law’s goals were to make elections more transparent and trustworthy while outlawing known abuses of the system, particularly those abuses that came into being based on the whim of unelected officials and judges to allegedly allow the system to cope with an election during a pandemic.
These are bullet points that describe what the Florida law does.
Under SB-90, voters can still request to vote-by-mail instead of voting in person. However, some changes are being made to the request process.
Voters can submit a vote-by-mail application. It outlawed the mass mailing of ballots.

Some days, I go to write an article and it’s dealing with a topic so egregiously insane that I almost feel like I’m covering satire. Today is one of those days.
The Biden Administration, via the DOJ, has sent a letter to attorneys general around the country threatening to sue if states attempt to stop the mutilation of children in the form of “gender reassignment” surgery, hormone blockers, and other actions that change the natural development of a child. In other words, Joe Biden and his degenerate underlings now view physically “transitioning” a child as a civil right,

It’s long past time that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should have retired. I’m not a big advocate of hide-bound rules as to age or term limits. But in her and in Joe Biden, you see the problems of advanced age and related issues that are harming our country.
Of course, it’s not just the age, but lousy policies that they are trying to impose on us as well, such as Joe Biden deciding that instead of working on promoting more American production he’s just going to drain our reserve of petroleum dry to try to drop prices before the midterms so Americans won’t decimate Democrats in November.

On Wednesday, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed voter identification legislation that will require residents to show proof of citizenship and residency before they register to vote. “Voting rights advocates” are lamenting that it could result in thousands of ineligible registrations.
From CNN:
Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey on Wednesday signed legislation that would require all Arizonans to provide proof of citizenship and residency to register to vote, sparking criticism from voting rights advocates who say it will potentially cancel thousands of voter registrations and are exploring legal challenges in response.
Voting rights advocates point out that many voters didn’t have to previously provide such proof.

People are trying to “get the hell out” of blue “dumpster fire” states as Biden’s presidency plagues Americans with inflation and soaring gas prices, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said during a Thursday press conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he announced another round of $1,000 bonuses for Florida first responders.
During the presser, DeSantis announced another round of $1,000 bonuses for first responders in the state, noting that no state has done more for law enforcement than Florida. While this is not the first time the Sunshine State has awarded bonuses to first responders, the governor said they wanted to do it again to not only show support

Joe Biden and the Democrats have declared war on oil companies since the day Biden took office, and from that moment on, oil prices have spiraled..
Yet, not once has Biden taken blame for the ruination of the poor, the middle class, and small businesses that have taken the brunt of the higher prices. Prices at the pump, now running at a $4.24 a gallon average, are more than twice the price of the $1.99 a gallon average seen in March 2020, according to AAA.
This didn't happen because of Vladimir Putin, as Biden claims.
First, Biden called the price increases transitory.

Vermont’s social justice legislators have launched a transparent and illegal assault against free speech liberties.

Larry Summers served as secretary of the Treasury, director of the National Economic Council, and president of Harvard University. He is not a dumb man. He is a liberal Democrat with a Democrat's understanding of economic policy.
On Feb. 4, 2021, writing in the Washington Post, Summers wrote of President Joe Biden's proposed economic stimulus plan: "(W)hile there are enormous uncertainties, there is a chance that macroeconomic stimulus on a scale closer to World War II levels than normal recession levels will set off inflationary pressures of a kind we have not seen in a generation, with consequences for the value of the dollar and financial stability.
