The passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill and Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signing of it into law have escalated into a tense war between the increasingly solid red state and The Walt Disney Corporation, which continues to double down on its heavily pro-LGBT stance.
Disney has vowed to fight for the repeal of the law despite the fact that it reflects the values of parents throughout the state — as well as many of the company’s cast members (which is what Disney calls its employees).
But, just as we’ve expected from Florida’s governor, DeSantis isn’t simply rolling over — he’s fighting back.
Disney does not see California as a viable option either. They didn't like how they were treated during the COVID lockdowns, which sounds a lot like what many felt.
Disney needs to have a logical conversation, and realize the Florida law only restricts teaching K-3 children about a small group of topics.
Besides, they do business in locales that don't teach those things either, and show their movies in countries who literally kill people for who they love.
Sadly, they were boxed-in by a special interest group who should know it's not something that needs to be taught to 5 and 8 year old children.
Besides, they already populate much of what they want in their TV shows and movies. Can't they simply wait until the child is in 4th grade for some topics?

#1 What the bill is actually/ factually about is of no interest to the left. They have a catchy phrase ( Don't say gay ) that we know is a lie. Their dumber than dumb base, lacking any intellectual curiosity, goes with whatever the MSM tells them.

Ever notice how the left makes up a simple slogan and the simple minds of the left just eat them up. "don't say gay." Bill has no stipulation of not being able to say 'gay.' Black lives matter, of course we have nothing to do with the killing of innocent black children in the inner city by other black people all we care about is making our cities more dangerous by demoralizing and defunding the police force so black neighborhoods become ever less safe. But our slogan is good. Same with other leftist organizations, their real goal is socialism and state control of speech and thought, pay no attention to that name behind the curtain.
Disney is dead to me. I hope they take away their special status - they need to move to Vermont.

Disney better wise up FAST.
Getting rid of the Reedy Creek Improvement District would be an extremely complicated undertaking. It could be the all-time greatest legal quagmire in the history of Florida. In the end Disney will lose most of its special benefits, not to mention expending MANY millions of dollars on such litigation, years of bad press, and needlessly squandering immense amounts of good will.

I’m lovin,’ it! There’s no room for Disney to make a deal. It’s Florida’s way or the highway as far as I’m concerned. I’m hoping that this is the beginning of the end of wokeness. It’s about time that people in charge started saying no to these Commies!

Why would residents of the 2 affected counties have to pick up the extra costs? Couldn't Disney be charged for the services they would use. They'd be saving expense by not having their own.

here is a way out for Disney. the board of directors and stockholders need to stand up and force a change. as I doubt there is a conservative director, at least with a spine, we are probably in for an interesting fight. you can help by not spending $ with Disney. there are other attractions in Florida that don't involve waiting in line for 45 minutes for a 1 minute ride

#1 Ditch Chapek, who is unpopular with almost everyone on Earth. No one except the dudes Mom likes him. Tell stockholders "Oops!! Our Bad! Choo choo! Back on the money train folks!"
Fresh start with a new head guy and a new non-political direction. Quietly ditch all vocal striking political employees as FL is a right to work State, tough noogies freaks.
I don't anticipate this will happen. They will double down on stupid because Liberals never learn and think the rules never apply to them.

Oh Darn, disneysucks.com now reroutes you to the actual site disney.com. It used to be a place where people could vent their hatred and bad experiences in mouseland. Some people experienced horrible vacations, especially on the cruises.

The legialation is ONLY 7 PAGES. how hard is that foe Chapek to read? And this overeducated, obviously overpaid CEO cannot READ a parental informed consent to decide what their minor children learns legislation. Not this corrupt Congressional BS of the recent 1,500 pages released in the dark of night and voted on hours later. Disney and their removing "Ladies and Gentlemen" from the theme park announcements need to stop the pandering.

#13 is correct. Reedy Creek is peanuts. If parents decide taking their kids to Disney World is not good for them they won’t go and we can all sit back and watch Disney slowly die on the vine of wokeness. We do not need to expose them to trans gender mice.

I'm tickled at the thought of Disney having to stand in front of the local planning commission and explain--using very small words and repeating themselves over and over--to the low level politicians that make up most of these boards. If they don't know what a mickey-mouse business is, they will by the time they get their first request severely amended. Bring it.

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Bottom line is the dark side is going after the children & the moral authority of the Bible.

This issue is rooted in religious liberty....the liberty of Disney to promote its own religion, one that embraces (pun intended) hyper-sexual, homo-sexual, trans-sexual perversion for all ages, specifically including children, versus traditional Judeo-Christian religion, in which only adult-monogamous sex is 'kosher.'
This debate proves, yet again, that there is no such thing as "freedom from religion", because the perceived absence of one religion (in this case, Judeo-Christianity, and the morality it promotes) creates a vacuum that will be filled by another religion (in this case, secular humanism, which is a religion in its own right), even if only by default.
Humans are spiritual beings, and the spiritual vacuum created by rejecting America's Judeo-Christian foundations will be filled by something else...so why does it have to be the 'religion' embraced by less than 1% of the population?

I like the fact that Disney's wokeness just might turn them into the Tragic Kingdom instead of a Magic one. Taking Disney down is far more powerful than taking a small woke business down, this is monumental. The gay pedophile Nazis might have a home at Disney, but they just might have overstepped their play and telegraphed too much to the public who is paying attention. I hope the self-governing rule is stripped from Disney then the slow death can occur to the perverts. Kill the mouse.

I love DeSantis. I love the new song. I love his cujones. He is honest, smart and tough. I don't know if he can make the decision to revoke Disney's special governing arrangement on his own. If he can, great. But if he needs his legislature, I suspect there are many in his legislature, especially the demonrats and perhaps a few rhinos not above taking bribes. And you know Disney right now is making their list and checking it twice. They just ain't going down without a fight.
But, DeSantis.....go get 'em. And parents and grandparents, Starve The Mouse!
BTW, we got another great slogan, courtesy of President Donald J. Trump last night. "The Republican Party is the party of Parents." Every single Republican should be saying that every time they open their mouth.

Devil Mouse needs to stop with the woke. Parents do not like liberals intruding into their business, and part of that business is how we raise our kids. Personally, I would have gotten very angry if my kids came home and told me what some of these teachers are telling these kids in the classroom.
Walt Disney and his legacy has been thoroughly trashed for the ages. Since I remember watching Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday evening with the rest of my family as I grew up, today's programming is revolting by comparison.

#17 (Bottom line is the dark side is going after the children & the moral authority of the Bible.) YES! THANK YOU!
Our nation would be better off if Americans would read the bible, especially Genesis One. God's idea of two sexes.... male and female. Anything else is perversion.
As for Disney, it may be too late for them to change back to the traditional family friendly business. The Book of Romans, Chapter One, says when they wouldn't acknowledge God, God gave them over to a reprobate mind. These Leftists at Disney are anti-God, so I don't know if they have fallen so far down, that they can recover. Only God knows.

If this happens, glad NOT to be a taxpayer in Florida, or the two counties DWR straddles. This is an idea like "Texit"...stick it to them until one starts going down the expense of lost Federal spending that supports communities like Kileen through Fort Hood. Freedom ain't free, as the t-shirts say. Someone foots the bill.
For Disney they get to dump all these infrastructure expenses on the state and county. Oh, they'll pay taxes, but that's like hiring the government as a contractor. I doubt the county road crews will be out throwing cold patch into Main Street potholes.
And you can bet those governments will be the best Disney can buy. How high a price is honest Joe Resident willing to pay for one in campaign expenses? For Disney, it's not even lost change, whatever it takes. The Mouse has more than ears.
Be careful what you wish for. That "nuke" can easily boomerang on those launching it.

This bill is about parent's rights to control their children's access to written material and coercion by teachers...I recall when one of my girls insisted she wanted the convenience of standing at the potty and didn't think it fair her brother could stand but she couldn't...would she qualify for secret meetings and puberty blockers...she was three years old...

Transgender junk does not need to be taught to children in the primary grades AT ALL. It belongs in high school in BIOLOGY CLASS.
I am really getting fed up with the people who prefer to have sex with their own sex, who think the whole world should revolve around them. They do this to make everyone accept their way and the he!! With how anyone else thinks and believes. Jamming their way of life down our throats will NEVER make it right
We had LMBQIA people in our neighborhood. We just accepted it. But now, we almost have to bow to these people! Not happening here. Oh and the word gay means happy. And the rainbow belongs to God, as a sign from Him from heaven.

If 'transgender' needs to be taught at all, it needs to be taught as what it is - a fantasy.
You simply cannot 'change' your gender. You can 'believe' all you want. You can dress up and play
pretend. You can be surgically mutilated and take chemicals by the tank car load BUT you are
still either male or female depending on your chromosomes, PERIOD !
And I have never understood WHY businesses are pandering ( sucking up ) to a group in our
population that is a small single digit percentage AT BEST !
I know that they yell, scream, jump up and down and generally make fools of themselves more than
any other like sized or even bigger group in our population but this pandering is, from a
business viewpoint alone suicidal !!! You're going to alienate MOST of your current customers to
'satisfy' a very small bunch of perverted screamers ??
Bad move.

Disney hasn’t had a creative thought in 30 years and will cease to exist.
