Albuquerque, N.M.—Federal officials have come up with a list of potential replacement names for hundreds of geographic features in three dozen states that include the word “squaw,” kicking off a public comment period that will run through late April. U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland in November formally declared the term derogatory and initiated a process to remove the word from use by the federal government and to replace other existing derogatory place names. Haaland said in a statement Tuesday that words matter, particularly as the agency works to make the nation’s public lands and waters accessible and welcoming to people of all backgrounds.

FTA...'federal departments was to finalize a decision to replace a full spelling of the derogatory term with “sq——” for all official related communications.'
And in a few years, the way our country is going, all federal departments will replace a full spelling of the derogatory term 'woman' for all official related communications with --man.

Soon our maps and historical sites will be reduces to names like Mountain #1, Lake #24, Hill #56, Scenic Overlook #18, Battlefield #79... No use of names of historical people, no use of colors in the names, no reference to ethnic or native languages or terms, no reference to historical events except the marker at the site because it may offend someone. Oh, and we also have to watch out for the combination of numbers used because I hear hat that can be considered racist by some people too! Everything must be generically named to be safe and non offensive.

Why not just erase all references to Native Americans from history and names, as if they never even existed at all? Wouldn't that be better? /s

#4 Your method of renaming sound plausible at first. You would still have to admit prime numbers because they think they are "special". Even numbers almost sounds heteronumerical, and do we even need to mention the "odd" numbers?
Nothing will ever satisfy the "progressive" nutcases.

Yes, and while were at it, let's just go ahead and change our decimal system to metric system.
Since everything will be screwed up anyway, let's do it up big.

Since blacks were here in 1619 we must change all of the pictures of the first Thanksgiving. Remove all of the native Americans and depict blacks serving the pilgrims fried chicken, black-eyed peas and watermelon.

"The local Indian word for ‘woman’ came in various Algonquian dialects, including squà, skwà, and esquà. Narragansett Indians called their women squaw. The interpretations of this word in the 1630s included ‘young woman’, ‘woman’ or ‘lady’. It certainly wasn’t offensive. The New England English even encountered it in 1622 in the adjective sense squa sachim, meaning ‘female Indian ruler’, which by extension could also mean ‘queen’. The meaning was certainly positive or at best neutral, with no negative connotation whatsoever." https://historyamericanenglish.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/squaw-1634/

Acts that amount to burning taxpayer money in a dumpster are very important parts of our Great Leap Forward, beneficial because they foster divisiveness, destroy personal wealth for those of us foolish enough to have any assets or savings, and harming us in terms of international competitiveness because there's that much less money available for companies to expand or for the government to do what it's supposed to do.
