An Obama-era Treasury Department official on Thursday accused President Biden of being “dishonest” about the causes of surging inflation that has vexed consumers. Steven Rattner, who served as counsel to the Treasury secretary, said In a New York Times op-ed that Mr. Biden’s insistence on blaming the supply chain crisis for rising inflation is “both simplistic and misleading.” “Blaming inflation on supply lines is like complaining about your sweater keeping you too warm after you’ve added several logs to the fireplace,” Mr. Rattner said.(Snip)Instead, Mr. Rattner said “vast amounts of government rescue aid,” underspending during the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in private-sector resignations

Simplistic and misleading. Add in petty, mean, venal, vain, amoral, senile, and incontinent, and that pretty well describes The Big Guy himself, the leading light of the world and the best our nation has to offer.

Why would anyone be surprised? He is the genius who said in order to keep from going bankrupt you had to spend more money.

Inflation happens whenever dim-0s control gubmint. Give away money become worthless money cause the gubmint foes not own it to give away, they have to print it. Take 10 dollars and clone it, you have 20 but, it is still only worth 10.

Wow, someone from the Obama administration that understands basic economics. Who would have thought? Obama appointed hacks but, at least some of them had a little knowledge in the fields they were appointed to. This guy appoints clueless people to large complicated jobs and all they do is push equity because that’s all they know.

One thing the article has right is referring to Joe as Mr. Biden not president. This is a useless writing, Joe Biden never did or said anything right in his life. FJB

This is simply insane. We flicked lit matches on a gasoline soaked rag and then went on to debate the cause of the fire.
More money chasing less stuff and they want us to believe that there's something more complicated to debate. You'd have to have a PHD in economics to have a problem following that Money/stuff ratio.

Steve Rattner has a shady, dishonest past.
Operating from memory here, but it was Rattner who caused Bill Richardson to withdraw from national politics, because Rattner made huge amounts of money advising governors and state pension funds on investment strategies. The deals were crooked. Richardson was compromised.
Rattner also set up the cash for junkers program, which hurt lower class individuals bigly, but Rattner had to exit the program because of his shady past.

It's very simple...you spend more than you have and there's a problem...simple domestic math only on a larger scale...Washington DC is full of bureaucrats on the government dole...and they must be paid...or so they think...it's a simple solution...cut back on the spending and the problem gets solved... not likely to happen since this is an election year and democrats need all the votes they can buy...the supply chain problem has to do with unions not willing to off load the tankers in California ports...till the union higher ups get what they want...then and only then will they deliver the products...which is hurting china because most of the products are from china...no wonder the food at the Olympic Games is disgusting...

The logic to our problems is simple. Every time that Brandon says that it isn't his fault, it IS his fault. Inflation, crime, the Swiss Cheese border, people not working, job openings everywhere, Russia/Ukraine, medical abuse, government abuse, homeless explosion, drug addiction, public school failure, all of it.

Biden needs to take about six months' worth of lying lessons from Hillary. We still wouldn't believe it but it would come out a lot smoother.

An Obama-era Treasury Department official pointed to another Democrat's being dishonest. Will wonders never cease? I checked the publication: thought it was from The Onion, The Babylon Bee, or at least the Bawl Street Journal. It is 42 days until April Fool's Day.

An honest former Obama official? Not outside the real of possibility. Here, he states what anyone who's taken even an introductory economics course knows. Which evidently is more than Crazy Janet has ever done, since she says inflation is good for the economy, and it has nothing to do with massive wasteful stimulus spending, of which we need more to boost the economy.
