The lawyer, who should be disbarred, argues that they were not aiming at the cop per se, adding that the client is innocent. What?

Those cute little Amish look like they could be Obama's sons. /s Try them as adults and put them away for many many years. After they get out and so much as spit on the sideway put them back in. I am done with these animals.

It seems to me that if you name a twin for royalty, (Prince) you owe the same to the other twin.

This concept of "juvenile justice" as a separate and more lenient subset of the justice system is a totally, completely failed notion. We need to just ditch the "juvy" system for anyone over about 12 and treat them as adults, punish for the crimes that they did, exactly the same as adults.
Enough of this "he's just a misguided young boy" BS. Do the crime, do the time, including the death penalty for murder.

I tell ya, it's getting to the point that we will just have to build a solid concrete building (including the roof) . Drill some holes in the walls no larger than eight inches and slide their food and water through it. Oh, and it will take a complete rewrite of the penal code, in favor of the taxpayers who funded it.
In other words, make SURE no one who is released from it gets out again.

The solution seems to be having "Juvenile Crime" defined not by the age of the Perp, but rather the crime itself.
Juvenile stuff is minor shoplifting, minor graffiti, maybe a minor broken window...not a MAJOR felony, certainly not a Major felony with prior Major felonies already having been committed, adjudicated.
You should "perhaps" get ONE bite at the "He's just a kid" apple.
Unloading a firearm on a public street, at a funeral/memorial is a Grownup act, and qualifies as attempted Mass Murder/Terrorism.

Their mama liked Michael Jackson a lot? Aren't his kids named Paris and Prince?

In the middle to late 1980s I lived in Richmond,VA. The local prosecutor and the federal attorney teamed up for a program named Operation Exile. If a local perp with a felony record was caught by local police or sheriff's deputies with a gun, they were tried on the local charges, then referred to the feds for prosecution on federal gun charges; i.e., a felon in possession of a firearm. The sentences ran consecutively. Within a VERY SHORT time these characters stopped carrying guns rather than face the federal time. There is NO REASON, other than a lack of will, for this kind of program failing to be instituted in NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis, San Francisco, LA, etc., etc., etc. Of course, those were the Reagan years with a strong emphasis on undoing the damage of the carter [sic] years.

These two are the epitome of The Most Forbidden Word. Can't write it; can't speak it, but I am certainly thinking it. Loudly and continuously. Someday, humans will strike back at sub-creaturae malus africanus. With vigor. It will be a glorious day.

Paris and Prince? The baby mama ran her finger down the page in the dictionary and this is what came up. She didn't even add a "De" or an "arius" to the names.

Paris and Prince? Well, they won’t be traveling to Paris, nor are they going to receive the royal treatment. Should have chosen more appropriate names mom. I can share some thoughts on that with you.

There's the usual shocking list of previous catch and release incidents following serious crimes, at least one of which is likely a federal felony. When they turn 18, they will have no crime history. Americans agree that this is good.
