NYC thieves swarm upscale boutique in
$50K afternoon robbery

Five robbers swarmed a high-end Soho boutique Thursday afternoon, stealing $48,300 worth of luxury goods and injuring a security guard. The brazen heist happened around 12:30 p.m. at the Celine Boutique on Wooster Street, where some pricey handbags retail for thousands of dollars, the NYPD said. Two suspects casually entered the Manhattan store before three cohorts pushed the door open and fought with the French boutique’s security, according to police. One guard suffered an injury to his elbow and thumb during the fracas. The suspects fled the store with their haul and remained on the run Friday night, police said.

Comments:

NYC Police detectives are scouring the membership rolls of the Sons Of Norway and the Bocce League Of Bensonhurst - - to find the perps of this foul deed. Don't worry - - they'll get them.

There would be a rapid end to this if the guards would be allowed to shoot to kill. They are looters after all.

Years ago, I worked downtown in a major city, just down the street from a jewelry store. A thug walked in one day, tried to hold them up at gunpoint, was shot by one of the clerks, staggered around the corner and died in the alley next to the store. Within days, the store installed a security door with a doorbell. Customers had to be buzzed in to look at the merchandise. I was inside with a coworker one day when a ghetto type tried to get in and was waved away by the employees. They asked us to stay until he left the vicinity of the door then let us out. If this smash and grab trend continues, high-end stores will have the same setup or will be open by appointment only.

#4 I saw that in St. Louis jewelry stores 40 years ago. Not sure why these stores aren't doing more to protect their employees and their merchandise. Insurance has to be getting a little expensive. And the day someone has the guts to open fire on the looters will make them maybe not be so brazen.

nearthed Hillary Clinton tweets from days before the 2016 presidential election show the candidate pushing now-debunked information that Donald Trump was using a "covert sever" linking him to Russia. Just a day after Fox News first reported that Special Counsel John Durham alleged that lawyers from her campaign had paid to "infiltrate" servers belonging to Trump Tower, and later the White House, in order to establish an "inference" and "narrative" to bring to government agencies linking Trump to Russia.

The hits just keep coming for Caryn Elaine Johnson — AKA: Whoopi Goldberg — in the aftermath of her on-air claims about the Holocaust, during which an estimated six million Jews died at the hands of Adolf Hitler’s Nazis. But as Whoopi saw it, earlier this week, the near-extermination of Europe’s Jews was “not about race.” As the fallout from that hot mess continues, a previous related controversy has re-emerged.

The Biden administration has waived sanctions related to Iran’s civilian nuclear activities as part of its efforts to bring the regime back into compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal – while stressing that the waivers did not equal sanctions relief for Tehran. Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed a waiver that restored the ability of foreign companies and other countries to participate in civilian nuclear and safety projects in Iran without facing U.S. sanction. The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the development on Friday, reported that the waivers are aimed at turning Iran’s heavy-water Arak reactor into a less-dangerous light-water reactor,

According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, President Joe Biden’s approval rating has fallen to a new low. The poll, which was conducted between February 2-3 on 1,005 Americans, asked: “Overall, do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as President[?]” 41% of respondents approved of President Biden, while 56% disapproved. That is the lowest approval and highest disapproval in the regular Reuters/Ipsos poll since Biden’s inauguration. Broken down by political affiliation, only 14% of Republicans approved, 34% of Independents approved, and 71% of Democrats approved.

Lest there's been any confusion in whom the redistricting efforts are favoring, the Cook Political Report earlier this week declared that Democrats have taken the lead in benefiting. David Wasserman wrote up a report for the site on Friday, following a tweet on Thursday explaining the lead, which is the first time that Democrats have taken such a lead this cycle. Wasserman points out that from the new maps, with the process being about two-thirds of the way over, "Democrats are now on track to net two to three seats from new maps alone," which he calls "a significant shift."

As the Biden administration continues to suffer low approval ratings and frequent setbacks, some are calling for President Joe Biden to make major staffing changes. One prominent target is White House chief of staff Ron Klain, as critics say he has steered the administration into an ever-leftward position and a number of unforced errors. Most recently, Indiana Sen. Mike Braun called for White House staff term limits on Groundhog Day, calling for Klain and 18 other Biden aides to be drained from the swamp.

In this episode of “The Neverending Story: COVID-Style”… “Shockingly,” as fears of the rational among us continue to subside over the yuugely-overhyped Omicron variant — not that we were all that fearful in the first place — “leading UK scientists” are now warning that new COVID strains could be “much more dangerous and cause far higher numbers of deaths and cases of serious illness than Omicron.” Joe Biden was last seen furiously nodding in agreement. Yep, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepares to lift the final COVID restrictions in England, next week, as reported by The Guardian, “leading UK scientists” are (no doubt frantically) once again ringing the never-ending COVID alarm bells

Most “either/or” questions are designed to make you choose, but sometimes the correct answer is “both.” When dealing with someone like President Joe Biden, it’s not always possible to know the answer to a simple question: is this man stupid, or is he just a liar? There is ample evidence of both, almost always, but the exact tilt of a scale and in which direction it points for the majority is not always clear. As such, you are sometimes left wondering which it is, but there is little doubt it is at least one and usually some combination of both. So what has me asking this?
