Psaki Says Biden Stands By ‘Powerful
Speech’ Comparing Republicans to Segregationists:
‘Not a Partisan Speech’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that President Biden stands by the speech he delivered in Atlanta last week comparing opponents of Democrats’ voting bills to racists and segregationists, arguing that it “wasn’t a partisan speech.” Psaki claimed Biden delivered a “powerful speech” about Americans’ right to vote “for anyone they choose, whether it is him or someone else.” “It was not a partisan speech,” she said. “It was intended to lay out for the public exactly what’s at stake and lay out for elected officials what’s at stake and he stands by everything he said in that speech.”

I'm still guessing that if you looked in Psaki's trash every week, you would find dozens of empty vodka bottles. You know she has to go home and drink herself into a stupor every night. A sane and sober person could never spend her days telling lie after lie to cover for the worst president in history!!! It's that or cut her wrist in the bathtub -- and you know both have to be equally tempting!!!

Dems' 'nuclear option' push fails, election
bills dead, after Sinema and Manchin vote

Democrats' attempt to use a "nuclear option" to get around the filibuster for two major elections bills failed Wednesday after the gambit from Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was stymied by Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. Manchin, D-W.Va., and Sinema, D-Ariz., joined all Senate Republicans in opposing the attempt to alter the Senate filibuster on party lines, resulting in a 48-52 final tally. That vote followed a failed attempt by Democrats to advance the election bills over the Senate's 60-vote filibuster threshold. All Republicans opposed it. "A few hours ago this chamber, with the eyes of the nation upon it and with the evidence of vote suppression
Biden’s press conference was an utter disaster 1 reply

If President Joe Biden’s press conference Wednesday was supposed to inspire confidence, it failed — horribly. Even though he spent most of it clearly calling on reporters from a list of “safe” questioners provided by his staff, he stumbled and bumbled and all too often made no sense at all. Plus, he repeated his bizarre “whisper shout” gimmick to emphasize certain points — when what it actually emphasizes is his age. On that note, he kept walking down memory lane, reminiscing about how “in my day” cable news was like that; the Republican Party was like this, and so on. He’s fighting old wars in his head,

Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked a sweeping election bill, setting up a doomed push by Senate Democrats to try to change the chamber’s legislative filibuster. Senators voted 49-51, falling short of 60 votes needed to advance the legislation that combines the Freedom to Vote Act, which would overhaul elections and campaign finance laws, with the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which strengthens the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Democrats spent the hours leading up to the vote making an 11th hour plea for the legislation — directed at both Republicans and their own members — warning that the votes would go down as a crucial moment in history.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Thursday brought a fruit basket to the Capitol for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, thanking the chamber's top Democrat for forcing his vulnerable members on the record in a vote to get rid of the legislative filibuster. NRSC spokesman Chris Hartline foreshadowed the move in a December interview with Fox News. "If Schumer continues down this path… I think we'll send him a gift basket or something," Hartline said. "It's not about the rule itself. It's about why they do it," he added. "They're not trying to change the rules so they can more easily name post offices.

Moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin slammed his colleagues’ effort to alter or eliminate the filibuster in an attempt to pass sweeping election reform Wednesday, just hours before the Senate put the rule change to a vote. “For the last year, my Democratic colleagues have taken to the Senate floor, cable news airwaves, pages of newspapers across the country to argue that repealing the filibuster is actually restoring the Senate to the vision of the Founding Fathers intended for this deliberative body,” Manchin (D-WV) said on the Senate floor. “My friends, that is simply not true. “It’s just not true. Every three months or so, Joe Biden awakes from his slumber and does a “press conference.” The infrequency of the events is only topped by the absurdity of how they always play out. The president shows up with a binder to read from, calls on pre-selected reporters, and rarely receives a tough question (and when he does, he blows it off and moves on). Today’s “press conference” was no different. Biden spent several minutes touting his many supposed accomplishments, sharing misleading stats and gaslighting Americans on the failures of his first year in office. Here’s a bit of what that sounded like.

President Joe Biden questioned the legitimacy of the 2022 midterm elections, after repeatedly lecturing former President Donald Trump and Republicans for casting doubts on the 2020 presidential election. During a press conference at the White House, Biden was asked by a reporter if he believed the upcoming elections would be fair and legitimate. “It all depends on whether or not we’re able to make the case to the American people that some of this is being set up to try to alter the outcome of the election,” Biden replied. Biden recalled that Americans had the highest voter turnout during the 2020 election even though it was held in the middle of a pandemic.

The left has been doing its level best to pressure and intimidate Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema into supporting the elimination of the Senate filibuster, which has been an obstacle between the Democrats and their ability to pass whatever legislation they please. The Democrat’s proverbial cannons have been pointed squarely at the two, but Manchin isn’t phased in the least. In fact, the hard-left of the Democrat party has threatened to primary Manchin, to which he effectively shrugged it off, and even welcomed the attempt. “I’ve been primaried my entire life. The Washington Post’s editors keep dropping hints about the midterms. Perhaps Democrats have finally started listening. A day after noting that House moderates want to stop obsessing over progressives’ hobby-horse agenda items and go into the midterms with a few wins, the Post reports on how little Democrats have accomplished in their previous high-priority issue of health care. Even House Progressive Caucus chair Pramila Jayapal sounds concerned, even though she’s a large part of the problem: In 2020, Democrats pledged a slew of health-care changes if voters would just give them Congress and the White House.
