Many on the political right oppose so-called “Big Government” due primarily to the tyranny it inevitably inflicts on its citizens, and we’re seeing scary examples of the phenomenon in real-time. Examples of such autocracy include vaccine and mask mandates, jury intimidation (see the Derek Chauvin trial), and unapologetic assaults on our First Amendment right to free speech. But there are other aspects of Big Government that are both infuriating and repulsive, one of which is its inexcusable waste; and we saw a ridiculous example of such waste last week.

Comments:

It's because some bureaucrats literally think money grows on trees. And they don't have accountability because they don't WANT acountablity.

Earlier this year there was a PPP program for the self-employed, including jobs like Uber that paid up to $20,000. When it started, all you had to do is submit your Schedule C and not a full verifiable tax return. I'd say the bulk of the money disbursed were to non-self employed who were submitting the Schedule C and having funds despised on to prepaid debit cards. There were even "consultants" one could hire to compete the paperwork for a cut of the money. This went on for a couple of months before the SBA figured what was going on and required actual documentation.

I'm remembering the article a couple of weeks ago about some female who said she had a company with 400+ employees and who got $10 million. She didn't have a company and she didn't have employees. I guess it's too much trouble to do some checking before handing out our tax dollars? Our government seems to be run by morons, some elected and some not.

To put this in perspective. That's the cost of 7 aircraft carriers. We could replace over half of our carriers with what was stolen. Thats 1/7th of our entire defense budget. We could pay 2 million people 50,000$ with that amount. That's 258$ for every man, woman and child in the US. This is an outrage!

If 100 people EARNED $1Billion in a year...the left would brand them as having "Stolen" it from society. (there are 2755 Billionaires in the entire world, 724 of them in the USA, 110 NEW Billionaires here last year) If 100,000 earned $1Million in a year the Left would brand them as having stolen it from Workers. (there are approx 20Million "millionaires" in the US, 2.25Million "New" millionaires last year alone, that is net worth, not annual earnings) If 1 million people suddenly earned $100,000 more in a pandemic year the Left would brand them of having profited off the backs of the sick.

Six billion still missing from Hillary's State Department, probably buried in some Clinton Crime Foundation account. The IRS can find every nickel of income from the average citizen but tracking billions of dollars seems to be beyond the government's abilities. COVID is a massive scam and all of the "free" tests and shots are a complete waste of money. Many hospitals, small businesses, individuals, teachers, airlines and others made out like bandits because they are bandits.

The $100 billion is only what they are admitting to now. No telling what the number really is, probably much higher. The unemployment fraud in itself was off the chart as well. The results are very reminiscent of Katrina fraud, just handing out money with no documentation or accountability or repercussions. Disgusting.

The problem is not just with the Federal government. The problem also lies with State governments. A great example is the pandemic unemployment program. State unemployment benefits + $600 per week Federal unemployment benefits = FRAUDULENT CLAIMS! As an employer, I protested about 10 unemployment claims between May 2020 and January 2021for ex employees who were fired or quit. I never heard back from the State and protested every month as they collected their weekly state and federal unemployment payments. Finally, around October 2021 I started to get acknowledgement of my protests. In the meantime, these people collected over $28,000 each in benefits. This is $280,000 in benefits that should not have been paid out. Now in December 2021, I was notified that my unemployment account is being credited with all of the benefits paid out. The people are asked to pay it back which will never happen. They can claim hardship and the debt will be forgiven. In the end, people who did not deserve unemployment got it fraudulently and when caught, were let off and allowed to keep the money. Typical government. Guess they don't care since its not their money.

This brings to mind a large BBQ we attended, in the mist-shrouded past of the post ' 08 crash. There was a clique of federal workers seemingly from small business and related agencies: mostly highly-educated , high powered , high-level, techies and numbers crunchers-- managing a lot of federal funding. And it sounded like some of these officials managed accountability projects and programmes, perhaps to do w/ the funding they doled out? There was doom and gloom over their observations that experts had been leaving, and the offices' super-efficient procedures were being disrupted, even destroyed, by an invasion of outsider bureaucrats...with no skills, no experience. and no clues. Apparently, they did come with pens and mobile phones. The invaders took over the most important jobs and projects. Nevertheless, if these Elmer Fudds so much as touched a piece of high-tech equipt., it would implode on contact. It was not surprising to hear that these funding and accounting offices--their morale and their output-- were reduced to cinders--in short order.
